!
I didn't get a clear look, but I think the calculator says 1.618 at one point, then on the next couple of frames it says 666. :ermm:
! Never mind it's just an unclear 666…
!
! I can hear the PTC already.
Gravity Falls

So a friend showed me clips of this last night. I was interested with the flashlight-boat scene. I was sold with the candy-acid trip scene. I was head over-heals with the rap scene.
Yeah, I'm downloading all the episodes now.
-
! Code is Not H.G. Wells Approved. Huh.
! I'm slightly disappointed by the fact that Blendin turned out to be just a time traveler. I was expecting him to be much more mysterious.Wait does this mean you're also disappointed that
! They actually gave a logical explanation for his appearance in previous episodes?
-
OH MY GOD.
Just watched episode 9. At first I was like! YES, I knew the goggles guy would turn out to be important! I knew it!!
But sheesh, I totally didn't see the end coming. I didn't get what they were going for with Mabel and Dipper losing all that stuff all over time. I honesstly didn't get it until they actually showed it at the very, very end.
Boy, do I feel stupid now. But at the same time … AWESOME.
That's the kind of feeling you can only get by speculating about something for a while and THEN seeing it actually happen.
God, I love you guys for making me watch this show, especially this early on. -
[hide]Have I mentioned that I really enjoy the art for this show? That pig is one of the cutest things I've seen drawn. I love how this series has that backwards continuity. I wonder if Blendin will be showing up again. Somehow I feel the future (evil hourglass-foreheaded baby future) will be important, if as the result of the various shenanigans taking place throughout the series.
Also, I was in hysterics at the witch hunt for Mabel. "And yes, I am a witch."[/hide]
-
Dudes… this episode just wrinkled my brain yo.
! I loved how they brought it all together at the end.
Best part of the episode:
"Be on the look out for Mountain Lions travelers."
"Dysentery! Who wants Dysentery?"
"Forge ahead, might oxen, for a new life awaits us on this Oregon Trail.
! Though a close second was the "That'll do pig, that'll do."Even though I said it last week, I'll say it again. This is my favorite episode yet. Granted, it's a very specific type of episode that I love more than others, so it'll be hard to dethrone this one.
Though, really, this show just gets better an better.

Also, Brad Breeck, the composer for the series, tweeted this a few days ago:
"Making 8bit version of #gravityfalls theme for a special episode…"
Let the excitement begin...
And then there's this Space Jam - Gravity Falls mash up… -
Next episode is called "Fight Fighters," which sounds pretty video gamey to me. That might be where it turns up.
-
And of course, no new episode until September 14th. Lame. :I
! S - L - A - Y -H
This is the final set of letters. Good luck! -
Wait does this mean you're also disappointed that
! They actually gave a logical explanation for his appearance in previous episodes?
! Actually, no. I loved that. Especially the way all his appearances in previous episodes were connected to cohesively. The credits were excellent in this respect. I suppose I just jumped to conclusions. For all I know he could come back.
-
In episodes 2-9 there have been multiple times I've expected grappling hook to save the day. Don't let me down now continuity.
-
I loved this episode. It brought a lot of stuff together, even though his reveal does take that one little mystery from the episodes now.
But heck, this show is so full of mystery that I'm sure I won't miss it.
-
Next episode is called "Fight Fighters," which sounds pretty video gamey to me. That might be where it turns up.
You'd be correct.
! Street Fighter Dipper.
it's from
! Also foreshadowed.
-
I just realized I have OnDemand
If they keep previous episodes up, I can just watch 6 to 9 of my own leisure
-
Meh, so the time traveler guy was a huge disappointment for me. I through he would get a bigger role in the whole mystery thingie. And also - they could've done so much more with this episode.
-
I felt so bad for Mabel when she lost Waddles. :(
-
Another great episode.
! To be honest, I didn't really notice Blendin in the previous episodes, but it's nice that we (apparently) got an explanation for that. Although, for the moment, the time travel stuff does seem kind of pointless, so hopefully it'll play a bigger role later on.
! But the real strength of this episode was the emotion with Dipper giving up a chance to be with Wendy for the sake of his sister. -
Awesome episode. While the time traveler answered some questions, it also bought up some new and very interesting questions. I'm not even sure what to ask without watching the episode again a few times. I have a feeling there's some background stuff that would be bought up again soon.
-
Waddles is the cutest thing ever. It was really heart-warming when Dipper gave up his awesomely elaborate plan for Mabel~
Grunkle Stan is still my favourite character though. Also Soos. "Like a hawk"
-
Just watched it, solid episode yet again. I bet they didn't have the scene with "young" Stan for no reason.
I also wondered btw, if we'll find out who is messing with the hydrants as seen in episode 6.
-
I also wondered btw, if we'll find out who is messing with the hydrants as seen in episode 6.
! It's the minotaurs. Remember when they were showing Dipper how to be a man?
-
@Galaxy:

Hm, yeah that makes more sense. I thought they just used it, because it was already messed up before. xD
-
Oh, Kits. We'll invest many more hours into discussing this show.
I'm still going on my Robbie is a zombie theory.

So do you think the baby from this episode was the same baby as "mentioned" last episode?
!
-
(Potential episode 9 spoilers)
! Time travel? Time devouring dimension traveler? The end of time?
! Somebody's a Chrono Trigger fan.~–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Nex:
Also this just made my life.

Hmm. There has to be a whole reason why this baby insists on being rid of numerous time anomalies. Maybe to ensure world domination?
Either way, what I'm most interested in is seeing some mecha Mount Rushmore action. -
I just rewatched Episode 5.
I love how Dipper actually wrote "I am pretending to write something down." I do that all the time XD
(We have this professor who loves to ask annoying questions, but he usually leaves you alone when you write something, sooo…) -
Guys, do you mind putting stuff on an episode that hasn't aired yet behind spoiler tags? Not everybody has OnDemand or an internet connection that makes downloading leaked episodes feasible.
-
Saw a couple people mention this around the forums and thought I give it a try.
Watched all nine episodes in one go. Need more! This show is awesome!
Great animation, lovable quirky characters and a interesting set-up.
Didn't really get into the codes yet as I was too busy catching up but I probably will as I wait for new episodes. -
Found out every episode was available on PSN, so I bought 'em all and have successful hooked my roommates on the show!
-
…I forgot about you, PSN.~
(been trying to download the episodes to my PS3, but having no luck with DD links. This is a much better, not to mention, more supportive, alternative.~)
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Potential future episode spoilers
! Oh, looks like we've got a Halloween episode coming down the pipeline, as well as an upcoming guest appearance by Lance Bass. Halloween, in the summer, you say?
! @From:
! > In addition to the ‘crummy fair’ episode, fans can look forward to an episode dedicated to the Gravity Falls tradition of Summerween, in which Dipper and Mabel are forced to trick or treat, literally for their lives. Another episode, which Hirsch seems particularly excited for, is described as being video game inspired and features guest animation by Paul Robertson.
! I can't wait for Gravity Falls' Summer version of Christmas. :ninja:Also, The AV Club's started reviewing the last couple of episodes (it originally only did the Pilot) and looks to be adding the show to its regular rotation, judging by the response.
-
! Well, that's just cheating. No doubt this is going to lead to a Christmas in July episode.
-
I wish I could make some people watch this show. My brother is impossible, and my friends don't like untranslated (English) shows :(
What is your favourite scene so far by the way? Mine has to be when Mabel and Dipper are sitting in the car blindfolded "Ouch! Grunkle Stan, are you blindfolded?" "No, but with these cataracts, I might as well be! What is that, a woodpecker?" BAM! Priceless.
-
My favorite scene is the 13 dollar one.

Oh man oh man oh man, I kinda wonder if that woodpecker line is a reference to the episode 8 joke. =P Be awesome if it was.
As for my favorite joke/gag, I can't pick just one. Smile Dip, museum infiltration, Ducktective, the montage, brain magic, You're a dancing machine. They're all too good. :I
Though picking JUST one, I'd have to go with the closet scene in Episode 7 where Dipper's furiously eating the cheese and crackers. That scene gets me every single time.

This scene shall live forever.I almost forgot about that scene where Grunkle Stan says "That's a thing a responsible parent would never let his children do…. Good thing I'm an uncle!" I wonder why Mabel's and Dipper's parents sent their kids there. I mean, the should've known it's not safe being around Stan.
-
"What is that a woodpecker?"
Best scene. By far.
-
So, after reading this thread and seeing the various show-related avatars around here, I gave it a shot (first episode only, the rest when I have more time), and I love what I watched.
Mabel's awesome, she's like a female version of Flapjack. Also, she found and claimed a random grappling hook from the gift shop, and grappling hooks rule…
-
Hm….tell me, AP. Should I give this show a watch? The show avatars are making me curious.

Yeah. Just Google "Watch Gravity Falls".

http://watchseries.eu/serie/gravity_falls It works for me.
@MetaMario:Hm….tell me, AP. Should I give this show a watch? The show avatars are making me curious.
Absolutely. You can catch up in no time!
-
Awesome. I'll try and catch up as quickly as possible then.
-
Grunkle Stan is one sexy bitch.
-
Eight episodes later and my cheeks hurt, for which I hold you all personally responsible…
So, when's the next episode?
-
I'm all caught up and I'll never forget to watch episodes again
-
It might just be me, but in the second episode when Stan went up to those young pair and said that joke, I burst out laughing even though I already heard it elsewhere. Something about Grunkle Stan telling it to a couple that wants to marry and ending the whole thing with "It's funny because marriage is terrible!" made the whole thing a lot more funnier.
Also, I don't know why, but I think the book Dipper found was Stans.
