True there is the Aoki / Hiramura wedding. If Yoshida is not the best man, I would be very disappointed. I don't think we'll end the series with them engaged simply due to the mentions of Aoki's (most likely fictitious) sister, promised as a motivating tool for Nakai to trim some weight and become human again.
Also Homewrecker and Nakai aren't finished - It's been hinted that Natural+ is going to end eventually and Eiji doesn't care much for the series anymore. It's also been hinted that homewrecker and fatty might team up to work together. Nakai was at least once a decent character unlike skeevy perv that wanted to draw Aoki naked, so I would expect a redeeming moment for him. I mean, he didn't even kill any Jedi Younglings, so the door's still open.
Nanamine (as much as I dislike him) may rear his ugly head one final time…I just didn't get the sense that the second time would be his final appearance. I just hope it's not another rehash.
I like Miho as a character....more than Mashiro lol. I wish she had a better role in Ashirogi's series than the Reversi equivalent of Misa Amane.
It's a shame they didn't come up with a concept like Chuck (the TV series) with a kick-ass female lead that doesn't get used, abused, and thrown to the side...not to mention Chuck was pretty original sci-fi(ish) concept that blends humor and action.
Really I think Chuck epitomizes the type of series Ashirogi needs to write - it needs to be original in concept, have a prominent female lead character (for Azuki Miho, no hopefully part of the team once she and Mashiro are married), humor (utilizing their experience with Tanto), and atypical action. What I mean is, Chuck Bartowski is a spy and the show is full of action, but he's no James Bond....at least not all the time. Sarah and Casey do most of the badass stuff while Chuck saves the day in different ways. It's got elements of PCP, elements of Tanto, serious plot twists, a strong female lead in Sarah Walker, and it's not a story like Death Note or Reversi that has to end.
I would say being short is not a flaw, except for the fact that Mashiro and Takagi want to be Eiji's rivals. The fact remains Takagi can't come up with something yet that both beats Eiji's series and can be a long-term pillar of Jump. If their goal was just to write one great series, that would be fine it only lasts 2 years. But they constantly claim to be Eiji's rivals and if they can't go the distance (like Rocky, 15 rounds with Apollo Creed), they can't say they've won.
