@'ko:
RAW on Mangahead
! the art is poor, but what really matters is the content. The election is over, now the final showdown between Killua and Illumi! Great chapter
! When you said the art was poor, I wasn't expecting End of Greed Island poor. Hope this isn't a sign that he's losing interest again, I don't think my heart can take it
Chap 335 is out
http://www.tenmanga.com/chapter/HunterXHunter335/267298/
What's your feeling about this chap though?
anticlimax
and weird.feels like i was reading a different manga
Loved the chairman storyline, though the final revelation, that Pariston was just trolling everyone, could have been expanded a bit.
Didnt liked, that the final meeting of Ging and Gon really happened.
The thing, which really dissappointed me, was how the alluka storyline was handled. This felt anticlimatic and dissapointing. It was just too easy, as if togashi has written himself into a corner at some point of time; though I know, that it has not ended yet.
I think this chapter was great. Gon and Ging's interaction was a little awkward, but it wasn't unexpected; We all knew there wouldn't be any conclusion to their meeting until other issues were resolved. Pariston trolling everyone was absolutely brilliant, and he even did it without illusions CoughBleachandNaruto. Netero even knew he'd be a "Rat"… just a guy who wants to mess around and in the end let others have their way.
And now comes the conclusion to the Illumi and Killua situation. I have a feeling before the end of the day, one of these brothers is going down. Knowing Togashi, however, the answer may not be as clear as we would think.
I adore Pariston. He's a wonderful troll. The fact that he's so sad about Netero's death makes him an even better character. Although he is certainly an oddball haha.
Overall a good chapter. The art was definitely off every couple of pages though. Granted that'll be fixed in the volume releases, but still it's jarring.
This page makes me chuckle though:
!
I love how THAT is the first thing he wants to mention to his father XD

It would be nice if you could elaborate on that, because as things are now allukas story line is far from over.
Her power is still dangerous to those around her, her family still wants to confine her and illumi now wants total control over her.
Nothing has been resolved so I'm not sure by what you've judged her storyline.
It certainly has not reached its climax if anything the introduction to it has been established.
What happened is gons nen disaster and the election have been resolved. Having issues with these 2 seems far more logical.
I think the meeting between those two was handled well. Neither of them knew anything from each other, besides their names and that they were father and son. Basically they are two strangers bonded by blood, they have to start getting know each other from the very beginning. 3 minutes weren't really enough for anything, but for Gon to say the most important thing going on his mind right now.
The Pariston thing really cracked it for me :))) Togashi simply is the "p"est!
Also the Gon Ging meeting was nice, far from the cheesey scenes some of us might have imaginged in their nightmares. :P
But what really made me stumble is the announcement for the next chapter: blabla"another conclusion" ….. omg, are we heading to the end of the series ??
(first time I ask that question (myself))
not really sure how to interpret this
dunno if in retrospect this chapter'll be satisfying at all
uhhhhh
I feel Pariston is like fine wine. Trolling people because he's bored and it's fun, he's very much like Hisoka. And for the heck of it even he couldn't hate Nerero
I agree that it feels a bit anti-climax as Gon doesn't talk about anything but kaito and then just leaves.
This could mean that Ging will most likely disappear again so that Gon could find him with proper skills rather than stumble upon Ging by chance. However, this anti-climax could also be the start of a YuYu ending, even though I would give Togashi way more credit that that.
The art is pretty sketchy, but this is Togashi, I couldn't care less. PLOT PLOT PLOT!!
For some reason I found this chapter to be so awesome, I literally forgot every other manga I read today, cept One Piece.
Pariston is such a fucking troll! XD
I thought the meeting between father and son was handled well, Ging actually gave some decent advice, which was a nice touch. All we ned now is for Killua to take care of that creepy bro of his.
Jeez, I can't believe how Togashi trolled us all with the elections! Pariston as the evil guy who's going to corrupt the Hunter association, Cheadle who would do anything to stop Pariston, and Leolio who is nobody but could win the election!
Nothing went as expected: Pariston resigns as soon as he wins, Cheadle is designed as vice-chairperson by her arch-enemy and will probably end up as the new chairperson, even though she lost everything she could lose, and finally Leolio happily returns to his everyday life after being accidentally bounced near the top.
This is great, really. And we still have the Killua-Illumi storyline to resolve!
I hope Togashi deals more with the consequences of this election. I'm still trying to figure out why he even made Leorio a candidate, since I don't want to accept "for the screen time". I also want to know when those cocoons are going to be put in play. If Togashi tries to weasel himself out of that which he has written, I will be sorely disappointed.
It's politics…
...and there's a reason politics is rarely found in shounen.
HxH occassionally enters seinen territory.
Hilarious how a shitload of people died for no reason. Looks like nothing can happen unless mass murdering occurs. And everybody just shrug it off.
And I feel Ging lied about Kaito's 'serious' weapon just to make it easier for Gon. And Gon still has to return him his license. But I doubt it will happen - I feel that was their only onscreen meeting.
It's politics…
...and there's a reason politics is rarely found in shounen.HxH occassionally enters seinen territory.
HxH gets violent for a Shonen, but go read Deadman Wonderland or Fist of the North Star sometime. Those are violent.
So…there's no chairman?
How long can the Hunter's Association run without a chairman? Is it running to its full capability with only a vice-chairman? Will there be another election and when? The ending to this whole election saga left open so many questions and felt so...empty. What was the purpose of it all really? Yes, Pariston trolling everyone was fun and we were introduced to some new and powerful characters but I'm iffy about the ending.
I think the Ging interaction was handled well and it was funny. Everyone calling him a dead beat dad and telling him what he should do, lol, then the big fight with everyone getting their asses beat off screen by Ging. Gon not giving a damn, just glad and upfront about meeting his father.
Art was terrible, yeah, this is Hunter X Hunter. I could have excused it for the crying part but it was just bad throughout.
Last but not least I call BS on the "Like Hell I'm Going To Die" plot device which saved Kaito. Of course he would have something like that. How very convenient. Too convenient...
Pariston is awesome.
Though the art is getting scribbly again this chapter, and for obvious reasons, that worries me.
But what really made me stumble is the announcement for the next chapter: blabla"another conclusion" ….. omg, are we heading to the end of the series ??
Don't put much into the editor notes, they're random. Like the time, during a flashback it asked "Will Luffy and Ace survive?"
And its talking aboutKillua facing down his brother… who let him go to heal Gon, but still wants Alluka.
So…there's no chairman?
Cheadle is chairman. She was made vice president, then Pariston resigned. She is it now.
Normally Pariston would have gotten it by default, but it was in the old man's will that there be an election.
Why did the "like hell I'm going to die" thing appear. Well, I think it's Ging's way to make Gon feel less burdened with Kaito's death, because I thought it's quite clear that Kaito now is the same as Jairo, Wolfin or the many other chimera ants who gradually gained memories of their pasts lives, until they remembered everything and became the same person they were before but with a different appearance. Just that with Kaito it happened from the very beginning. more like a direct reincarnation.
Other than that, good chapter, but it seems some consequences must still be paid. Both in the election part and the Gon's healing part. Everything just went on far too smoothly for HxH's standards.
I really wanted Gon to help Killua own Illumi, but I guess it can't be helped…
I just hope that Leorio's apology for not being there with them means he won't disappear for years on end again.
Love Pariston as a character. He has been hilarious. Gon-Ging meeting…well, I'm not sure about that yet. It's not the most important thing in HxH, but it could have been a little more dramatic.
Anyway, I'm getting more and more worried that Togashi is trying to wrap things up.
Anyway, I'm getting more and more worried that Togashi is trying to wrap things up.
Bleach just officially entered its final arc, and Naruto has clearly been it its endgame for a while, and Bakuman could end any month now. (And Negima is ending in three chapters, but thats a different mag.)
I'd imagine they'd be encouraging Togashi very strongly to keep the series going.
I don't know if this was intended, but this chapter was hilarious. I clicked on the chapter expecting an emotional and pretty well drawn chapter to bring out your feelings. Instead I couldn't stop laughing, Ging was freaking hilarious. I was disappointed that partison wasn't a villian through, but this manga is the most unpredictable manga. After I finished reading it I said WTF, but for some reason I liked the chapter. The chapter should be renamed troll through.
Decent chapter. Not as good as the recent string of chapters, but it was alright. I never had a big anticipation for the first meeting of Gon and Ging, that was like only the fifth most important thing for me that needed to be wrapped up, what the genei ryodan and especially Jairo are up to interests me way more. Also, I'm sure, once the two have the time to be alone and talk, it will be more interesting.
Also, Pariston really grew on me because of this chapter. He was kinda cool before, but this chapter made him great for me. Actually seeing Pariston sad is one of the most powerful expressions this series had.
I hope Pariston gets a fight. I'd love to see his nen abilities. He kind of has some Hisoka-isms
Wow. I love this.
I actually hoped Pariston wouldn't turn out to be a villain since it was said that only Ging and Pariston resemble Netero and share his spirit the most. But to think that it would turn out this way - I am just so fucking happy right now. Love Pariston.
And nice to see Ging and Gon might actually work somehing out in the end.
Art was pretty shoddy this time around, but otherwise a great chapter.
Actually, when you think about it, Pariston not being evil really isn't that surprising since we never actually saw him do anything evil. Well, yeah, he apparently does have the ant cocoons, but even those we didnt' see and we're still not sure what exactly they're for (though I do wonder how/if they'll come into play).
Well, Palm came out an ant cocoon, so .. ant cocoon doesn't equal evil.
I liked the chapter very much, What's next? I don't have a clue.
The meeting of Ging and Gon was so epic that the only way to tell it is through scribbles.

It depends on the will of the person eaten. Palm had to fight to come to her senses.
Jairo hatched out the cocoon and smooth walked out of the hive without even attacking a human.
I hope Togashi deals more with the consequences of this election. I'm still trying to figure out why he even made Leorio a candidate, since I don't want to accept "for the screen time".
I think that it might have been snide political commentary. Think about it–an inexperienced whelp almost won the election to govern the most powerful organization in the entire world because of his charisma. This is kind of how it works in the real world, to some degree.
Wish Togashi would have prettied this chapter up a bit. Regardless I was almost tearing up…and Pariston is a officially the troll of the century. Glorious.
LAWLS @ "Like Hell I'm Gonna Die" slot. Kaito reincarnates himself as a girl just to avoid dying.
I get the meeting between Gon and Gin was weird cuz it didn't really count as Gon finding Gin. So they kinda avoided that whole topic and focus on Kaito with Gon asking for advice. I'm a bit lost on what he told him to do. Go and make it up to girl Kaito? Showing he's sorry by what getting stronger?
Love the move by Pariston. I had suggested something similar if Leorio had won but this was an even higher level of trolling.

Ok, that clears a few things up. I thought they had to have elections to elect another chairman even if they already have a vice which is why when Pariston resigned I thought they had to do another vote. Which would have been dumb.

Even if that was true (which it could be), it still doesn't sit well for that to be the only reason for his place when he is a main character. Like his presence was purposeless, which hits even harder considering this was his first appearance in years and that he's a character that hasn't really gone anywhere since the Hunter exam.

You know what a red herring is? That was his purpose in this arc, he didn't just randomly appear either, he heard Gon was ill so he came by. He just happened to become a pawn in Ging's little game.
I understand what a vermillion pisces is. I don't think a main character serving as one to divert attention from nothing is a good use in both such a story and an arc, though.
Maybe Pariston is indeed physically weak. And the way he played with Netero is through such schemes, not fisticuffs like some other Zodiacs.
Level E. Hunter x Hunter. Togashi loves his trolls. So easy to create an antagonist by having everyone else hate him. Nice to see that turned on its side.
Love the meeting between Ging and Gon. Seemed more realistic than a sappy family reunion. Hoping it counts as a Shanks and Luffy at the war, not an official "I found you".
This arc was a smart way to focus attention on Leorio. He's trying to be a doctor. He can't go on long battle arcs with Gon anymore. Now I'm interested to know whats so important Kurapika couldn't visit Gon.

I am pretty sure Leorio is going to be with Gon in the next few arcs.
this chapter feels like the end of HxH…...
Hunter X Hunter is not ending any time soon.
I am pretty sure Leorio is going to be with Gon in the next few arcs.
Yeah, I can see Leorio staying to help Killua and possibly Kurapika. But, he'll eventually leave again unless the series ends. Now that I think about it maybe Togashi's slowly bringing the band back together to do just that.
this chapter feels like the end of HxH…...
People really need to stop saying this. It's like people actively forget about all the other plot points that need to be addressed. Even though he ended YYH quickly, he still concluded any loose ends. HxH still has a lot to deal with and he brought up more issues to be dealt with this arc.
Thought I double posted…
anyways Manga ending madness seems to be setting in given a bunch of popular manga are entering its end phase (though only Negima is truly ending. Bleach and Naruto, even Bakuman, despite seemingly being in it's final arc could still extend for a couple years)
As for the chapter. I'm okay with the trolling. Wondering what the plan is with the ant eggs but eggs don't automatically equal evil so there's that.

While I agree with this, many people(including me) were saying the same thing about Negima, and well that didn't work out well.
