      Ouch, yeah.

      I very carefully reboxed all of my figures and was looking for bigger boxes to transport them in. I spied a nice big box, but it was heavy. Opened it up, and found an unopened POP Zoro Sailing again and GEM Shiroyasha. >>

      So, yeah, apparently I'm not as into the whole collecting scene as I was. I do still want to get a nice display case and decide.

      Maybe if someone buys them before I get them displayed again, that will be that.

      WARNING: NOT TAX ADVICE
      On a very odd side-note for US collectors, apparently you might be able to claim a capital loss deduction on your income taxes for collectibles. Maybe. I would have to look into it more; I just saw something for capital gains reporting. IRS specifically lists coins and art as examples.

      Was reading the last few pages of the thread . . . apparently the market has tanked while I've been away? >.<

      Heh, I was packing stuff up to move, and thinking how I've just got TOO MUCH STUFF, and considering selling some of it. But, yeah, I'm not sure. I've got the crew's Strong World POPs and the new world Figurarts (crew only) that I was debating. It's just that the boxes take up so much room. And frankly, if I decided to sell, I'd want to sell them all, not figures here and there. Don't want to sell the popular ones and end up with Franky left. ๐Ÿ˜›

      Okay . . . loving those Halloween WCF. Ack, the figures, they're pulling me back!!!!

      So, how is WCF quality nowadays? Improved at all? Worse? The prototypes always look amazing.

      Long time no post . . . yeah. I've been busy with school.

      Just thought I'd ask the collectibles experts a question. ^_^ Specifically, the card collectors. Someone sent me some pictures of sketches he purchased, and was asking for any info I could give. I was thinking they might be from Carddass or Berry Match cards. Anyone have any idea?

    • RE: Box splitting / Figures up for grabs

      Just paid for my Film Z GLC Vol 1 from BiJ (Nami and Chopper). Nami's mine, but I'm 95% sure I want to give up Chopper. Total came to $40. So, it'd be $20 + shipping to you. That's in USD, and shipping from the US (so international shipping may be high). I should have them in a couple of weeks.

      Any takers, just pm me. ^_^

    • RE: General non-One Piece Collectibles v.1

      @Lejira:

      I have the GEM and it's really worth it! I was not sure and waited for the bargain bin sale, but he looks way better than the photos show and I'm so happy I got him. ๐Ÿ™‚ He's a bit too thin for my taste, but he looks like Kotetsu and has a really charming face (not one, but four!)

      I'm a bit worried for the Barnaby GEM thoughโ€ฆhopefully he'll turn out as good as Kotetsu.

      Yeah, compared with other GEM, I think they did a better job with the sculpt with Kotetsu. Plus he's got the bonus of the mask face (so hilarious). The MSP sculpt may be better, but I'm not sure I enjoy how his hands turned out. The plastic/painting/shading looks a little cheap.

      MSP:

      GEM:

      Haven't really looked at Barnaby, cuz I'm not interested in him at all as a character.

    • RE: General non-One Piece Collectibles v.1

      Does anyone have the Kotetsu MSP or GEM? I'm trying to decide which to get. GEM is more expensive (sadly, I missed a bargain bin sale of 2700 yen a month ago >.<) but I'm wondering if it's worth it. How did the final products turn out?

      Thanks, I'll see what I can do. I was rather horrified to notice what had happened. He wasn't dropped or knocked or anything, either. ๐Ÿ˜ž

    • RE: One Piece Collectibles v.9 Main Discussion - "Remember when they weren't named ?"

      Phew. Get busy for a couple months and you guys go and write 100+ pages. ๐Ÿ˜› Little late with some of these comments, but . . .

      Looking at the Franky SA POP, sorry, but he's going to have to come with the front support for his arms. His legs are just too skinny, even if they made his torso and arms hollow. After all, SW Franky POP wasn't strong enough.

      Let me explain the tragedy. I display my SW Franky with both guns, attempting to recreate the look of the march into Shiki's quarters. He heroically bore those arms for over two years. Just a few weeks ago, I went into my room and found him lop-sided. One of the pegs had broken off in his foot. >.< I don't think it would have happened had I displayed him without the added weight of the guns. But SW Franky was specifically designed in a crouching pose to alleviate some of the weight. SA Franky is crouching a bit, but not even as much as SW, and he's heavier up top to boot.

      ahem But, on a lighter note, I'm super excited for the Zoro MSP. ^__^ And I know someone excited for SA Law. Heck, I rather like his facial expressions. I may consider him for myself as well.

      There are a few animals that I kind of want from the WCF Zoo. Unfortunately, they're mostly in separate volumes. Hopefully I'll be able to snag them on mandarake. Though, I'm still trying to pick up a Franky from Vol. 26 to complete my "crew when they first joined" collection. I still wish he were in a "SUUUPER" pose.

      Anyway . . . anyone have any methods to remove part of a peg from a POP's foot? ^^;;;;
