What I am curious about is how Coby (and maybe helmeppo) is going to fit into this new Absolute Justice marines? He doesnt have the mindset of that type of person. Also, he had a direct run in with Akainu during the war that surely didnt make Akainu happy. To me it doesnt seem safe for him to stay in the marines. I wouldnt be surprised if he left with Garp to train on his own (actually i would be more surprise, or dissapointed, if he was still in the marines).
Also, am I the only one who thinks that its possible Akainu and Aokiji staged this whole fight and leaving the marines thing? I mean whats really aokiji's problem? He didnt seem to have a problem trying to kill luffy during the war….or almost killing him on long ring island. Sure he could have killed luffy anytime he wanted but didnt but is that really because hes lazy, nice, or felt beholden to Garp? Who knows.
Anyway, I think its possible the devious Akainu came up with this plan so he could get a high ranking marine into Pirate ports and revolutionary circles.

As Blackbeard is on his journey to get all of the strongest DFs, shouldn't he already got magellans DF ? I mean, he beaten magellan almost to dead before he escaped, he knew how to take DF powers by that time already and it seems blackbeard always plans ahead, so I think by that time he was on his way to the war, he already had the plan to use this power to take as much DF's he can. Magellans DF is really really strong.
EDIT: Wich also makes it impossible to let him become Admiral, wich alot are speculating on.

I hope Akianu turns the marine in a darker organisation. Get rid of the white jackets/capes get black uniforms instead. A new style of justice during the 2nd half of the journey Zero tolerance for pirates and traitors.

Possible reasons why:

The fruit is too powerful and actually a danger to Blackbeard, especially when one of his pure evil and treacherous crew members possesses it. Blackbeard would be still stronger, but as Jinbe & Crocodile said during Impeldown, you just don't want to get in contact with Magellans poison - at least if you have plans for the future.
What would speak against this theory is that Shillew possesses an antidote against the hydra, not sure if it would work against the kinjite tho. -
The Doku Doku no Mi doesn't fit into his grand scheme. Maybe he tries to achieve some kind of synergy with his crew, and needs specific devil fruits that complement each other.

I wondered about this as well. The Doku Doku no Mi is (by far) one of the better Devil Fruits introduced yet, it makes absolutely no sense that BB passed on that one.
It makes sense if you consider they are shopping, haha. If each of them can only have one– Blackbeard being the exception, with two-- they pick the powers they want the most. He served under Whitebeard for 20+ years, so he knows the possibilities with that destructive power... of course he would choose that over poison. The question then becomes, does anyone else in his crew want poison? If not, then why bother? Maybe they thought they killed him, and just left him for dead.

- Sentoumaru is full marine now + pacifista -> I guess they are the unprecedented power given to the marines, and I suspect the marines have a lot of them now.

Yeah,I agree,it could be for plot reasons.A super hax,lethal power like poison won't be good,story-wise.It's a better,one hot type of thing…
Or,in a story point of view:Blackbeard has been innthe new world for over 20 years,I'm sure he has a very clear idea of who has what power,and has an idea of the specif fruits he wants.

I'm quite excited on what is going to happen on the port next chapter. Caribou is probably gonna meet his crew there, but Sir Bocoms and Baron Tamago is also there; how are their character design gonna be? Probably, one of the two is an arrogant underling and one is a real big shot. The monster trio is going to be there too.

I'm interested on why she has a tree on her jolly roger, maybe some kind of earth/ dirt type devil fruit. It would be a trip if she doesn't even have a one. Maybe they call her "big"cause her Haki is ridiculously overpowering.
