Well, actually this comes off as one of the better chapters this arc as it's mostly mindless action. Most of the stupid stuff is in the bad writing.
First, it is confirmed what was inferred last week: Ichigos latest powerup was achieved by beating an unwilling opponent until unconcious. Real smooth, hero.

I say we hold off on 0 until we hit thread 10…I doubt we'll ever get there considering it's not like this is a hotbed like the Naruto thread...but it's close.
As for my title...I think I rather just stick with being "idiot snarky guy who makes the occasional comment, is for the most part considered wrong and makes the occasional funny script about how bizarre this series is."

This manga arc is still pretty shitty, but it's better than most of the Arrancar arc IMO. At the very least things are moving a tad bit faster now, albeit all over the place. I'm really just waiting to see where the hell things are going in this arc…
In my eyes, I am more interested in the latest anime filler arc, where it seems every single character will get some depth and the fights will be interesting. Not to mention Kon is actually a main part of the cast.
I don't realy agree. At least there we had Aaroniero, Zommari , Barragan, and Yami, to a decree, to dilute the blandness of everything.
The only non bland character endemic to this arc not only looks silly in a "stupid" kind of way, but he's also stolen from another series.

It's more than can be said for her fight with Rudobone who was KO'd by Yammy (WTF was up with that?), who proceeded to crush her bones Oozaru style. Which happened after her unconcious body had been used as a puppet by Zommari of all people.But thats still better than Renji, who has ONE win to his credit in the entire series run.

Yes, you heard me.Yeah I've actually noticed that the "mains" or at least those who went to HM with Ichigo were pretty bad characters as far as Kubo's treatment goes. Ishida's pretty bad too. Only beat an arrancar powerup jobber, and Privaron Espada that I recall. Him vs Mayuri was a near-loss and at best I'd call it a draw. Though I can't remember the pre-HM arrancar arc very well so he probably got a win in on someone in the group of arrancar Renji's win was in. Edit: Might have beaten that giant dude in SS, I remember Orihime was there but forget if she did anything or even who dealt the final blow.
- Fierce rival for Ichigo forced quickly into being an ally (did he and Ichigo ever actually battle or compete in anyway before that? iirc the "killing the most hollows" lead to Menos Grande which resulted in the teamup)
- EDIT: Oh yeah, he beat that giant dude that was the gatekeeper's brother or something. Forget if Orihime helped.
- Barely forces Mayuri to retreat. Would have died if not for Nemu being nice. Temporarily lost his powers but regained them way too fast after SS. - Promptly KOed by Tousen directly afterwards.
- Beats fodder arrancar and Privaron Espada like Chad. But then utterly curbstomped after months of being toyed with by Szayel.
- Goes to help Ichigo, decides to trick Yammy, which unintentionally screwed Rukia, Chad, and Renji over.
- Eventually takes Orihime up to where Ichigo vs released Ulqi is happening. Loses an arm and is assaulted by supposed ally when Ichigo goes berserk.
- Goes back to offscreen killing regular fodder Hollows during this arc and gets owned by Tsukishima.

Yes, definitely more interesting characters, but Kubo never did much with them. I personally liked Stark, but he was royally screwed in the end there… Barragon was cool as well.
I just feel like things are moving a tad bit quicker now.
I hope to god Chad doesn't get screwed in this filler arc. The animators do a great job with most of their fillers, but Chad is still screwed over usually. Even Muramasa easily put him down.

I'm hopeful the series will re-find itself once the leads start working on a new series again. The writers sort of forced them into a stagnant corner for a bit.

As a character, I like Naruto way better.
I've seen Bleach fans on this other forum I post at go on about how Ichigo has loads of profound character development and that they can relate to his character more so than characters like Naruto and Luffy. I don't see it. Ichigo is probably the most boring character in the manga. I would pick almost any character in Soul Society over him. I honestly think it would have been a great move by Kubo to switch protagonists after Ichigo lost his powers, but that ship has sailed.
