I really like SE's art. Monthly chapters are getting on my nerves, though .
Soul Eater COMING TO TOONAMI FINALLY
-
-
Feodor and Tzar are awesome.
plus that chapter had some of the best artwork i've seen in SE in a long time.
-
Did Crona realy say that "my blood is red"?
-
Did Crona realy say that "my blood is red"?
That may be a bad on the typesetters behalf.
Helll out one point Crona says: "pinch black" when it's suppose to be "pitch black"
-
Great chapter, I hope we see the aftereffects of Chrona's full transformation soon.
Soul Eater Not: that was a weird chapter.. can't say I'm liking where this series is going.
-
Don't like where this series is going?
Its been 2 chapters. I think its way too early to judge.
-
Soul Eater was owning within the first two chapters.
-
Soul Eater NOT! is rather interesting….. I wonder when the actual plot toward that series will begin. My guess is by chapter 4 since we're still being introduced to characters.
-
How is Kim known to be a witch while Sid is still alive?
-
Looks back at comments
I guess I thought of Soul Eater: Not as some sort of spin off. I'll lay off its case for now.
I loved the art, I loved the fight, I loved the plot progression of black blood, I loved Chrona.
Nothing more to say. -
How is Kim known to be a witch while Sid is still alive?
Kim's a White Witch. They had a meeting about her with Shinigami and decided to let her stay as long as she stays on the good path. This was just before they entered the Book of Eibon.
Also, technically, Sid hasn't been alive since the beginning of the series.

He's talking about during Soul Eater Not, which takes place prior to the series.
And the answer, Khamolen, is that they don't know she's a witch. That girl was just speculating at all the people who could be "the witch." The translation was a little wonky in places and worded strangely, so it's probably the case that the "witch" of the female door is just a moniker and not an actual witch in the flesh. It just so happens that Kim also happens to be a witch in secret.

So is Maka and the rest of the gang somewhere in between 16-17? (their ages)
Have their ages ever been mentioned? I don't remember.
In Soul Eater not, it was mentioned that the new girl is 14, and in the previous chapter, she referred to Maka as a Sr.
-
Senior in high school standards, so the ages fit the description
-
I really want to like SE Not, but so far none of the characters are particularly engaging.
I can't even remember their names… >_<
-
We know Blackstar is 15-16, because sid found him 15 years ago as a baby, but we don't know the ages of the other main characters.
-
I feel really bad for Chrona. I want Chrona and Ragnarok to become good guys again.
-
I feel really bad for Chrona. I want Chrona and Ragnarok to become good guys again.
WHUT!?
-
WHUT!?
You know what I mean. If Chrona is on the side of good then so is Ragnarok. He just a mean little imp. He wasn't too bad.
-
I liked Chrona's action parts in this chapter; the end was kinda a wtf moment.
I'm enjoying where they're going with the black blood. How he/she started with "my blood is red" then moved to "black sync", and finally black blood which was much stronger than it's ever been. This next arc has much promise
-
Hmmm….speculative mode.
! Here we have Maka and Soul starting to get affected by the Black Blood, while Chrona and Ragnarock are clearly in advanced stages in their infection.
I'm thinking one of two things:
Maka and Soul find some way too…cure(?) the Black Blood, and therefore give Chrona a chance.
Or
Chrona loses and becomes a Kishin, but in her failure, Soul and Maka see an escape route from their predicament.
...I know, I know, too early to know anything, but the fact that both Chrona and Maka are dealing with Black Blood now has to come into play at some point. It already did with the fight at Shibusen arc, though, but still. -
"A black guy like me can do nothing but dye things. JET BLACK!"
-
dear goodness graciceous this last chapter was awesome! im excited to see how all of this
"crazy" and black blood shakes things up for maka and soul -
So Chrona is a guy. A Jet Black Guy.
Great chapter.
-
Or a guy named Jet Black. The epic equivilant of Jet Lee.
-
The new SE chapter was pretty good, though I'm not a huge Chrona fan. I am curious as to what will happen with Soul now, if he will go bad and have to be saved or something.
Also, I'm really enjoying Not! as well.
-
Not! seems to be the gag version of Soul Eater, which I should have saw coming…...Its a shame really, I hoped it could have enhanced the story..
-
Come on seriously. Its only been two chapters, how can you judge it?
I know that Soul Eater was pretty fast paced at chapter 2 but still. This is taking some time to move the story on, when we met Soul and the gang, they were already built into their relationships etc.
We have only just met these characters. It'd feel too rushed if they were already perfect buddies by end of Chapter 1.
-
It may still, later on.
But it's still it own series. They have to properly introduce the characters and whatnot. Don't forget SE has had its gag moments in the beginning as well. It's just that the latest arcs have been pretty serious overall.
-
While I'm enjoying Not!, this chapter had weird pacing. I would have liked it better if the chracters were interacting and commenting more on the setting rather than wasting panels showing the setting.
-
I guess I am judging it too fast and as a stand alone, it hasn't been bad. The only thing is that, as you said, after 2 chapters we kind of knew what Soul Eater was. I'm just getting the feeling that this is the mangaka trying his hand at gag manga, which is fine but not my type.
-
I loved this chapter of Soul Eater and Soul Eater Not!
I get all my action from one and all my laughs from the other. It's a perfect duo!
-
Finally caught up chapter wise and read Soul Eater Not.
I get all my action from one and all my laughs from the other. It's a perfect duo!
Both series in a nutshell. :D
-
So MangaStream has officially dropped Soul Eater.
That makes a second awesome series that they've dropped now.
I am disappoint. :(
-
Strange. Soul Eater is lazy MangaStream's ideal manga - popular and so easy scanlate.
And second? What was the first, Bakuman?
-
You got it.
And yeah, that's what I don't understand. Aside from Bleach, it's by far their easiest job considering how light it is on text and it's once per month.
-
But, they are still apparently scanlating 'Not. :/
See, I appreciate MS for their quick releases and good image quality, but they just tend to herp derp about the manga they want to scanlate.
-
MS sure is lame some times.
I wish Not! was weekly.
-
You've gotta be fucking kidding me. Why the fuck would they do that.
-
I'm curious to see the reason why they dropped it. I mean, they never seemed very enthusiastic about scanning it in the first place, as it would always come out WEEKS after the raws were floating around.
Very peculiar.
-
i couldn't find a general couples thread, so i'm just sticking this in here.

I like MakaxSoul a lot but I've seen a lot better fan art -_-
-
yeah lol, same here.
-
Ew.
They're like… fourteen or fifteen.
-
you've never seen someone in a relationship at that age? lol.
-
Not with all that slobbering spit and lust.
-
i see now, fair point.
-
Ew.
They're like… fourteen or fifteen.
Girls are moms are like age 12 these days.
Not that it's not disgusting.
-

Not that it's not disgusting.
Maybe I'm old fashioned for not wanting to see 12 year olds drool into each other's mouths.
Idk

it's time for taboo's soul eater fan dump
