Next episode looks good….Marco to the rescue??? His phoenix form is soo sexy. I love it.
I can't believe how fast this war has gone by....it doesn't seem all that long ago..it first started..
Now we're entering the final stretch
475: ''Rush to the Final Stage! Whitebeard's Tide-Turning Maneuver"

this episode was great :)
only thing i can complain about is the one second where you see Croc and Dofla cross hook and foot. It looked very very akward to me and that was the main thing I was looking forward to seeing in this episode
8/10 this week :)
-
good epi. It pales badly in comparison to the past couple of weeks but it was still enjoyable.
-
And another goal from Kizaru, awesome.
-
I don't know how they did it, but I didn't once notice the pacing. This episode never got boring even once.
I just have to say that I was pleased with Moria's face towards the end of the episode. That crazy smile when all hell breaks loose…priceless.
What Moria face isn't priceless?
-
I don't understand how Oda used Marco presence in this war. It's all very paradoxal. First he said: "I can save him" 5 seconds later: "Oh my god slow mo face i can't do anything". Men i don't understand, and i don't understand why someone who can fly at fast speed didn't try it more times to save Ace. I hate u Oda.
-
This episode was pretty good! I can't wait until they save ace :P

You seem to forget how fast was the pacing in the manga, look:
http://www.mangareader.net/103-41091-6/one-piece/chapter-566.htmlSo yea, Marco's line seems ridiculous in this episode since we see his reaction and then one minute later nothing happened, but in the manga? Don't blame Oda because of some shitty anime director.

My god, it seems like everyone's got to bitch about something. Can't you guys be happy we are progressing with quality episodes? Unless its freakin movie quality with insanely fast pacing people will complain and whine. Get a life!
I thought it was a great episode, cannot wait till the later episodes of this war :)

I am really excited for when the war is over. Can't wait to see the crew fishing. Haha

the fact is that this episode isnt good. Saying such thing like "AWESOME EPISODE" "EPIC ANIMATION" is just ridiculous. If this episode is AWESOME then the last one is UBER AWESOME. The reaction arent logical at all. You can say, an ok episode, or, wasn't bad. But cmon, that wasnt awesome at all.
-
are there any anime only people? then we wouldn't hear so much bitching
-
What does Anime only have to do with this. I used to be anime only.
I actually enjoy the anime more than the Manga. But I didn't care for the
whole war very much. I just am excited to get the crew back together. -

Welcome to Arlong Park.

@RPG:

I'm not anime-only, and I really enjoy the anime. So, it kinda depends on something else.
I also like the filler scenes (of course the good ones). There are mistakes but nothing too serious to me. Only one thing, which is a minor problem, in the manga the war felt somewhat darker; the anime is little too bright but I'm used to it. -

I suppose you're an anime-only guy? Coz nowhere you can find in the manga a panel of Marco saying "he can't do anything" while watching Ace almost get beheaded. That was just plain shitty filler.

It wasn't a filler….i think it was the translators and how they translated what he said./ We saw Marco gettin ready to intervene...but then sees Crocodile as taken care of it... then remarks "I guess i don't need to intefere just" or somethin like that. So it did happen...
-
He isn't talking about that
He's talking about the part before that, when Marco screams "AAAAACEEEEEEEE" when he's about to get beheaded -
@Mr:

I actually didn't like this episode that much. Not much happened, and the pace was a little bit slower.
I can see why people DID like this episode but I don't get why those that DID like it can't see why those who didn't, DIDN'T.
The episode didn't start until like what… 7 minutes in? Crocodile saves Ace, Oars brings in the ship, and Luffy gets kicked and stabbed.
What else happened?
Exactly, that's exactly why a lot of us thought this episode wasn't that great. It was just a transition episode, not saying those aren't necessary, but the ending of the last episode sort of made us think there would be more. It was full of recap and filler. The filler fight with Luffy was decent
Edit: and yes I'm anime only.

The recap was too long, I agree, but I skipped it so it didn't bothered me. And the fillers wasn't that bad. It's quite funny how they show random filler marines. For example I really loved ep 464 even though it contained a lot of fillers. Fillers can be good, but can be bad easily.
All in all, it was a good episode in my opinion, near to great, but had a few mistakes.
-
Compared to the last episodes this one felt kinda weak but it doesn't mean this episode sucks.
I really liked the filler with Mr.3 and the fight with Luffy and this Rokushiki user.
And the end scene gave me goosebumps when all the WB Pirates and Garp/Sengoku are making themselves ready to fight. -

Yea, I mean I'm not knocking the episode for forcing me to watch recap, but skip it or not, that's still 7 minutes subtracted from a 23 minute show.

Well, yes, that sucks… can not argue with that. But the beginning of this arc was much worse (in my opinion) those episodes felt slow, nothing happened, but it got better.
-

LOL.
Chapter was ok.
-
I almost raged. I thought they stole luffy's haki moment for croc' team up attack lol. But Mr.3 filler shows that he hasnt gotten knowcked out as of yet. So now what are they going to do for luffy's epicsode?
-
Nice episode. I liked the fact that Whitebeard finally moved his lazy ass an led the charge. Honestly it was pathetic seeing just stand in one place in the beginning while half of his people were getting slaughtered. With his strength he could have sent the marines in complete chaos, taken down a big chunk of the vice admirals and Pacifistas without a problem and so much more and instead he basically just stood there.
-
I have to say that WB's attack wasn't as thrilling as the manga's.
-
What i still don't get they were climbing over Oars body like 12-14 episodes ago to get in to the plaza but suddenly they were all back in the encircle walls and they have to climb over the body again. Did i miss something or can someone explain that?
-
No particular reason except that flying ships look cooler than rising ships. Strangely subverted in this episode with Oars just lifting the paddle ship instead of throwing it. At least I got the impression he threw it in the manga.
Yes, a fucking flying ship looks so amazing in the middle of a war.
Hey, everyone! Let's ruin the mood by having a coated ship fly outta the water, only to have it land back in the water again! Genius! -

Flying ships loos so stupid. It is like the boat has been hit in the ass like Kakashi did to Naruto.
I imagined that coated ship act like submarines when they reach the surface. To be elegant and sneaky.
-
I don't get where that ship even came from. I know its underwater…but how the hell did they get it to raise up to the surface?? Were there people already on the ship??
-
I wonder when did pandaman joined WB pirates.
-
Well episode was OK
-
this was awesome. i joined the board because i cant wait for the next episode!
-
8 Weeks left…...
-
8 weeks till what?
-
'til Poochie returns to his home planet.
-
-
Hahaha, nice one, Crossword.
-
Whitebeard music at the end was awesome!
-
OK..if your still complaining about the pacing then you are a hopeless case and should probably resign yourself to waiting 20 years from now when One Piece Kai comes out to pick up the Anime again cause this was the 3rd kick-ass episode in a row. This arc is getting better and better, and the shit hasn't really even hit the fan yet..
Quoted for truth the pacing was great, without 1 minutes strike moves and repeating panels all over
I enjoyed it, recently it all dragged for me, but this one was great
-
Count me on the side that loved this episode. Maybe the animation wasn't the greatest. Marco freaking out was a mistake, but nothing major. Whitebeard's attack didn't really live up to the spread, either. But honestly, I feel like these are all minor, nitpicky gripes. I don't mind a 2-3 minute recap at all, especially in contrast to the same 4 minute intro we get every episode. Something has to be done with those minutes, and throwing them away on a recap is far better than interrupting the flow of the episode with some awful Hancock daydream filler.
I suppose, more than anything else, I felt like this episode had good emotion to it. I was sucked in the entire time. The pacing seemed good to me too, as I never found myself tapping my foot waiting for the episode to move forward. I also enjoyed the filler and I thought the BGM selections were good, too.
The episode didn't start until like what… 7 minutes in? Crocodile saves Ace, Oars brings in the ship, and Luffy gets kicked and stabbed.

You should realize the source material for these episodes didn't leave a lot to work with. Most of these chapters were only 15 pages or so (including the title page), and Whitebeard's attack that nobody liked from this episode was a two page spread all by itself, plus a third page of the marines getting blown away by it. I'm impressed that the anime team can actually stretch it out as well as they do.
I personally prefer the short recap system. I find the rest of the episode seems to be better on average when they do it.
What i still don't get they were climbing over Oars body like 12-14 episodes ago to get in to the plaza but suddenly they were all back in the encircle walls and they have to climb over the body again. Did i miss something or can someone explain that?
They were getting blown back by concentrated cannon fire. Even Luffy was blown back off of Oars into the water. The fact that attacks were concentrated on the opening where Oars was got more emphasis in the manga. The anime made it seem a lot more spread out (probably a consequence of filler).

I guess people did dislike the random wind ball at the end of Whitebeard's bisento this chapter eh ?

@No:
I guess people did dislike the random wind ball at the end of Whitebeard's bisento this chapter eh ?
you're talking about the chapter or the anime?
as for the attack they can still fix it.. later.

People call that a long recap…. really what anime's have you watched
-
Episode , my bad :P

I don't get where that ship even came from. I know its underwater…but how the hell did they get it to raise up to the surface?? Were there people already on the ship??
Well if you wanna know how coating works from the manga which would explain how it's done, not very spoilery but it hasn't been in the anime yet so…..
! It's been revealed that the ships are coated with the resign from Saboady, once they are coated they can't float on their own, and move with the tides from there on, and the resign forms a bubble over the ship. Things can pass in and out of the bubble without breaking, however if too many holes are made it will pop.
! So I believe it was Jozu in the manga who was told to get the ship, and all he would have to do is jump in the water(Assuming the ship was tied down to the sea) And he sunk like a hammer until reaching the bubble in the ship, and then did a method to make the ship submerge, which we don't know yet
