Err, not sure if you guys are aware, but Shoneta only'd stated that One Piece will be absent until issue 43. Whether the break will cover 4 issues or One Piece will come back on issue 43 has yet to be cleared up.

This may just be a difference in how the weeks are counted but here's how I'm seeing it right now:
Week 0:Issue 39 (that's this chapter)
Week 1:Issue 40
Week 2:Issue 41
Week 3:Issue 42
week 4:Issue 43(Three straight weeks of no OP, then chapter 598)
Week 5:Issue 44(Four straight weeks of no OP, then chapter 598) -
Aw, that's sad. One piece has become my traditional mid-week reward. Those coming weeks are gonna feel long.. )-:
PS: of course Oda deserves a break and the timing is good and adds suspension but still a month seems awfully far ahead…

The one month break was placed at the right time. To hype what's gonna happen in the future chapters(598-600). To build anticipation and suspense. Feel sorry for the people who posted that they can't handle the break though. It seems as if they don't have a life outside of OP.

Actually, as weird as it sounds, this may be a sweet move for the weekly readers. The reader can get a break, that corresponds a bit with the time the reader will be absent from the actual story. You get a feeling of closure, that a big chunk of the story is over. And you won't be thrown into the post-time skip world from one chapter to the other.
Of course no One Piece for a month sucks, but I still see it as a quite interesting move.
You know Oda planned this shit like that for the sake of his story, you just know it. -
We need to timeskip this month-long break.

The funiest part is? Due to the fact magazines print 3 or 4 weeks in advance before being shipped out? Even though we're just now learning of Oda's break… he's already been on vacation for nearly a month and will be finishing any day now.

The only thing that scares me about this is Luffys voice changing (in the anime). I watched the anime before i read the manga so whenever i read, i always hear Luffys anime voice. Part of what makes me love the series is his voice and it going a little deeper…...is going to seem a little strange initially.
Besides that, im hyped! Ive got Unlimited Cruise 1+2 for my One Piece fix. Good stuff.

They didn't change Goku and Krillin's voice when they became adults (Krillin is even voiced by the same VA as Luffy) so the chances of the voice changing are zero.
