Cool chapter! I loved the parts without dialogue, remind me of the early carefree dragonball adventures! Now the Sabo incident which is to come, is waking my interest. I say Sabo is gonna live, with the celestial dragons arriving, the little guy has extreme potential to become a great character in the future!
Then I have a pretty weird question:
Probably has been asked before, but anyone can explain what the thought bubble of Makino on page 17 is supposed to mean?
Is she scared of Garp to find out and tells Luffy to hush about her visit? Or is she thinking "Garp, what kind of stuff are doing to those kids you moron?" (she should :ninja:), hell, she even might be be hoping for garp to pop up and protect her from the weird bandits in the background.
I absolutely suck at understanding this nonverbal stuff.
If it's the fist option, garp is kinda mean for forbidding the contact to Luffy, seeing how she's the closest to a motherfigure that poor little kid had, dammit. See how Ace reacts when Makino takes his size, it's probably the first time a grown up pays so much attention to him in a good way. But yeah we got it, Garp, stuff like that makes'em "too soft".
But now that Luffy's birthplace is known, I think Makino might not only be a random bartender, but a relative. Since Dragon is kind of a psycho, I say she's from the mom's side.
