Chapter 0 was just an early pilot/one shot for OP. It's not cannon and has nothing to do with the main story line just like the other version in Oda's Wanted.
It is possible he may use some characters in OP like Gyrai or Shiruku but other than that they're not really connected. They did feel like animating that chap tho.

Chapter 0 was the tie-in to Movie 10 and an opportunity to show what the One Piece world was like twenty years ago. The Romance Dawns are the one-shot non-canon prototypes.

Oda has confirmed that the effects water has on a Devil Fruit user only works once the user is submerged in water. And the entire point of a ship is that it is not submerged in water (unless of course it has a leak and is sinking).
Yeah he has a point, I think due to the ship's mass, it would always be somewhat be submerged, but it's nice to dream.

Meaning even in the unlikely scenario that the ship would be weakened it would still not sink because it's very purpose is to do the exact opposite.

When I inhale air, I won't sink water..why do people still sink in OP when they have enough air in their body? It's just not gonna happen, ever. Not even with your ''manga physics''.

Did you actually read the post you just quoted? Because I explained there what water does to a DF user and why it shouldn't really be a bother to a DF ship.
And saying that it won't ever happen is a pretty bold claim for a series such as One Piece. Especially with a character around that is labelled as "Colossal Battleship". :ninja:

Edit: But, do you think Oda has changed the rules a bit since Arlong Park? I think he's taken care of loopholes like that. I mean, if his powers still worked, couldn't he have been able to pull himself out of the water at Enies Lobby? -

like zoro has mihawk, luffy will have BB (don't get all pissed about that statement) i really want sanji to have someone he could eventually get to, i always thought doflamingo would be good, but he seems to be more geared towards fighting luffy and nobody wants sloppy seconds
and of course an actual zoro vs sanji fight created by oda I don't care how he has to do it I've always wanted that, he doesn't have to even finish it he can have someone interfere for all i care just one or two chapters of them fighting
