…the Viz adapted terminology here. I.e. instead of the 'Gum-Gum' adaption I see a lot of people use the 'Gomu-Gomu' fan translated terminology. My question is, why?? You're not really staying any closer to the original Japanese version, if you think about it does not 'gomu' mean rubber?? And 'gum' (as it stretches, no?) does work pretty well and it kind of sounds like the 'gomu' translation.
This stuff kind of annoys me when people tend to stick the the unofficial terms (like how I've seen people translated the lead character of Z Gundam as Kamiyu or Camille, when it was officially spelled Kamille, or people and their usage of Kagebunshin no Juutsu, or whatever it is).
Call me crazy, but it seems more intelligent to use the official terms, at least when they fit original intent, like what rubber/gum/gomu thing is.
P.S. sorry, but the TVs on so I'm distracted, sorry if this makes very little sense...
