It’s a “promotional” series and looks to be something they’ll be “distributing” without mentioning television (i.e., probably streaming from the official SDBH site). There’s a special screening of the first episode at AEON LakeTown in Koshigaya, Saitama, on July 1, but that’s the same day the first episode is supposed to come out anyway.

Ajay the animation guru on YouTube speculates that this is the job they’re sticking Tadayoshi Yamamuro with now that he doesn’t have a major production role in the Super movie.

I'm inclined to agree. Hero school seems to be more akin to a trade school than a more traditional high school, as the students are basically learning the profession from the get-go. I suppose there might be a place for high-level hero study (like the philosophical questions Detective Tsukauchi's sister is studying), but for the people who want to be out on the front lines fighting bad guys, there's not much point.

Do you really need to bother writing it as the archaic spelling? The pronunciation is the same as though it were written with modern orthography (Taishō Otome etc.).

How does Duval's English voice sound? Did they use this perfect opportunity to make fun of Lollipop!Sanji, or did they chicken out and give him a more "normal" voice?

Are they really that hard to tell apart? Or do people just take a glance, classify everything as "Moon Runes", and assume it's in Japanese? I mean, it's self-evident to me, since I can read Japanese and not Korean, but the differences between kanji/kana and hangeul should be pretty obvious by shape alone.

(At any rate, I've got a copy of V-Jump in the mail, so I'll just wait for that.)

What I find strange is that Kazuhiko Torishima looks nothing like Mashirito. I wonder if there are some older pictures showing more of a resemblance, but I couldn't find anything.

The facial resemblance is uncanny. It's just that he changed his hairstyle after the ’80s.

Huh. That was published as its own standalone book in Japan.

But here are all the things that could go into another one-shot compilation:

• Alien Peke (Weekly Shōnen Jump 1996 #37/38 & #39; August 1996)

  • It's available in one of the two Toriyama Akira Mankanzenseki volumes (in bunko format), but has yet to be released in a proper Jump Comics tankōbon. A would-be alien conqueror accidentally crash-lands on Earth and ends up befriending several humans against the developers terrorizing them.

• TokiMecha (Weekly Shōnen Jump 1997 #03/04, #05/06, & #07; December 1996 – January 1997)

  • Toriyama's first attempt at applying shading digitally, and the origin of the character design for the boy who appears in the Neko Majin Z chapters. A girl with a time-machine goes back to the ancient past and meets a caveman. Well, a cave-boy. Hijinks ensue.

• Bubul of Demon Village (Weekly Shōnen Jump 1997 #22/23; April 1997)

  • Toriyama's first entry in the Jump Readers’ Cup competition since 1982, and his first winning entry since Pola & Roid in 1981. It also forms an early prototype of COWA!, his short-term serial immediately following.

• Mahimahi the Lungfish (Weekly Shōnen Jump 1999 #04/05; December 1998)

  • A nine-page, full-color exploration of the everyday life of a lungfish. An atypical work of an "educational" bent.

• HYOWTAM (e-Jump; December 1999)

  • A full-color, storybook-esque tale in a special edition of V-Jump that also included two PlayStation-exclusive CD-ROMs with menus designed by Masakazu Katsura. The magazine also included a feature showing off Toriyama's drawing process at the time (drawing and inking by hand and coloring by computer).

• Dr. Mashirito — Abale-chan (Monthly Jump 2007 #04; March 2007)

  • The first and only Toriyama-drawn sequel to the original Dr. Slump manga. Dr. Mashirito Junior creates "Abale", an "evil" facsimile of Arale, in order to avenge his father. However, much like Obotchaman before her, Abale is not truly evil, and she manages to save the Earth from would-be invading aliens in spite of her bad attitude. This formed the basis of the animated short of the same title, which played before One Piece movie #8, and actually opened before the manga version officially went on sale.

• Kintoki: Toki of the Golden-Eyed Tribe (Weekly Shōnen Jump 2010 #50; November 2010)

  • A short tale of apparent discrimination against people with "golden eyes", as well as the redemption(?) of a self-proclaimed Venusian who is a transparent fraud of a fortune-teller. The latter character makes a cameo in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman.

There are also two joint works, which may be disqualified by their nature as collaborations with other authors, but would still be nice to see:

• This is the Police Station in front of Dragon Park on Planet Namek (with Osamu Akimoto; Super Kochikame, September 2006)

  • A special gag chapter in celebration of Kochikame’s 30th anniversary, with Ryō-san encountering Freeza on Planet Namek. It's a semi-sequel to a two-page "epilogue" from Weekly Shōnen Jump 1990 #17, available in Kochikame volume 69.

• Cross Epoch (with Eiichirō Oda; Weekly Shōnen Jump 2007 #05, December 2006)

  • A "dream team" collaboration nearly four years in the making, and well-loved by fans of both series. It's been reprinted a few times in various places since then, including the One Piece 10th Treasures "mook", and the digital edition of the Weekly Shōnen Jump 45th anniversary issue (which also contained the first chapter of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman).

usually I'm not the kind of person saying prayers onto the heavens, but right now I have an issue only you can help me.

These days I was reading volume 3 of Toriyama short stories and I really did enjoy it. For example Chobit seemed to have quite some potential. However, I had one big problem with it. When reading it I already was quite at the end of the volume knowing that whenever I'm finished that'll be all from it. Instead we just get these silly and stupid movies I don't even find words to describe properly.

I beg thee, let lightning struck down from the heavens upon everyone preventing me from getting more Chobit!

The last installment of Chobit (Chobit 2) was in Fresh Jump, 32 years ago this month. I have a feeling you'll be waiting for quite a while….
(And also, both chapters of Chobit were actually included in volume 1 of _Akira Toriyama's _____piece Theatre, not 3. Although I did hear somewhere that the German edition published the books out of order.)
That said, Toriyama has drawn enough one-shots from 1996 onwards to compile into a fourth volume of the ______piece Theatre series. There just doesn't seem to be the will to actually do it at Shueisha.
