    • RE: How long do you sleep?

      I just plain old can't understand people that sleep until like noon or later. People always complain about there not being enough time off to do stuff that's fun, and then they just sleep it all away? Please. That's absurd. Sleep is a huge waste of time.

      Myself, on weekdays I usually go to bed at around 11 and wake up at 5:30. On weekends I sleep around midnight or so and set my alarm clock to 7. If I ever, by some freak occurence, wake up at like 10, I'm in a funk for the rest of the day because I can't get those wasted hours out of my head. So I guess I get 6 to 7 hours of sleep a night. I wish I could get by on less, but I really abhor coffee and the idea of getting addicted to caffeine (my parents need 5 cups of coffee just to wake up in the morning and then like one every hour for the rest of the day, it's disgusting) so I guess I need to take a hit somewhere.

      Protip: Those Tetris themes are played in the Luigi's Mansion level.

      Also, the WarioWare music fits fantastically well for the level, since with all of its screwed up eclectic action it needs some really messed up music to play there. I really loathe Mona Pizza, but Mike's Song and Ashley's Song fit fantastically for it. And if you don't like those, they have a couple of medleys of WarioWare tunes to check out that are really quite good.

      In speaking of Warioman: he's a monster, probably one of the best FSs in the game if you can use him. He's invincible, doesn't even take damage like Giga Bowser, and can pick up items, unlike Giga Bowser or ROB or basically any other transformation. Also, any midair attack but his nair and dair all make him go up a little bit, so if you hold up and mash the attack button he just claps a billion times and flies straight up. It's seriously deadly. His only downside is the FS is unfortunately quite short-lived, about the same length as Giga Bowser and maybe 3/4 the length of ROB or Rocketbarrel Boost, but he's pretty good at getting the Smash Ball so whatever.

      Sorry it's been like two weeks and I still don't have that one requested video of Pokemon Trainer, but I can't figure this damn camera out. To compensate, I took some videos of Wario and a couple of other characters as well.

      Interestingly enough, Pilaf and Buggy have the same voice actor in Japan. I don't know if that has anything to do with your paper, but it might work as a comparison if you're headed in that direction.

      @Jay_n_Silentbob:

      I just wanted to point something out here:

      http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e319/Jay_n_Silentbob/POKEWTFMOEMONS.jpg

      That Darkrai is lvl 70. Do you people see this?

      Now, look at that float weasel; he is lvl 29.

      What kind of sick fucker would do such a thing to a harmless little go getter like him? I ask you

      Serves the little shit right, I hate Floatzels unconditionally though I couldn't tell you why
      I just look at them and I go grrr

      Team of 6 Electabuzz is where its at

      @Kidany:

      If you don't mind, I'd like to see a match with Pokemon Trainer. It doesn't matter who the opponent is. I haven't really seen many videos with him, and I'd like to see more of what he's can do. Main thing I'd want to look at is how much that stamina thing affects each pokemon. Thank you in advance.

      Sure, no problem. I just have to figure out how to work this digital camera first, will probably do so this weekend.

      So, finished the main storyline of SSE today with my brother (still only 88% done, though). The last level is absurdly long, we finished like 30% of the game in that one level, but it was fun, we tag-teamed Ganondorf and Bowser for most of it. Unlocked Ganondorf and Sonic, so now the only characters I don't have are Wolf, Toon Link, and Jigglypuff.

      Quick impressions of new characters:

      • ROB is very fun to play and surprisingly good. His UB allowing him to fly makes his air combos potentially really long, I juggled my brother around with him for a while today. Didn't get to test his FS out all that well, though, since we were in New Pork City and the little bastard kept running away.
      • Lucario is good. Not my personal flavor, but certainly dangerous. The FS is kind of ridiculously good, very difficult to miss with honestly. Doesn't play like Mewtwo in the slightest, I can find no similiarities beyond a similar look to the B moves (and they really only look similar, trust me).
      • G&W is infinitely better than Melee, at least to me. His UB actually covers some distance, and you float for a bit after using it.
      • Although he's a clone, Ganondorf doesn't feel like one at all. I don't know whether it's just how different he looks or the minute differences in attacks, but I get a completely different vibe when I play with him as with Captain Falcon. His attacks are also much longer ranged.
      • Sonic is very fast, but I haven't been able to do much in the way of dealing damage… I only played 2 rounds with him, but his attacks do little damage and have very little knockback. He's definitely fun to play, though, and really hard to kill.

      @mkoopman:

      Does anyone know if Diddy can cartwheel jump in this game like he can in DKC?

      No he can't, unfortunately. It's one of the first things I tried with him too, haha.

      Played a lot more today with my brother. We unlocked Lucario, Snake, ROB, and Game and Watch, though I only got a chance to play as Snake in a real fight that wasn't in SSE. Also unlocked Luigi's Mansion, which is a hell of a lot of fun.

      More notes:

      • Saw a Gray Fox AT. He is interesting in that he cannot die; the only time we ever got a Waluigi AT he fell off right away and didn't come back, but whenever Gray Fox dies he just teleports back onto the screen to kick more ass.
      • Snake is really hard to control at first because his jumps are really short and he falls rather quickly, making his aerial attacks somewhat difficult to pull off, but he's definitely fun. You will end up accidentally hurting yourself with all the mines and C4 bombs though, haha.
      • Captain Falcon's moves are all similar, but it feels like he got a big revamp to me (he was my most-played character in Melee, though). His UAir hurts more and has more knockback, the knee is harder to connect with, and he's a lot slower, but on the bright side his B attacks are much faster and more useful in general.
      • From what I played of him in SSE, ROB is quite good. Although he looks rigid in gameplay videos, he feels quite smooth in actual gameplay; the exact opposite of Snake, who seems smooth on video and is rather unweildy when you actually play.

      Also, my camera may have the ability to take videos now (I'll figure out for sure this weekend), so if anyone has any specific requests of matches for me to tape my brother and I having I should probably be able to record them.

      I'm pretty sure the voice of Hades in that was the polar opposite of James Woods, i.e. not an incredible jackass badass.

      And oh my god I forgot how shitty the animation on that show was.

      @Taleran:

      have you got to try the new special melee?

      low grav? bunny hoods?

      Oh man, no! We honestly haven't had all that much time to play these last two days, with school and all, so we've been pressd just to do regular Melee and Subspace and 100-man Melee and event matches, so I actually completely forgot about this. I'll definitely have to do this tomorrow, we'll have lots of free time then.

      @Komrade:

      I think that's Kuririn or whatever, y'know that helicopter-duck game. I think I remember seeing it as an AT.

      Oh, okay, cool. We haven't actually played Classic mode yet, so I've yet to see the end credits with all the ATs, so I didn't know.

    • RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII

      When I played today, I saw an Assist Trophy I'm not sure I'd heard being talked about before. It was like a large spinning platform with a circle in the middle, no face or anything, just a slow-spinning platform (might have been blue, might have been yellow, can't remember) floating for a while. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I got it during an event match, so it's possible that it might just be a byproduct of that event match, so I don't know.

      Unlocked Luigi, Falco, and Captain Falcon today, so I figure I'll just name some things about the game that I've noticed as I've been playing:

      • Not only can you grab items in mid-air by air-dodging, you can grab them from basically anywhere by using your dash attack into them. This is surpisingly hard to get used to.
        -There is no more fast-throwing of items (like with the c-stick in Melee). Any item thrown always goes at the same speed, and the c-stick just makes you smash attack with that item.
        -I know it's been said over and over, but my god is this game ever slower. I made the mistake of playing as Dedede after hours of playing as Falcon in Melee when I first got it and I felt totally paralyzed. It's really difficult to get used to, but overall I think I prefer it - it kind of just lets you take in the visuals easier, and allows for some more WHOA WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT SO COOL moments.
      • Subspace is loooooong. My brother and I played it almost religiously yesterday afternoon and today's afternoon and we're only 38% through or so.
      • Olimar's FSmash is a Pikmin toss, and so is his fb, so he is an absolute animal if you can keep away from your opponent. I took out like three stocks of my brother's while hardly losing 50% during one of our matches by just throwing the little bastards at him and running away.
      • Sakurai kind of exaggerated, Warioman's chopper is not instant-KO fast. It is quick enough, though, that you need to jump off quite quickly if you hope not to die when you use it.
      • You can unlock things by doing the co-op equivalent of them (my brother and I unlocked Falco by doing 100-man Brawl on co-op).
      • Wario Waft, when fully charged, makes Wario glow a little bit. If you use this, it's an absolutely absurdly good recovery - when testing it out on a group of enemies in 100-man Brawl, I came really close to flying so high above the screen I would have died, it took me forever to land.
      • Falco and Fox are nothing alike. It's hard to explain, but playing as them, none of their moves really seem similar enough to count as clone material.

      Keep in mind that this is coming from a largely casual player, so this won't mean alot to the competitive types here, but I figured people might want to know some about items and stuff since we haven't heard too much about those.

      @maxterdexter:

      In order to discover the 2nd layer mistery, if there is more than 11 Fire Emblem songs, try out and document the ATs and Pokeballs, take a lot of pictures of your challenges screen.

      Please 😉

      For ATs, off the top of my head, I remember seeing Knuckle Joe, Saki, Kat and Ana, Dr. Wright, Nintendog, and maybe some more but I can't remember.

      For Pokeballs, I remember Metagross, Gardevoir, Munchlax (fucker ate my stickers), Wobuffet, Ho-Oh, Meowth, Groudon, and that's all I remember though there were definitely more.

      For the challenges screen, do you mean the Air Ride-esque unlocking thing? Sure I'll take pictures, but I can't even read what it says.

      And I've only unlocked 2 songs, Rainbow Road and Theme of Solid Snake, so no word on Fire Emblem yet.
