    • RE: Chapter 440 "Fire Fist vs. Blackbeard" Discussion

If anything, this chapter does not downgrade BB crew, rather, it puts Ace on equal terms with the most powerfull guys in the OP world. Surely, right now he is a rookie in this realm, but just the fact that WB confides in him for a mission such as this, Shanks seeing Ace as a promising guy (although trying to protect him from what he knows to be a bigger shark) and BB telling his crew to back off shows that Ace is, indeed, in the bottom or middle of the top league.

That, howerver, does not change the fact that guys like Garp, Aokiji, Sengoku, Mihawk, Kizaru, WB, Shanks, Dragon and a few others yet to be revealed are the parameters nowadays.

And although I agree Ruffy´s crew is somewhere nearer BB´s after the Enies Lobby incident, it´s exageration to say they could tie with them. I guess they would be easily owned at this point, actually. There is a progression to be followed in the Manga and even Usopp, who is the fartest from his direct antagonist in BB crew in terms of power today, will probably follow and respect this rule as the story goes on.

Anyway, about the chapter iself, I must say it was really nice to see how well ODA developed BB ambitions and reasons. And BB is not the typical villain in a manga, neither in design nor in personality. Him taking Ace´s atack on purpose was quite the sight. I barely can wait to see next chapter ownage.

    • RE: Brazilian Offical Conrad releases

Well, these are small details anyway. What left me in rage was when the revision left Norland being called Clicket, as if they were the same character. That was the first serious mistake I can remember. And as the translation and adaptation really got more light-tonned (wich was actually better), the number of errors grew insanely and exploded on this last one. And it is not lack of capability, since the same publisher does a wonderfull job with Vagabond, Sanctuary, Blade and Slam Dunk. Only OP seems to be badly treated.

The fact is, the quality of revision and translation dropped absurdly. And that is that last thing that can happen to a manga. I could survive the change in the paper type. But I can not survive what is happening nowadays with the manga…

    • RE: Robin stronger than we expected?

Well, let me refresh some people´s mind around here:

Robin was a villain when she said "strenght can´t beat me". Well, a villain has to be a badass. That was a artistic choice. I think she knew strenght could beat her, she was just confident, spreading terror and had never found someone capable of defeating her "with strength alone" (or found but did not have to fight against, in the shitibukai I can name a few that had abnormal strenght in sufficient amount to beat her).

About the part wich is subject to this present discussion, all I have to say is that escape have lot´s of meanings here. Above all, what Aokiji was trying to say is "why did you not betray your companions this time?".

    • RE: Sanji and Capoeira: The Next Step

Well, about known capoeira users in pop art:

There was Eddy Gordo (Who is the best portray of it)
A guy/chick in the new KOF XI is using it
There was a guy in Real Bout Fatal Fury that had a good frame but "stiff" atacks
There´s a manga about a girl that uses it
There was an ancient movie "The Quest" with Van Damme that had one

Anyway, The history of it is as follows:

The slaves were brought from Africa. Once in Brasil, they trained a martial art that did not need any weapons besides the body itself, disguising it as a dance, in order to escape and/or defend themselves. Primaly it was kick based, with lots of body turns in order to break the neck in the first/second kick. So, true capoeira is basically this, lot´s of evasion with roundhouse kicks to kill/take out/dominate. When they managed to run away, these slaves gathered themselves in villages far and deep in jungles/wilderness protected by these so called "warriors" that knew capoeira. Important about it is that it´s not exactly a fighting technique, it´s was meant to kill/take out/dominate in the first blow, they trained in order to make everything happen fast, since their enemies had fire weapons. Nowadays, Capoeira is sort of a dance/recreation/sport. If you train with it, you get lot´s of mobility and a really powerfull kick, but it´s probably not on par with true martial arts (just like judo, if you use only that, teorically you can not kick and punch, so you need support from other things, but then it´s jiu-jitsu or something else, not judo).

PS: Sanji is a mix of lot´s of martial arts and has a french style. So, I think his style is already enough well portraied…

    • RE: Whitebeard's Flag to Be Changed?! (Ch. 434 Tidbit)

That´s plain sad actually. If instead of eliminating it, they used it to promote a change and weaken a symbol that today still corrupt people, it would be better. I mean, the world has lots of cultures, and a good way to promote tolerance is to make cultural exchange and become closer. Diminishing or destroying the meaning behind the swastika and making it a token from the past is a good way to rid ourselves from fear. To much symbols taken seriously and here is where humanity got…

And I always thought that artistic freedom should have no boundaries...

PS: I know that manji is not a swastika. But their origin is entertwined, so it would be better to teach the true origins of the symbol at school and how and why was it corrupted. The truth is always the best way to promote comprehension and respect.

    • RE: The strongest logia user?

      We can suppose this:

1: although different in nature, every Logia, if mastered, is of the same level. Initially not, but later as the power is developed, yes (I think that is not the case).

      OR:

2: Logias abilitys can grant different natural levels of strenght. This is more likely (although less cool).

      Anyway:

If I had to say who is the strongest Logia so far, I must say it´s Aokiji. He is a supreme admiral, meaning he is on par with guys like Whitebeard and that´s a fact.

Now, about wich logia fruit is better, that´s hard to answer, but I still stick to the hie hie fruit. To lower temperature is a dreadfull ability. Theorically you can beat anything with this. Supose Aokiji could lower temperatures from 32.000 Cº (wich is the maximun temperature lighting can generate) to somewhere around - 273,5 º. That would mean instant defeat for Ener for example….
