I just hit my foot real hard against the table leg, now my toes have some kind of violet shade and it hurts like hell. Is there any way to tell if I have broken something or if it's just sprain? Because it's weekend and it would kind of suck if I had to go to the emergency ward. :sad:

Havoc, can you move your toes? Depends on the degree of the break of course, but if they aren't really severly displaced, my understanding is that generally speaking they can't do much for broken toes anyway–they usually just tape them together, and offer you pain meds, as far as I know--maybe suggest ice and soaking with epson salts as well. Can you try calling your doc and get some advice about it over the phone?

Well I can't really move them, which sucks because I wanted to help a friend this week with moving. I hope it'll be better until then. I will try to get my doctor on the phone tomorrow I have taped it right now as much as I could but my toes are bent and that makes running around a bit tedious.

Both my sister and I broke the same toe on the opposite foot, around the same time last Summer. XD; Taping them together is the best solution I am afraid :< Hope you feel better soon!

How long can you be inactive on an account before deletion again? I know it's got to be at least a year because Windrays was apparently gone for nearly that long and still had his account in good standing. But then I saw a random post by a person (can't remember who or where unfortunately) who said they'd been absent from AP for years… yet their account seemed fine. So is account deletion done manually or automatically?

I've recently read a ton of things about the Chernobyl accident. There was an article where the people who died were listed. There was this sentence: "he looked directly to the open reactor core"
Why is it so important that he looked into it? I mean, it would be enough if he was just standing there, wouldn't it? -
The problem is that the eye sockets are a very sensitive and unprotected area directly connected to the brain via the nerve system. Now the only barrier that is between the eyes and your nervous system is your retina and your choroid membrane, so it's nothing but water and protein.
If you try to stare into a reactor core the radiation wave will hit you head on, and while your skin ensures some sort of protection your eyes don't, the radiation will get straight to the core of your nervous system and shut it down, basically you would die within a single neural impulse.But looking at the sentence I doubt that he looked directly into it while standing anywhere near it .You can't get within miles of an exposed nuclear reactor core without your skin melting from your bones, I suspect he took an unlucky shot the moment the core vault exploded when the meltdown reached its peak.

You'd have to open it up in an image editing program, like GIMP, and insert a transparency and then delete the background. Also you have to make it the exact size that'll fit in the box because if the forum resizes it it'll get rid of the background.
