I'm just going to say that from my own personal perspective and hand-wringing is silly. It doesn't matter where a user is coming from if they're interested in being an engaged, productive member of the community. More activity is good, and any toxicity will be filtered out just like it always has been.

Are you just gonna throw out the excellent possibility for a lover from the wrong side of the track dynamic with these people. Maybe even a trading places story where we can place bets on if an OJ:er can pass for AP nobility if given the opportunity. Buuut sure it's all fine, i mean it's not like they are one piece youtubers atleast. Given time maybe their second generation AP kids will be picking on the next migration wave which is clearly worse than the good ol' OJ immigrants who came before them

You mean the very thing that made the admins of OJ forced to close down the site?
I mean yea, APforums isn't pretty, colorful or visually appealing like OJ but none of that has anything to do with the actual level of content and discussions. OJ has always produced some of the worst OP content online.
While the mods aren't that active (yes, they have their own stuff shocking), the quality control is FAR better here. There is a reason why a random yahoo can't make a thread about their daily brain farts here and get likes and praise for those brain farts.

As for it closing down, I think it was bound to happen.
The forum started to focus FAR too much on themes, visuals and other stuff that would be harder to sustain financially long-term. If there were any good stuff from that site, then I would feel something upon hearing this news, especially since I joined the site before it became what it is now, but I can't say I do.
For the OJ members that are joining or have joined, I do hope you realize that this site doesn't work on the same "post whatever bullshit you want" like OJ. Make sure to read the older threads to understand some of the discussions.

I think most of those who are interested in a new forum will migrate to NF eventually once their ego( on posting about OP in a Naruto forum
)cool down, unless the remnants manage to built a new site up.Honestly, those who got engaged in forum chatting after 2010 would find it hard to settle here.AP has the feels of old school message 'board' which won't suit most of them.I just hope in the meantimes, old bullies will be properly reigned this time to discourage a newcomer, no matter how outlandish theory he/she makes.

Hello, I'm from Oro Jackson. It's closing because of the funds but also the fact they don't have time and resources to run such complicated framework any longer.
I for one very much liked that on Oro Jackson even the die-hard power-scaling fans were expressing their opinions. It made discussions a lot more interesting and really allowed you to look at things from a different perspective (and I say that as one of the people who isn't really nitpicking or powerscalling). This way forum was lively and active!
Maybe when refugees from Oro Jackson will come here a little bit of that open and colorful culture will come here as well ლ(•ω •ლ)
Though I must admit I'm just at the begining of explorng Arlong Park.
Trying to find a place for myself before OJ sinks to the bottom of the ocean

But it's a choice whether you visit those threads or not. And if people want to discuss power scalling then let them - If they do spam indeed then as far as I remember there is a report button? People should be allowed to discuss whatever parts of the story they want Ψ(｀▽´)Ψ

But from what I see above this forum was once not a saint too. Sounds like a good story!

I honestly don't know what's so interesting about seeing some dumb teenager point out how many panels did a character appear in and come up with a shitty theory around that. All the while everyone else pat them on their backs and they all enjoy their lack of intellect together.
I assume you haven't been to any real message boards where the content is much more focused on quality then shitposting and kindergarten antics.

Well I had for a small amount of time a previous Zoro themed account… It wasn't banned but I dropped it for my current name

I just always equated the site to being like Cinema Sins, fun occasionally but try to take anything they say serious and most posters there lack critical thinking, media literacy and flat out ignore or seem like they don't read the series.
That and tons of problematic/toxic posters that never got banned.

I at both and have even more posts at NF becaue of the DB section… But no just no. But maybe you like it more becase it is closer to OJ not even in engine but also how the discussions are... Have fun after the next Zoro chapter and the threads will come.

I'm not suprised that you feel that way. AP is a calm forum with an old userbase, it is for good or bad vastly different from what i understand OJ to be. Personally i find what you enjoy to be annoying, but as a 30 year old man it'd be weird if i felt more at home with a bunch of youngsters. Like we have this one guy in the nakama thread trying his damndest to stir the pot and get a rise out of people but AP users are too jaded to take his bait so he just spins in circles, i'd imagine that such a thing works better at NF or OJ due to the younger userbase

Honestly, I think that I finally get gentrification with AP, as in my life I am the gentrifier not the gentrified.
Like how could you not want the shitton of money that will come with the influx of tourism and international companies? Because I like the way things are, and I shouldn't change anything because the world is changing.
Granted, as an expat, If things started to change in a displeasing way I'd take my short roots and leave, again, If I had valuable real state like them it would be easier.
But back to AP, too much change is not what the community wants or needs, specially without economic incentives, or comodities we are missing.

I like it here. It's chill, there are nice people and I kinda sorta spent a ton of my time here in my teenage years, one of the few places where I felt comfortable.
Isn't it like an old pirate ship with some newcomers, but mostly and established crew, not wanting to get One Piece but still sailing around and having adventures?
