I was under the impression that Garp used Armament Hardening during Chinjao’s flashback…but I can’t check it right now.

I too think that Oda’s fire effects are really charmy and they just stand up whenever they are used (even in b&w). I like it best with this “painted” feeling, in opposition to Robby’s suggestion of adding glow and neon colors to it - it just feel more cohesive as a picture to me. The glow also reminds me of Marvel coloring, which most of the times I find really plastic and unattractive.

Oda’s Ice effects are cooler in b&w, though. Kazan seems to be riding a really pale wave instead of an ice avalanche lol

As it is not the first time Oda fixed his own agenda to meet readers favorite (Law having a major role over Kid a consequence of it, just like Carrot at Wholecake was to accomplish some editor or staff's preference if I remember it right), do you think there's a slightly possibility some of this poll unexpected top characters will have major roles? I mean, Carrot still placing 8th could assure her some role in the upcoming storylines (not talking about crew joining, just screentime), just as much as Mr 2 or Perhona. Not talking about Crocodile, as the fact he still appears reading about Luffy's bounties clearly scream "I'll be back sooner or later".

On a side note, I find interesting Oda burden himself to fit a lot of characters which he shouldn't have depicted (most of supernovas, Kaido, BM and Teach, some of Warlords) just to portray whole plot relevant teams, but chose to not fit any admiral near Kuzan. I know he's a "former admiral", but the Warlords formation here is the old one too (lack of Weeble).

Dang, I ordered all three issues for the full poster, but now I'm wondering if it would be easier to just print that right there. The resolution seems high enough to get a decent size out of it.

I really like the final product. When taken for what it is, that being a showcase for a ton of characters as opposed to a standard color spread, I think it succeeds wonderfully. It'll make for a cool poster to have in a hallway or something.

You can buy the three Jump issues online though the prices tend to jump a lot after an issue is a week or two old, I tried to get the OP 999 and 1000 chapter a bit too late.

This seems like the sort of thing they're bound to make a real poster or a wall scroll out of eventually though.

Yeah, for better or worse, it's not always clear who's meant to be a major character and who isn't.

Carrot even got higher than some of the Straw Hats and even right above Luffy's brother who sacrificed himself at Marineford. Nothing about Carrot strikes as quite that profound to get into the top 10, but of course, people are free to vote what who they feel best deserves it after all.

Ace has been dead a while so I dont hold it against him. Beating Katakuri surprised me more because I feel he also has the recency factor but had a bigger role. I guess she truly is the new Handcock.

Well, there was active campaigning for Carrot, and since the site had some design flaws that allowed multiple votes, it's not unthinkable that there were some cheaters voting.

There was that animation of vote evolution, and Carrot was clearly getting a lot of votes in sprints (like, lots of people suddenly voting for her between periods of slower progress), especially near the end. Remember that Carrot jumped from 17th(?) place (not sure) in the midterm results preview to 8th in the final results, while most other Top 20s didn't get such big shifts.

Well, I'm not surprised he's seen as such a darling for how he helped out Law after his tragedy which including him hiding amongst dead bodies. It also helps that Law is also pretty popular to begin with.

There's quite a few minor characters missing from the poll, it's wasn't entirely complete but they had to draw the line somewhere.
