Well if they played the movie with a sense of seriosity the cliches would've bothered me.
But since it's played for fun i can just sit back and enjoy great lines like -In the words of my generation up yours!

Now THAT was a funny review. And I don't even think ID4 is THAT bad. Not great, but there's definitely worse out there.
But his:
! Bit about the alien going, "Stephanie? Is that you!?" had me rolling on the floor.
I don't give a fuck about what anyone says–Independence Day is one of the most entertaining so-stupid-it's-awesome movies ever made.
I laughed my ass off at the "Alien poker scene" .
Holy Christ that was funny .
I enjoyed that movie as a kid, but I can see it being terrible movie too. Lots of stuff in ta review I didn't bother thinking about.
Well, the review certainly reinforced my general opinion that ID was a $100 million Ed Wood movie.
Because, really, when a movie with such a bad script doesn't have a highly talented special effects crew to save its ass, they end up a lot like Jaws 3 or Battlefield Earth–a complete embarassment to all involved.
Me and Shmeckie have a thing called "Bad Movie Thursdays" where we usually dig up any movie that just looks weird or horrible and just riff the hell out of it for fun. We've seen shit like Skinned Deep, Tromeo and Juliet and The Astro Zombies, today's feature was Battlefield Earth.
Watching the NC review isn't quite enough, I recommend everyone experience that God-awful garbage at least once, with a friend, its quite an experience to say the least.
We both had to shout "SPELL YOUR NAME" right on cue with Travolta's character, nerdy but oh so hilarious.
New episode of Cinema Snob is out, "Island of Death"….

Brad also got his review for Twlight's Eclipse.

As well Brad tries 18 years old Crystal Pepsi

Brad also tries Cola Turka
http://thecinemasnob.com/2010/07/08/brad-tries-cola-turka.aspx
I have a new tagline for Island of Death.
"It has goat fucking!"
And we've all been waiting for this one, Spoony's vlog review of Twilight: Eclipse
http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/07/08/vlog-7-8-10-eclipse-review/
I liked how hard Spoony tried to "get" Twilight.
I have never seen the movies, read the books or haven't even followed the whole thing very closely. Just going "oh, young emo girls/boys like it" and happily leave them to it. I wonder if we will really go 15 years in the future like Spoony predicts: "What the hell were we thinking???"
Island of death seemed incredibly trashy . Stil can't beat Superman : the Musical .
But poor poor goat :(
Anyways Brad should review Vase de Noces . Ya know , the movie with simulated pig fucking and real killing of piglets . It's completely silent too so he can get the German DVD that got/is going to be released .

He's right, y'know. Battlefield Earth is that special kind of surreally bad that everyone should see it to help shape their perspective on what "bad" is.
Omg when is Linkara gonna come out with the next HOPR? It's been over a month and i'm dyin here…
@Yonkou#3:

He's probally going to just watch all of the other seasons.
History of the Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue is now out.
http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com/2010/07/history-of-power-rangers-power-rangers.html
As Linkara said, In Space was when he stopped watching the series. Everything from Mighty Morphin until In Space he did quickly because he remembered them.
Now he has to view each series individually and do work on that. Plus, he also has AT4W to take care of and that's top priority.
Y ruler of time reviews Bakuman.
Is it me or does the video seem to abrupt at around 20 minutes in? Its seemed like he had more to talk about.
I think the video cut out at the end. I know mine did, it abruptly ended mid-sentence.
Sometimes happens with these videos , on the nerd's reviews it sometimes ended the video after like 20 seconds and asked if I wanted to "replay" it , cause it thought it had shown everything .
I say wait a bit .

Yeah i know but i figured a month would be more than enough time for him to finish 1, maybe too considering that lost galaxy which he also had to watch all the eps of took less time than that. I mean i watched all the eos of shinkenger in a little over a week between a full time job, friends and studying for school…. BUT BLESS HIS HEART THANK GOD IT'S FINALLY OUT. I didnt even like lightspeed to be honest, but these reviews are just amazing.
He also has to find it , order it , recieve it , refund anything that's broken/dammaged :P
And it probably costs him money for shit he has no emotional interest to rewatch , unlike the other shows he watched as a kid .
Lightspeed Rescue was my first PR series, so I have some nostalgia for it.

But all the eps afre online at power rangers planet for free…
And you sure that's legit ?

Idk, they are hosted on megavideo. You tell me.
Don't forget that Power Rangers DVDs only come in 3-4 episode packs. Rather than full seasons.
The best way to get the footage is through sites like MegaVideo.

Sadly the only season that had a complete dvd release over here in the U.S was Operation Overdrive gags. The only thing good about Operation Overdrive was Ronnie and Rose (the yellow and pink rangers) and Spencer.
More Linkara goodness

No surprise! He really likes the series. How could anyone not?
New Critic is up, The Room!

Be afraid.
I like how Y Ruler of Time both reviews and likes series I translate…
Nostagia Critic's nostalgic critique of "The Room" is out:

I loled hard at the new NC .
That is bad acting .
Oh good God. This movie drove me into depression as a kid… I could not explain why, until now.
Oh God that movie looks horrible. I can't believe I've never heard of it before. I kinda feel sorry for this Tommy person. He must be ridiculed for life now.
"I did not hit her I did not. Oh hi Mark."
I absolutely loved Tommy Wiseau's "acting". It was like something out of 3rd Rock from the sun, where the aliens would try acting like humans.
Woooooooow, that's a bad movie.
"There are middle school plays that put on better performances!"
Damn straight, my 8th grade production of The Mikado was prime entertainment. Especially when one of the kids did the whole thing in faux British accent.
Woooooooow, that's a bad movie.
My thoughts exactly.
I loved the cameos from the other TGWTG-members desperately trying to convince him not to sit through the whole movie. It's like, not only is it so horrible that the Critic has a hard time retaining his sanity though the whole thing, the others are actually attempting to save him from watching it. Worst movie he's ever reviewed? Maybe not, but it's got to be in the top 5.
Nah, it's still nowhere near as horrible as Garbage Pail Kids. THAT movie is sickening to watch. This movie is just funny bad.
It's official: Tommy Wiseau is such a bad director that he makes Uwe Boll look like Steven Spielberg. Never have I been both disgusted and amused by bad acting at the same time. It's even harder to take Wiseau's character seriously with his accent, too.
So. Should we start preparing for our new seahorse overlords?
Top 11 mindfucks: best video ever (cause I like weird stuff)
Haha, I seen the Room twice earlier this year, he pretty much hit the funniest scenes though I dunno pretty much the whole movie was making me laugh from it's bad acting and so on.
Some things NC didn't note (or I missed):
And there's more football scenes and such, seriously they don't stop tossing that damn ball around.
I absolutely loved Tommy Wiseau's "acting". It was like something out of 3rd Rock from the sun, where the aliens would try acting like humans.
Admitedly the show got more and more boring , from what I remember , once the whole "alien" thing receded into the background and barely got a mention it was just another sit com .
As for the movie : have you actualy read up on it ? Actors say the script was originaly much longer and much worse .
Hell the thing was financed by importing leather jackets from Korea .
Without any studio support, Wiseau spent over $7 million on production and marketing for the film. Wiseau promotes the film as a black comedy and insists that its humor is actually intentional, although cast members have publicly disputed these claims
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20246031_2,00.html
Many lines of dialogue (especially those of Wiseau's) in the film are dubbed, with the audio often not synching to the mouth movements onscreen. The original script was actually much longer than the shooting script and contained numerous wordy monologues and more irrelevant information
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20246031,00.html
Greg Ellery has claimed that Juliette Danielle, the actress who portrayed Lisa, was 18 years old and just "off the bus from Texas" when shooting began;[10] Ellery also claims that on the first day of shooting, "the cast watched in horror" as Wiseau jumped on Danielle and immediately began filming their "love scene"
http://blog.rifftrax.com/2009/06/12/rifftrax-interview-with-the-rooms-greg-ellery/
Though he is apparently in college, it is never quite clear if Denny is a fully functioning adult, mainly due to his ignorance of social norms.[21] When asked about Philip Haldiman's portrayal of Denny, Wiseau stated: "I think he brought a lot stuff. One thing was he's really retarded a little bit." Asked if Denny was written that way, Wiseau says he did so "Indirectly, so he's confused."
http://www.avclub.com/articles/tommy-wiseau,29598/
What does that even mean ?
Originally, the film's marketing materials included phrases like "A film with the passion of Tennesee Williams [sic]."
And anyone notice this ?
In a scene where Lisa tries to seduce Mark, he asks her why she has provided music, candles, and a sexy dress, yet there are no music or candles in the scene
@robbybedfart:
So. Should we start preparing for our new seahorse overlords?
Indeed. This is it folks, male pregnancy is the wave of the future.
…Uh, anyway, about The Room. I've heard about it and I've seen a few scenes from it, but I still can't believe how awful this movie is. I think I'll have to take up the Critic's advice and actually watch it at some point.
@No:
And anyone notice this ?
I did, thanks to RiffTrax.
During the scene Kevin asked "and what music, can he hear the soundtrack? Is he God?"
And from a clip of a live screening, one of the popular riffs goes like this:
Mark: The candles…
Audience: WHAT CANDLES?
Mark: The music...
Audience: WHAT MUSIC?
Mark: The sexy dress...
Audience: WHAT SEXY DRESS?
Well the dress can be sort of kind of sexy given preferences .
Also love how the breats cancer issue gets ignored completely and how they have to dub over the protagonist/writer/director/producer cause he talks too long .
I mean usualy this kind of productional omnipotence assures no one can do that kinda shit .
I've actually seen this movie multiple times. I love it. I fucking love "so bad it's hilarious" movies like this, and this movie cracks me up every time. Fittingly, this was one of the funniest NC reviews I've seen in awhile. And that's saying something.
This is for anyone that watches Linkara's history on Power Rangers is curious on how the final battle went in Zyuranger. The kid is Bandora's (Rita) son, resurrected by Satan (Lokar).
pk9nKxyQNws
If Linkara saw this, I can totally see him saying that the part at 3:13 was disturbing.
Great episode! It actually managed to live up to the hype that I had for it! The sea horse part was kinda weird, though; it felt out of place.
So, yeah. The Room. My sister's been quoting that movie to me for months, and sure enough almost every line was used in the review "I did not hit her! It's not true! It's bullshit! I did not hit her! I did NAAAHT! Ohhaimark." "Hello, doggy!" "You are tearing me apart Lisa!" I just wish he included Mark's "You can fall off the face of the Earth for all I care. That's a promise!"
@Satsuki:
Nah, it's still nowhere near as horrible as Garbage Pail Kids. THAT movie is sickening to watch. This movie is just funny bad.
IT WILL NEVER LEAVE, IT WILL NEVER LEAVE!!
