It's been a while, but hey! Here's another from Lindsay!

Don't know how many of you follow Suede, but after a fairly long hiatus due to a copyright battle with Youtube, he has finally emerged victorious in time to post his review of the 100th episode of Pokemon. And it features a guest appearance from Dom.

ERod posted some comments on Twitter about how it was to work on A Voice From the Dark compared to how it was to work on the ultimately cancelled Channel Awesome anniversary special…
Short version: I mean it really shouldn't come as a huge surprise all things considered but Linkara was far more respectful and professional about everything than Doug ever was. -

Found out about Girlfriend Reviews over the weekend and it's amazing.

Wow, I forgot about this one. It's the best free game I've ever played.

Projared finally made a formal response to the allegations against him and the massive shitstorm that ensued.
It contains significant evidence discrediting the claims of pedophilic behavior.
-
Haven't watched the video yet, but holy shit Jared looks destroyed in that thumbnail. The allegations against him were pretty damn serious, so innocent or not I can only imagine how much it all affected him.
-
I don't even know what is true or false anymore.

Or
he made a calculated not-apology, apology video where he plays up the "whoa is me" angle.
-
Rather than apologizing, from what I've heard this is more of a rebuttal to the claims against him.
And apparently there's convincing evidence he's putting forth, the video is being generally well received and people are like "damn… cancel culture really needs to stop." -
The tricky part id that sending nudes is still a fact and he is okay with it.

To be fair, the modern sex revolution has led to a lot of borderline or over-the-line creepy behavior being deemed acceptable by a large chunk of the internet.
I personally would never risk sharing nudes with strangers who might be under 18 and I think what he did was really stupid, irresponsible and potentially manipulative, but if his side of the story is true it sounds like he was somewhat misled by a culture that values freedom and pleasure over common sense.

Guess I'll watch just to compare it to this:

But the problem with PJ in particular(and people in entertainment/circles of influence and power) isn't just that they are sending dick pics out. It's that they have a sizable following and are using them as a sexual outlet.

I don't know much about the story or the controversy around it .
But is it really that farfetched to think that people seek out fame in order to get money, power and sex.
I don't know, it seems like for a lot of people, one of the perks of becoming famous is getting access to more sexual opportunities.
I don't think a lot of people complained when rockstars and rappers were banging their groupies.

There is probably alot of famous wangs floating around the internet

I find the fact that he chose to advertise his other channels at the end of this 'apology' video pretty damning in and of itself already

If only he had any real content left to advertise.
That's the biggest frustration I have: maybe the guy who didn't show up to work for an entire year was unjustly fired over a false pedophile accusation; but he's still not doing the job he was hired to do.
Why should anyone bother resubscribing to him when there's nothing to watch?
-

In what way?
Also, I watched the video and at no point did he say that it was an Apology video.
He was simply Defending himself from allegations that based on the evidence presented, were completely false.
This is why I believe in the concept of Innocent until proven gulity. Unfortunately for a lot of people, like you for example, the first message will always prevail.
I mean, it seems like the guy had lost access to his revenue due to the false accusations, and now you deem him suspect for trying to get it back after defending himself. Was he supposed to pretend that he doesn't earn a living from his youtube videos?

Ah man, Linkara. That's rough to hear.

Good analysis of what made Steven Universe good and how it failed to live up to its potential at the end.

Huh. Now this is neat. AVGN does an entire review in one take.

It's been a while since Todd has went in full rant mode on a current popular song, but this was so satisfying to watch.

He ain't wrong. I tried replaying the remake recently but it ended up on the shelf

Speaking of expensive Mini-games, the horsearcher-game in BotW is worse than in every Zelda, imo. Hard as hell and you have to pay for everything, even the arrows. You got them for free in Ocarina iirc.
And then the weapon mechanic. Your bows can break midgame! Try again? I hope you brought enough bows. No I don't have some convinient chests standing around. That mini-game takes some serious planning.
-
Well for anyone here who watched programming on Collider….it's dead.

As a big Beach Boys fan, just wanted to share Todd's Trainwreckords review of Summer in Paradise
Oh god, that John Stamos cover.

Was this made before or after Future? Because Future…UGH.

I thought Future was absolutely heartbreakingly great, and really bold for a TV show. It fully capitalized on so many years of love for these characters.
Anyway, I tried watching the above youtube vid, and peaced out immediately when he invoked "They didn't explain the origin of the Gems!" as some blemish on the series. I…what? That wasn't important to the narrative at all. It had no relative to any of the established character arcs, which is what prompted the gradual "lore" exposition in the first place - through Pearl we learn of the Gem Caste system, Amethyst is a link to the growing of gem soldiers, Garnet and fusion...but only ever because its relevant to the characters. What would an explanation for the gems origins add. The show never dramatized it as some huge lingering plot thread. It didn't matter, like, at all.
-
I fully agree with Daz on both counts. I loved Future.
-
Oh, the school of tought that demands an explanation on all technology, lore, and what happens with each and every raised question, both in the show and the fandom. Fun.
The original series had it's issues, a very rushed ending that is product of the constant fear CN had the team on because they didn't know when it would end, so rather than a no ending, they condensed the ending into what it was (IMHO, should have colapsed White's role into Yellow, because of the care and buildup for white just wasn't there)
Future was excelent, as in very well crafted, raised a ton of good points and shed light on a ton issues one would have with the series. I hate it. It soured me on all the original series, and I can't honestly enjoy Steven's journey as it brought him so much pain.
Like in One Piece II going through how Luffy can't sleep for weeks because his brain damage.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
In the end we had kinda the same opinion about white, but without taking in consideration the existential danger that the show was during its final season . And no YouTubist drama
-
This pretty much summarizes my feelings on Future.
-

I sort of have the opposite opinion, in that the original show was already ruined by those issues and it was an improvement to see Future explore them. The big hug at the end was shockingly hollow though, and the message is really confused (was their realization that Steven needed to be smothered with love and support, or that he needed to be allowed to go off on his own all alone without any support?).
In retrospect it's really bizarre that the main conflict of the season was resolved so easily because PTSD isn't the kind of thing you just get over.
-
Hmm, could have sworn this was the web review shows thread.
Anyway, I liked Steven Universe Future fine, but…yeah, I recognize that it had issues (as did Steven, ba dum tsh)

He was calmed down from his meltdown and assured that he wasn't a monster for feeling negative emotions about his life, he was allowed to have them and express them.
But his PTSD was NOT cured. When he was crying after turning back, that was still PTSD related. He was finally letting it out. Then even when we had a short time jump to a few months ahead, he mentioned that he was STILL seeing a therapist.
-
They didn’t hug away the PTSD, they hugged away his current self image problem, a regular person wouldn’t have turned into a sad kaiju when admiting to the bad stuff he did, and we’d have skipped to a good cry in the house.

Pretty much that ^^, plus the overarching problem not being related to a lack of affection from others -everyones love for Steven is pretty clear - but rather Steven being unwilling to reach out and communicate his needs and frustrations. Steven was unable to cope with the idea of needing help rather than providing it, and overall desperately needed to carve out a new role for himself now that the universe didn't literally rely on him. Hence why he leaves at the end - he's following his dads advice to seek inspiration for a new start, but now with the understanding that everyone 100% has his back, whatever happens. Its the healthy version of Gregs relationship with his terrible parents.
(Side note: The episode about Gregs history provoked an interesting discussion about parenting between me and my wife, but why anyone would point to it as some atrocity on Gregs part is totally lost on me. Yes, growing up in a stable environment is good for a kid, but Gregs parents were shits, and the only reason Steven didn't see that was because he was an angry teen in a terrible headspace. Seriously, they forced Greg to be a MATHLETE and a WRESTLER. GREG. Plus, you know, completely ghosting him)
