Not sure what exactly this says, but certainly not good things. Regardless of your thoughts on it, it's clear Cowboy Bebop was not well received at all either by critics or fans, and Netflix - despite prior investment - is not willing to let it figure itself out. With this being the other premier Tomorrow Studios/Netflix Production, I can easily see a scenario where One Piece is not renewed past a first season. Maybe the investment is on a larger scale where that's not possible (it seemed Shueisha and Oda and other interested parties have a lot of money pushed into it specifically to see it succeed on some level), but it definitely gives a sharp image of the kind of margins the show will operate on.

Yeah this was already covered in the Cowboy Bebop thread. I pretty much called as much as soon as the news went down.

These look great. They haven't disappointed with the cast yet. I'm anxious to see who they cast for Shanks,Smoker and Tashigi

I'm guessing the live action might have hints just like the anime that may even spoil manga readers. I'm aware some believe that those working on the anime don't know manga spoilers, but i'm not buying that.

6 arcs, if I had to pick 2 to get the most coverage, it'd be include Baratie and Arlong Park.

I only recognize the garp actor. I think I saw him in many stuff over the years but smaller roles he had. I don't know If he can pull the goofiness of garp, he looks too serious Like Mihawk and Zoro.

Helmeppo looks one on one with the manga version and also coby looks Like he fits well.

I think cutting the Smooth Smooth fruit is probably a good idea, or at least the skinny part. It contributes nothing to the story, Luffy can simply not recognize Alvida because its Luffy. Additionally, I always felt like the inclusion of the SmoothSmooth really underplayed how rare the devil fruits are in East Blue. Like how did she even get it? Its not in Buggy's cover story. It comes completely out of nowhere and its effects to make Alvida skinny don't even make sense with the properties of the fruit.

Since stuff is bound to change anyway, I kinda hope they skip the whole fat Alvida/thin Alvida thing. I'm sure my Goda didn't mean anything vicious but I always thought at its root it was a pretty fatphobic gag. Just kinda bad taste.

I seen that survey the other day. The first 20-35 questions were cool, but then they went down a nasty rabbit hole.

I forget that fans aren't satisfied with just them liking and appreciating a work. They need others to be on board. Fans are barely fans, they also feel the need to be part of the marketing team and whatever they like should be compromised to satisfy an audience in the US that have proven over multiple years that OP isn't their cup of tea.

It's an adaptation, so things are bound to change. Many of those questions are pushing the thought of Death Noting OP. Not because it translates to live action (which would be great for the series), but to satisfy a crowd of people that can care less for the story.

Also another reminder how One Piece is just one big minefield concerning political correctness. There's no way they'll turn Alvida skinny after she consumes her fruit, right? Unless they rewrite / scratch her gag.
