Robin's name is in correct order, the Japanese one, meaning the family name goes first and the person's name second. All of Mugiwara crew names (for those of them who has both) are in this order: Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nico Robin, and they are adressed informally to by other people by their names ("Luffy", "Zoro", "Robin") and formally by their family name (Tashigi calling Zoro "Roronoa", etc).

I'd like to think Oda is just weird with names since they are western names and it's all just mixed up. I refuse to accept Ben Beckman's name order, that's why
Weevil isn't the only person in the series who has stitches, so having stitches doesn't automatically mean he is related to Hogback. I know where people are getting this from, as his stitches look like they go around his neck completely, but we can't completely tell due to not being able to see the back of his neck. Sure, there are certain shots that look like they reach all the way to the back, but perhaps it only comes close and not completely.
If the "son"s name was Weeble Newgate I would have had no questions :getlost: I wouldn't care for weird surname addressing for some of the characters and just let that be, but no, it had to be "Edward Weeble".

Well, like I said before, it's not uncommon for characters to refer to others formally by their family name, so this may be the case. I personally have no idea what in "Daz Bones" is what, or at least what is supposed to be what.
Hope Luffy and crew reunites with Sanji and rest of the crew next chapter. Hope they are not in some trouble. Also, I magine it's likely sunny team united with law pirates? Unless those guys are also in some kind of trouble and need rescue.
With Weeble, Kaidou's pirates and maybe even Big mom pirates there, serious stuff could be going on right now, since it's 1 week later too. All we know, Suuny team could be in Weeble's belly by now.

Well, it's not like coming with names for characters is easy, especially for a Japanese man when it comes to western-sounding names.
Most characters with surnames tend to have real life references anyway, like Roronoa Zoro, the Supernovas and most of the Blackbeard Pirates. In fact, I don't think there's any major character in this manga with a Japanese name AND surname.

Barto continue to entertain. He is quite an interesting crew as they manage to sail around without a navigator. A nice use of grandma and the gum.

As per the gag Law-Usoop: Hilarious. One of the reasons I love One Piece. It can be really profound at times (ie Robin, Nami background story lines) but can be realllll funny most times. Each one of the crew with their funny bones. Sanji with his women adoration, Chopper with his compliment quirks (2 of my favorite quirks in OP).
Regarding the Elephant Island, I would want to think that it's a sea Elephant, or at least an amphibious one where it has flippers perhaps

Yeah true, it's why I think it might be the other way around at times as well. With Crocodile the only other one he refers to not by nickname(Mugiwara) or both names(Nico Robin) is Emporio Ivankov, which he refers to as Ivankov. I've been thinking that for a long time now. Bepo, Pekoms, and the cat man on Hawkins crew; I was one of the first ones to suggest they were Minkmen.
Some have argued that minkmen seem to imply the entire race are minks, only one type of animal. I admitted that until we see the 'offical' introduction of the race, we can't know one way or the other.
That said, I am sticking with my theory the three anthromorphic being we've seen are minkmen.
If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. But if I'm right ….. I'm gonna dance yelling "I called it!" (along with a few others who said it as well, far back as I did .. sorry can't remember those 2)

In what chapter is that flashback you mentioned? Could you link it? The name could just as well be a joke about the fake Whitebeard jr. not being a good fake.

Meh.. I rather judge on the information currently given. I will change my opinion if new information talk on his favor and make a compelling case.
The right moment? 2 years ago, he had 14 commanders and the grief over Whithebeard to make a good hunting team with the allies. Now Blackbeard has a better mastery of his fruits, a stronger crew and is continuing getting power. Seems like he lost his chance actually.

Bear in mind that Zou is moving and they had to catch up, which Robin commented on. Since they left days later because of Luffy recovering Zou has moved for that much time as well.

Exactly. As Law says "we're facing his back" meaning the island was walking away from them. This is why they got there so much sooner. It just gives an idea of how much of a long range the island of Zo walks

I want to say a couple of things regarding the self-proclaimed Whitebeard's beloved and her 'son'.
No matter how you look at it, she cannot be Whitebeard's "lover".
I am certain her appearance is also being used as a 'gag' by Oda-sensei.
Whitebears could not fall in love with these kind of women. A woman who tramples over Whitebeard's ideals of what 'family' is cannot be loved by Whitebeard.
She appears to be a witch in both the moral sense of the word and the literal sense of it.
She appears to be using this whole Whitebeard's lover and Weeble's mother shebang so as to collect 'money,' especially the 'bounty money' on the head of Whitebeard's sons. She has shown great longing for money.
When he destroyed the 'AO Pirates', she told him to tell her about their 'next assignment', which is the annihilation of 'Marco the Phoenix'.
This implies that the 'previous assignment' was what had just happened. In other words, the annihilation of the 'AO Pirates.'
This whole Whitebeard's-son shebang appears to be connected to Whitebeard's "vast inheritance".
This is what appears to be her ultimate objective from this entire act.
As for Weeble, he truly believes that he is Whitebeard's son insofar as he was shedding tears of anger over his father's death and swearing vengeance on Blackbeard, the one who committed this patricide.

As the giant squad demonstrated, being big and knowing haki doesn't really amount to anything. Sure he's got that neat little force lightning, but compared to a guy who freezes entire islands it certainly lacks a little pizzazz.
