It might sound like he's downplaying logias, but really he's just following through with a theme we've already seen in The New World.
Logia's just ain't what they used to be.
thats right, paramecia are where the powers at now

When Trebol stepped on the Tontattas they cried "pigya!". He laughed at how silly they sound.
Then in this chapter when he got sliced the fuck out, he cried Pigyaaaaa!
Turn the page, scene turns to the Tontattas going you know I just had this odd feeling of satisfaction.
So yeah.

I read it that it would count if his logia form got hit but hitting his built-up coat of mucous when he's in a default human mode doesn't count. Possibly if he was already changing his boundaries, like Smoker does when he distance-punches, would be a palpable hit.
the anime screwed up, lol
!
Haki works against any opponent. IF he's not a logia, then the parts Luffy hit were just mucus, which looked like his real body.
Of course the base body is always the achilles heel with a paramecia, but the protective substance cannot be made solidly vulnerable with armament haki like they can with logias
If you watch the anime scene again,Trebol's nude torso appears being cute…the draw pic in this forum doesn't fit with that scene.
The anime does no mean anything and should not be use to judge what happen in the manga .
Also would not be first time the anime changes stuff or screwed up.
If we go by the anime WB did not get half of his face punch off.

I would easily agree…if Oda didn't supervise the anime either.

When I saw that, I initially thought Trebol was going to be revealed as a rogue Tontatta who ate the mucus fruit ages ago.
@Galaxy:
SMILES are a very recent thing though. Trebol has had the fruit ever since around the time of the Corazon flashback (even earlier than that, probably).
Yeah, i forgot about that. Doesn't make much sense now. This is so confusing given how every time Trebol was cut in half he was well, cut in half, no physical body was seen.
And why exactly is the Donquixote family so fixated on DD being the Pirate King. Doesn't look like the type of goal you would expect form the mob.

Ok, this is awesome.

Oda doesn't supervise the anime in the fashion you're implying. This is why they make mistakes that are inconsistent with the manga.
The only thing he really supervises are devil fruit powers for the movies and filler arcs, where he either allows them or doesn't allow them to use a specific power depending on what he has planned.
@Galaxy:
This cliffhanger is hardly hinging on whether Law is dead or not.
It's more of a "woah, Trebol just blew up the top of palace!" sort of thing.
completely agree.can't see how people see it as "law is dead" cliffhangar.
also i don't understand the complaints that law has infinite stamina.
considering he is a pirate captain and a(former,i guess)shichibukai, and that he has only started fighting after he got free, this much is expected,i think.
Maybe as Doflamingo grew into maturity, or maybe even from the start, they were puppets to him, albeit puppets he sincerely cared for and shared more of his real self with than anyone else. I don't know the answer. But I do know that the fact that I'm even pondering something like this is a testament to the quality of these antagonists. This kind of thing wouldn't even be a question with any past group of villains
exactly.
Oh my god, when this stupid Trebol gets his ass kicked already ? He is so useless, just standing between Luffy and Doffy.
It was a fine chapter and there won't be a break…
I can't complain. :)

Thanks a lot, I was wondering too about the real meaning of that panel

For movies , for the tv show i doubt he has that much do with it .
Plus like i said it would not be the first time the anime changes stuff or screwed up

Isn't next week golden week or something, I could've sworn people said a break was coming.
Hoping Oda clarifies what happened in Trebol vs Usopp. As for the anime messing up, not really it just showed Trebol splash which could easily be his slime coat. I'm pretty sure Oda would give the animators a heads up that Trebol is actually a paramecia. Interesting to see he gave Dofla his fruit, I'd also like to know why they were so enthralled with Dofla in the first place?

Look, I don't need a bad picture to know how he could have avoided it, it just seems incredibly convulted.
Anyway, the final seat is officialy a joke as well.
Remember that Goodfellas scene with Billy Batts in the trunk barely alive? Tommy put that knife to him multiple times saying "die motherfucker die!". That needs to be done to Law. The executive's go down with very little damage, and Law is still going after almost a full arcs worth of damage. Not liking it.

Well we know they saw that he had COC haki which is one of the reasons.

Well Law does take care of him self after every set of damage lol.

Golden Week is at the end of April/the first week of May.
This is Issue 19 of Jump, and the issue before Golden Week will be the double issue labeled 22/23.
I'd say a normal Oda chosen break will fall on Issue 21, maybe.
I like how Logia was considered the strongest power early on because no one had Haki to deal with it, and Zoan/Paramecia weren't considered much.
Now it's the other way around.

Wow, thanks a bunch. That makes sense of the scene, which is more than could be said of Panda's translation.
Damn this was an awesome chapter. It had the best fight choreography since the first Luffy and Doflamingo confrontation before the Bird Cage. The only qualm I have with it , and the other chapters that established it as a precedence, was this: Law's inability to stay down and not take all the glory. What I do I mean exactly? Law injection knifed Doflamingo, then Law went 'down' when Doffy ripped off his arm; Law had a nice 'fuck you!' speech, Law supposedly died when Doffy shot him up. Instead of staying down and letting Luffy 'be the miracle' Law said he was, Law got back up and gamma knifed Doffy. The first time Law got back up and did some damage, it was okay; Law's gamma knife, his trump card, his last 'hoorah' against Doffy was not enough, and he couldn't do anything else; that was good story telling. But come this chapter, Law, once again 'gets back up' and, while lying in his own pool of blood, supposedly defeated, destroys Trebol. To say the least, Law doing anything to the opposition after his failed trump card on Doffy ruins the impact of the trump card, and that, in itself, is bad story telling. If Law stands up one more time, I don't know if this climax can be as good as I thought it would be.
Meh, Logia still seem plenty strong to me. The fact that some people can hit them just taken them down a peg from "Invicible" to "Really, really overpowered".
awesome chapter …. waiting next week!
Meh, Logia still seem plenty strong to me. The fact that some people can hit them just taken them down a peg from "Invicible" to "Really, really overpowered".
Logia has almost been a weakness lately.. Almost everyone knows CoA, and unless mastered like the admirals, it is slowly beggining to look like the weakest class.
The amount of asspulls Law has up his sleeve is impressive in a way.
Prediction: Buggy will launch a copyright claim against Law's method of attack.
so,after this chapter can we safely say law will repair his arm?
Great fight between Doffy and Luffy. Cool flashback showing how the executives became his "family". Law's move would have been cool… if he wasn't supposed to be incapacitated for the last 3 chapters. Also not really liking Trebol's non-logia status, but I guess since "snot" isn't an element it makes sense, but it makes the Usopp and Law attacks seem silly. For those saying Law's attack allows you to put yourself back together... he said that attack would permanently dismember you shortly.
It was a mistranslation.
The correct one goes like this:
http://read.powermanga.org/read/one_piece/en/0/760/page/7
It is mentioned that the person can't join back for a few minutes no matter what his ability is.
After a few minutes Trebol went back to normal like any other person would have.

Just watch Law getting away of the explosion completely unharmed in the next chapter.LOL.I wonder how many "rooms" we'll still gonna see until Doflamingo is finally beaten…
I think we can all agree that Law should be down for the count until the Luffy vs Doflamingo bout is over. He's done more than what is expected considering the situation and there's no way Doflamingo should fall for a sneak attack again. The rulebook specifically state that Luffy must be the one defeat the Mr Big baddie, no exceptions. I don't mind it too much up to now because Law has a far deeper history with Doflamingo and especially Trebol. This is in a large part Law's arc. Luffy's been in the limelight long enough that he can share it with someone else for an arc.
Also, this chapter is the first in a very long time in which Law mentions the existence of his current pirate crew.
This chapter also shed light to parts we were wondering too since the Monet "killing". Wether it was ambition of DD himself to become Pirate King or not has been a debated point. Now we see that basically that was really the dream of his comrades, they tried to jump on his conqueror's haki and need for revenge to achieve that. For what we saw in this chapter it seems to me that all that Dofla wanted was just revenge, privileges and power, more like a young law, yet again was somebody else vowing him to become PK.
I liked that chapter. Trebol Paramecia surprised me but thinking back now about it was rather clear. Still Usopp shuriken made me to be truly convinced about that.
DD is still a monster but in close range seems to be not so overwhelming compared to Luffy.
Still waiting for Sabo vs Burgess rematch, let's hope that was the latest cliffhanger with law's death.
So the lightnig means that it is the clash of haoshoku haki ? We saw that in coliseum as well.
I can't quite recognize them in their young forms. Who are the four guys who put him under their sociopathic wings?
Well, when you think about it, Trebol being defeated like this makes perfect sense.
Diamante lost against a one legged man.
Pica lost against a one eyed man.
And Trebol lost against a one armed man.
I can't quite recognize them in their young forms. Who are the four guys who put him under their sociopathic wings?
Uhh.
Trebol, Diamante, Pica, and Vergo?
The amount of asspulls Law has up his sleeve is impressive in a way.
Well he did grow up under Doflamingo, who seems to have just as many asspulls under his sleeves.
Well, when you think about it, Trebol being defeated like this makes perfect sense.
Diamante lost against a one legged man.
Pica lost against a one eyed man.

Ah, I see. So the underlying theme is that even people with disabilities can be heroes.
When you say it like that, it's really nice.
Logia has almost been a weakness lately.. Almost everyone knows CoA, and unless mastered like the admirals, it is slowly beggining to look like the weakest class.
Not necessarily. Ceasar has just been researching science all his life with no real combat training, and I think he can wipe out Doflamingo's executives by himself.
Now that I think about… this looks very similar to Grimmjow and his subordinates (who, in the end we found out, found him, recognized his potential and decided to make him The King - something he didn't seem to care about before - thus making it his objective in life. Hmmm...).
Meh, Logia still seem plenty strong to me. The fact that some people can hit them just taken them down a peg from "Invicible" to "Really, really overpowered".
Problem is in NW pretty "some people" actually becomes "almost everyone".
And being untouchable was a logia's greatest strength, so it's easy too see why they look much weaker now. Without the said ability, they are almost reduced to "shooting elements" and that doesn't sound as impressive as "turning anyone you touch into a toy bent to your will who is erased from everyone's memory".
Isn't there a possibility that Trebol's coat ate a fruit ? That's the first thing that crossed my mind as I red the chapter. Apparently I'm the only one LOL
I have a feeling that Doflamingo will protect Trebol with his strings wrap this he used against Luffy and cover him from the explosion. Does not change the fact that Trebol is down for the count though. Unless he is Law 2.0
1.) I knew that's how DD got out of his predicament as a child, he awoke his Conqueror's Haki
2.) Law's a D, and D's have big ass stamina. If Luffy survived poisoning I think Law can survive a couple bullets.
3.) Good chapter, some flashbacks to fill in the pieces, but not too much b/c we've had like 3 people's flashbacks.
Not necessarily. Ceasar has just been researching science all his life with no real combat training, and I think he can wipe out Doflamingo's executives by himself.
Logias since time skip: Caribou, Ceasar, Smoker and Monet. All of them were no match for CoA users.
Maybe Ceasar could wipe some of them out, but I think that would be the weakest members. Logia is only good against fodder, which I hope will change soon.
This chapter also shed light to parts we were wondering too since the Monet "killing". Wether it was ambition of DD himself to become Pirate King or not has been a debated point. It's certainly interesting in light of the series thus far. In this case there's some hint that Trebol & Co. wanted to use Doflamingo as a means of or raising someone who would become the Pirate King – which in the way the Doflamingo's flashback is framed, seems like an alternative means to achieve the sort of dream of power that the Celestial Dragons deny those outside their circle. Hence the mantra of sticking together, raising like-minded youths and being absolutely ruthless to your enemies.
In some way, Trebol is the direct antithesis of Whitebeard in which both put a very strong emphasis on a family bond and the duties therein. Though obviously with two different approaches.
2.) Law's a D, and D's have big ass stamina. If Luffy survived poisoning I think Law can survive a couple bullets.
Ace's stamina sucked, he died after one hit :ninja:
