Why not, for example, instead of giving Kyros generic rage power-up, have Rebecca protect her father from those spiked iron balls allowing him to deal the final blow?

To be honest, before this chapter, I thought that Rebecca would join the fight. Saying the usual " I can't forgive you! Blabla!". Surely Oda could have done it in a consitent way. Again it was before this chapter.
But Oda decided to do something else, and he did it well. It makes so much sense that I can't see Rebecca fighting after such a passionate speech.
Rebecca joining the fight was a possibility before this chapter, and maybe it would have been cooler. Who knows ?
But the way Oda handled her character makes sense aswell and she can't go back on her words now. It would be quite lame.

There is certainly that. It's definitely how her mother was brought up, being a Riku and all. The arc has shown how easy it is for such "clean hands" to get dirty, including the Doflamingo/Corazon flashback. Her grandfather the King can attest to that. Sure, that was technically not of his will, but he naturally doesn't feel any better about it.

Rebecca still embodies what the Riku kingdom stood for, whether she's aware of it or not.

Well they didn't have blood sport in the arena during the Riku Reign, that was a Doffy innovation.

There is also subject of dull blades that were used in Dresrosa Colosseum - Kyros was taken in as Gladiator but it was like forcing him to sport and that even though he was constantly fighting, helped him in many ways.
He is still ruthless when he has to(Mingo clones head was flyinngggggg~~). Rebecca is of Riku family by mother and they are against killing people as it seemed. King Riku even entered tournament with dull blade as he was against Doflamingo ways that pulled out what is the worst in people that were spectators. King rules affect people in many ways.

I am most eager to see whats up with Luffy and Bellamy at the moment, then I want to see Law/Mongo/Trebol situation and when some things will start moving I want to see entire chapter for Pica, then some Luffy vs Doflamingo then Sanji comming back by suprise and owning with his Hell Memories Trebol himself, then some more of Luffy vs Mongo.

I wanna see Violet praising Sanji, not only Ussop Their lack of proper "goodbye" or a kiss(yea I wanna Sanji to get a kiss from Princess) was kind of meh..

No is not about that. It's more like taking care of a recuperating Kyros. I wrote a long post about it around 10 pages back if you're curious.

Actually, if you check back, concerning the fights of executives, only half of them actually have that sort of panel.

Eh... it isn't helping? Dull blade is still fully capable of breaking bones and causing internal bleeding. Wooden swords are capable of that, even.

They condemned his plan in general, which involved manipulation of royalty and deceiving of the population, as well as slavery and unnecessary bloodshed.

Completely different situations because a) Kyros was part of the army and b) Kyros did it to rescue someone important to the kingdom, not for personal gratification.

You can't compare a street rat killing for vengeance with a military soldier killing(?) to save someone (we don't even know if he killed those pirates).

Considering she was undefeated for a couple of years in the Coliseum I say she did a damn good job at defending herself until she was face to face with the man (Diamanté) who openly taunted her about killing her mother in order to make her have an even greater disadvantage due the the fact that a dull sword and no armor wasn't enough of a disadvantage to her.

Which last I checked worked perfectly because she stopped defending herself and Bartolomeo had to help her out.

Add in the fact that Diamanté made the playing field literally not level when fighting Kyros and Rebecca to where she was barely able to defend herself showed that even with the training from her dad Diamanté was clearly on a different level than her fighting wise (going back the frequently mentioned idea that Diamanté is a matador.)

True, but I'd find it strange for a protracted one on one battle as with Kyros & Diamante to not end with that sort of panel.

Eh... it isn't helping? Dull blade is still fully capable of breaking bones and causing internal bleeding. Wooden swords are capable of that, even.

There's a big difference between active bloodsport and competing with actively dulled weapons for entertainment purposes only.

I have to say, I was hopeful Rebecca would be involved in the fight. It was optimistic to think so, but seeing the way she has been handled as a character I should have known better.

That being said, I think if anything was going to happen this next chapter would be the best place to do it. Have Diamante launch a sucker punch at Rebecca and she'll defend herself providing she's a warrior. I've given up on this notion though as it seems Odd will continue his one chapter battles even with the executives. It's a shame really.

The fight is pretty much over, I hope that it will be just an atempt from Diamante, so he'll finally be defeated and then the focus changes to Peeka vs Zoro, following this "suits" sequence.

My idea of an ending is Rebecca telling his father not to kill Diamante, his hands are too bloodstained so far. Their plot can be well finished with a message like this.

Depends on expectations - whole Dressrosa is also in a way build up for fight with Yonko so it will pay up but as always we have to wait years for best parts so patience and you still didnt even seen how Zou or Wano looks like so hold up with expecting dissapointment.
I guess that Oda will speed up the pace a bit after learning his lesson on starting Dressrosa - arc so big that he has problems finishing it up before readers started to feel bit tired of one island for 2 years.

So am I the only one who wasn't that unimpressed by Diamante? Guy's got some cool powers, he was just up against the invincible force that is Anime Determination. My biggest issue with his showing? Gladius seemed better, despite being lower-ranked.

I've actually looked up this on the Wiki. Luffy's fights are LONG. Lucci, for instance, took ten whole chapters AFTER the rest of CP9 were mopped up to bring down.

Yeah if anything the reason Oda is getting through all these other fights so fast is -because- he wants to focus all his best efforts on the Mingo fight, I say bossman himself will last 6 minimum.

Well Dressrosa itself is setup for Kaido arc mostly- Oda is holding back with showing off what Sanji Zoro and Luffy are capable of as long as he can.
Its early in New World so this arc did pretty great what it was meant to do - build up Luffys alliance in New World. In one swoop he gotten to be on good terms with 2 Fleets - Sais and Orlumbus + a shitload of other people.
Now with Samurais and all after Zou we will most likely get to see Wano and either at end of it Kaido will be a main bad guy or after it we will get to see clash of Yonko.
This is Water 7 if you would compare it, before Enies Lobby- next arc conclusion should be gaining from buildup of Dressrosa.
And for me Dressrosa itself has only one fault- its too long, tiring long as a whole in a way. Reading volume relases will amp joy from going through it but on weekly run its been more than 2 years I think, on one island.
That might be why people started to criticize Dressrosa lately as more and more of us is getting tired of same setting.
Oda should learn from it and pick up the pace with next arc, this time around he wanted to tell few good stories and create many, maybe even too many cool scenes and set pieces but time it took him to do so is kind of firing back at him now.

It depends on how much damage Law will manage to inflict before Luffy will start a fight with Mingo. Neither Mongo nor Luffy will start fight fresh and lately we had Kyros collapsing on knees from all of his tiredness.
Luffy fought more and for longer time so especially after draining fight with Bellamy where he cannot fight back he will want to go all out to take out Doflamingo ASAP.
I would expect 2-3 chapters concentrated only on fight with Doflamingo not much more. Luffys confidence and belief he can take down Doflamingo comes out of what we probably didnt seen yet from Luffy.
Fullbody gear second and some CoA hardened attacks mix sounds like what I expect.

I agree with you. I think we got some imaginative ways he could use his powers. I wish we would have seen a bit more, yes, but I don't get how people don't think his attacks were fun and satisfying.

Diamante seemed to be the weakest Seat and Gladius the strongest Junior Exec; I'd imagine the gap between them isn't as big as expected. Gladius basically lost to a cheap shot, too, so who knows.

Heart seat is the weakest seat. They just can't seem to keep those guys alive.

Rebecca can be useful in the fight without being get hands bloody. She could, for example, fight to chain Diamente up with Law's seastone chains that are lying around. It would be infinitively better than her sitting around crying all the time, even if Oda is dedicated to this "keep Rebecca's hands clean" theme.

Doula Mongo is not even a world beater (whatever that means. I suppose one of the strongest guys in the world?). At this point, he's just part of a bigger conflict.

Non of those has organization as big as Doflamingo has but to call him nr5 guy in New World- I dont think so.
I would say he might be on par with people like Marco for example or Ben Beckman but with his own crew and ambitions. His status and knowledge on Celestial Dragons being one of main pillars of his position in New World.

I don't think Doflamingo's influence outside of Dressrosa is as big as people think it is. In fact, I would go as far as to say that partially due to suppression/censorship of information, outside of certain circles such as the Underworld Crime Scene and The World Government leaders (and thus, the Marines), Doflamingo is a relative unknown. Corazon and Law went to dozens of different hospitals in various countries over the year, and were all turned away because of Law's sickness, not because they were members of the Donquixote Family.

Granted, that was in the past, but we have yet to see what the New World really has to offer. We've yet to see Lola's Mom (though it's theorized that might be Big Mom, it might be a completely new character), the fate of Scopper, Elbaf, the other Samurai of Wano Country (including the Emperor, who has been implied to be very powerful), and many others. It's been made clear the Yonkou are the 4 biggest players, but it's a little early to say Doflamingo is #5.

When it comes to Pirate Crews- most likely.

When it comes to individual strength among pirates - I dont think so.

When it comes to world organisations that against goverment in one way or another- revolutionaries are most likely easily above Doflamingo Pirates when it comes to force and Dragon is certainly a man that has fighting power of at least an Admiral(Sabo was doing pretty well fighting against one so his Boss should be at least an equal to Admiral).

But I think you guys are judging Doflamingo's strength and power as a man just because his crew is being beaten by New World Pirates, fighters and our heroes. The title of Warlord, last I checked, is given to a singular pirate or person who are (or in the case of Buggy, believed to be) known throughout the world to be terribly strong pirates, and before Blackbeard made his play to become one of the biggest threats in the world Doflamingo had the highest bounty out of all the Warlords which we know was well earned. Add in the fact that he has his fingers in everything and that he clearly is an extremely strong pirate (with a mastery his DF and Haoshoku and Busoshoku Haki).

Of course there are insanely strong people in the Revolutionary Army and the NAvy but we are talking about the Pirate World here, which Doflamingo has a solid foothold in to be considered up to but maybe lower than the Yonkou
