Man almost forgot about the pain of that baseball game. I have no idea how long I spent on it.
That said the fact you could use the magic rods as baseball bats was an awesome detail.

If you ever wanted hear what Midna is really saying, then wait no more.
I always thought it was just regular gibberish mashed into more gibberish.
I love Midna's gibberish. I thought it was most likely Japanese dialogue that was scrambled, but it's interesting that it's actually English.
Goddamn fishing. I WILL get a Golden Scale.

Stand on top of the log that sticks out of the water and catch the fish that hangs around near it (or the one that's at the left edge of the pond). The one close to the log is tricky, since you don't have a lot of room to catch its interest, but once you hook it, reeling it in is too easy.
Ooooo, stand on TOP of the log. Good idea! Then I won't lose them when I reel them in. Thanks!

I completely lost it at his comments at the very of the video.
so has it been established that Jontron is Nathan Lane's long lost Iranian son
Jontron is, in fact, a
.That's pretty interesting about the chuchu sounds. Heh.
Also Midna's speech is scrambled English….isn't the textual Twili language backwards Japanese?
FUCK these Hover Boots! They don't do jack shit.
Hahaha. They are mostly just useful in the Shadow Temple itself… where to be fair, they are used quite well. Otherwise there are not many places where they are anything but frustrating.
My reaction to getting the hover boots for the first time: "Sweet, so I can just hover over edges now! No more falling to my death!"
Runs over edge, stops hovering after about two seconds, falls to his death
"…oh."

So far it's only the first ledge (the tongue-door thing) that's driving me up the wall. Every time I end up back at the temple entrance (starting the save file, shadow-hand, whatever), I have to get past it again, and if you don't time/angle it just right, you don't make it and fall to your doom. Because the hover boots don't go that far. Fuckers.
Remember to roll, your ass also receives the floating spell

What really let me down was that I thought they meant I could walk on water too!
Nope!

Yeah like Maxter says, it's really easy…but you have to roll.
@Monkey:
Oh it definitely didn't spin around. In fact it couldn't! Even if you had a buggy controller, it always focused behind Link unless you jiggered with it a bit (you can turn yourself around and run at the camera, but it switches again to your back). You could always refocus it square on your back too if you shifted Link to face in any direction and wanted to have the whole shmeer looking toward wherever.
So this was from like two months ago and no one cares but since we were both left confused by the conversation… I've started replaying Ocarina, and very quickly figured out exactly what bothered me about the camera that I couldn't describe due to old memories not being helpful. I think it boils down to one simple thing.
The camera movement and Link's are entirely on the same stick.
By the time I tried playing Ocarina for the first time, I'd gotten used to systems and controllers with two analogs, where you use one stick to move around, and the other for the camera.
The Z correct and lockon compensate, but its still throwing me off, it's just not as... nuanced? as what came later.
I'm sure I'll get used to it over the next twenty or thirty hours.
But that's pretty much where the throw off is (for me). No second analog stick.
Abuse the Z button, or it's equivalent.

I'm doing that.
It's taking getting used to.
(Works better outdoors, less so in small rooms where you're supposed to look up or down.)
Obviously when the game came out, dual analogs wouldn't be standard for another gaming gen or two yet, so no one was bothered at all by this at the time and its entirely my personal retroactive baggage rather than any problem of the game's.
Aaannnnnd, now I think there might have been a glitch or something in my game.
I can't get through a door because I'm short a key, but I have been back through every damn room in this temple and I cannot find a damn key. I looked through a walkthrough and they said there was supposed to be a key in a room with these falling spikes . . . . . and I don't remember getting a key in that room. Something's wrong here.

When Ocarina came out we were still getting used to Analog sticks period lol.

Where is the locked door? That's the first thing we'll need to know to help you.
There IS an extremely well hidden key in one room I can think of.
Do you have the compass and map? Look for all the chests you haven't gotten.

IIRC it's on top of the platforms in a chest after you press a switch (that's also on top)
Climb up using the block you pushed.
One of the keys isn't in a chest either as I recall.
There are four (normal) keys in the dungeon, all before the boat. Are you at a boat? Or no?
Do you mean the key that came out of the skull you bombed? I got that too. Dammit, how can I be minus a damn key!?

I did press the damn switch.

. . . . . . never mind, I found it. I had to bomb a pile of dirt/bones in the same damn room as the locked door. Fucking Zelda.

Haha, I knew it. That's the really well hidden one I mentioned!
The compass helped right?

Watch out for the boss, the Shadow Temple boss is the only one that still challenges me on replays.
No, a walkthrough did. You gotta use them sometimes.
The Biggoron's Sword makes swift work of Bongo Bongo, though (especially if you use jump attacks). I was surprised by how quickly I took him out on my recent play-through of Master Quest…

But I mean if you're in a room and the compass tells you there's a chest in the room, you should look for it…
I'm kinda proud of myself for not using my GC Wind Waker guide to do the Wind Temple in HD. Great music, boss was easier than I remembered.
I finished my replay of Majora's Mask, still as good as the first time I played it years ago. Fierce Deity Link is extremely overpowered.

That's the point, and that's why you can only obtain it when literally the only thing left is the final boss. :)
DONE. Fuck you, Bongo Bongo. Fuck you and your giant, "I will grab and rub Link like I'm jacking him off" hands!
Come on, there is no way Bongo Bongo can be worse than Morpha.
Yeah, honestly Bongo Bongo is one of the funner boss fights in OoT if anything.
When I first played OoT, I thought Bongo Bongo was the easiest boss. Of course the trick is to wear the hover boots.
The moral is that good things come to those with awesome taste in shoes.
The Hover Boots were annoying because they were so slippery, I couldn't get away fast enough to get away from the stupid hands. I ended up using two of my fairies.
Come on, there is no way Bongo Bongo can be worse than Morpha.
Morpha was easy and methodical (stay in the corners, aim for the center).
It's been a long time since I played OoT, but I think the hardest bosses for me were Phantom Ganon, the Twin Witches (I forget their names) and maybe Morpha (and, of course, Ganondorf himself). I don't particularly remember having much trouble with Bongo Bongo.
Never thought I'd see Trinrova and "hard" in the same context as far as boss battles goes.

Like I said, it's been a long time since I played it and it may have just been that I had trouble figuring out what to do and/or getting my aim/timing down.

Phantom Ganon was a bitch, but that was partly because of what you had/heart level when you fought him (that and I couldn't shoot well when I fought him). Haven't fought the Twin Witches yet.
Twinvora made me suffer once because I lost a beat.
Come on, there is no way Bongo Bongo can be worse than Morpha.
MORPHA??
lollll Morpha is the easiest boss in the game.
Yeah, I didn't think Morpha was too bad. Bongo-Bongo was tougher, but still not too bad from what I remember.
Gyorg from MM was a real jerk, though.

That map's awesome. Are they available for the full game?

Yep.

This is some serious overstatement even here.
Morpha is the easiest boss of all.
-Stand in corner, wait
-Shoot longshot a bunch until you latch him
-Stab
-Repeat till dead

The BEST 3D Zelda Boss fight is probably Goht though.
Goth is pretty good. I didn't find morpha just obnoxious and long. Bongo bongo was easy though. Not counting ganondorf I guess Jabu Jabu's or twinrova is the hardest. And neither are particularly hard.
Gyorg is the fucking worst though

Ohhh.. Speaking of. Majora's Mask has some really excellent sub-bosses in terms of variety. I especially like the set in Stone Tower Temple. It's a shame all them get destroyed due to how absurdly quick the "Gold Dust" Sword kills them. Atleast the ones in the Great Bay temple are still fairly tough(and fun… for me anyway).
Twinvora made me suffer once because I lost a beat.
Props for being the first person to get the name of that boss right xD
I don't think I found any Ocarina boss particularly difficult, but yea, Koume and Kotake are definitely the most fun. I guess overall I just love mirror shield shenanigans.
