Waaaaaahhhhh . . . . . .
Pssst… It looks almost exactly like Evangelion's Asuka (and she is half-German).
Ohhhhhh . . . . .

Lol 3 vs 2 and he does that, if the US scores he and somehow Belgium loses the game he wont sleep well at night.
Well, they won´t because Lukaku is a beast.
21 years old and Kevin is 23.
This team will be so scary in the Euros.
Wow, ok, I was definitely out of the loop. Didn't even check when the game started and now it's over(ish). Lots of late scores.
SIGH…..................
I'm hoping for a Netherlands - Belgium semi-final now.
Oh man! Such an exciting extension
Aw, lookit the kid go!
Holy shit what a goal!
This Green kid is only 18 years old? Woah. . .
Well, this game is on fire.
Unlike Algeria and Switzerland, USA has time for another goals
And now the US scored.
Come on Belgium, you can do it!
Go U.S.!!! This is exciting! I love their fighting spirit.
Block those goddamn goals, Uncle Phil.
Stupid thunderstorm . . . . . guess I'll just have to watch highlights online later.
Fuuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkkk
Yes, Belgium!!!
They really made it. Awesome :D
Great game Belgium deserved it, USA showed great art in the extension though, Tim Howard is the man of the match even though Lukaku was the one that shifted the balance when he entered but Tim was wall for 90mins+.
Damn it.
Beasley has redeemed himself, but Wondo will be the goat.
Congrats Belgium
And now all the news stations are scrambling to get this in before the end of their broadcast XP
game over USA. Hoorrraaay
I got to say though that those last 15 minutes were madness. If the USA played liked that the entire game we might've lost.
Well Belgium deserved the win, too :happy:U.S.A. showed what they are made of in the end, they should have playe dlike that the whole time.
One minute of stoppage time, what bullshit. Belgium was wasting so much time and when the US did it against Portugal there ended up being 5 minutes of extra time.
Glad the US put up a fighting chance near the end though. And Howard is such a good goalie. Was it 17 saves he had in that game? He's like a brick wall. I saw a video of one of his US matches where he kicked the ball from the goal he was in and scored that way too. Shame he couldn't do that in this game. They really should have taken out Bradley though instead of the people they did.

Meh not really it was just Witsel, he should have given 2 mins for the subs though, more than that would be too much imo.

You guys were getting tired thats when they started attacking more its understandable, so what they did in the extension time wouldn't have happened regardless of their performance, you guys have a great team.
US needs to work on their defense and midfield, it looked like the entire game the only guy doing anything on the defense was Tim Howard and on the midfield US doesn't seem to have someone to hold the ball possesion and star plays from there.
One fucking minute of stoppage time. Fuck these refs. Howard was a god.

Nope, unlike in the other games there was no pointless diving and faking injuries to get free kicks or cards to the opponent. This was one of the most foul free games and one, maybe two minutes was the max that was right amount of extra time. Plus, in pretty much every other game where one team lead by only one goal the "delaying" was much higher than in this game. Di Maria spending 2 frigging minutes to walk on the bench in the Iran game, Uruguay's slow play against Italy in the end (Muslera got yellow card though). It's, as much as it is annoying, part of the game. This game was one of the cleanest in the tournament.
// got ninja'd
USA put up a hell of a fight, but if it wasn't for Howard, they'd would've been blown out by Belgium. I just wish the US would've as well as they did before extra time. A lot of didn't think they would make it out of their group, but they did. They can walk away with their heads held high.
I'm shocked the game was as close as it was. USA was daydreaming half the game. No doubt Argentina is going through on Sunday if the game was only this close. Tim Howard was fantastic, but it seemed like he was the only one awake on the USA side this game. I still have no idea why they kept letting Bradley play the whole game. He wasn't that good in any games they played this World Cup.\
Also yea, the one minute extra at the end was a load of BS given how much time was wasted during and even to get the last minute going.

Are you kidding me? Belgium has played better than Argentine in every game(didnt see much of today game was coming home from work), Belgium can definetly win it.
I would have loved to have seen what Howard would have done if the game had gone to penalty kicks.

Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaa, not if they play like they did today.
Belgium has lots of promising players but their finishing has been pretty bad. They have talented players but not solid goal scorers. Argentina hasn't been very impressive either. Messi has been only great player in the team so far while lot of their other 'superstars' have been invisible or just plain bad like Di Maria. He may have scored their goal today but the chance was created by Messi - one goal doesn't excuse 100 minutes of horrible mistakes and bad decisions.
Two days before next games. My picks for the next round are the following:
France - **Germany ->**This is the game I'm most excited about. Both were great in the first round but their last games weren't that strong. Still, I'm expecting a lot from this game since both teams have plenty of talent. Hopefully Klose will play and score that one more goal he needs to become the player with most goals in WC.
Brazil - Colombia -> Still bitter that Chile lost. I might have rooted for Uruguay too but they weren't very promising at any point so Colombia's victory from then didn't really bother me that much. Plus, with football I'm rather anti-Brazil anyway so easy pick for me. Also no goals for Neymar plz, I want Rodriguez or Müller to be the player to score most goals in this tourney.
Argentina - Belgium -> I may be anti-Brazil but Brazil >>> Argentina. My hatred for Barcelona prevents me hoping any success for Messi and Argentina's Real players have been awful so no reason to root for them, so rooting for Belgium and no goals for Messi
Netherlands - Costa Rica -> Yes, I have no favourite in this game. I might have rooted for the Dutch when world cup started but Robben is so damn hateable with his all diving and the penalty goal they scored against Mexico left a bad taste into my mouth no matter how justified (or not) it was. Costa Rica has been a pleasant surprise for me and they were one of the biggest underdogs when tournament started so this is a win-win game for me.
We….just lost the world cup. sigh Goddammit.
What I'd like to see:
Brazil
Germany
Belgium
Costa Rica
What will probably happen:
Brazil
France
Argentina
Netherlands
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss <3 <3 <3 <3
Romeluuuuuuuu!!!! FINALLY he gets to show what he's made of.
should have been 18-0 though, we had so many chances. such a shame they were never able to complete them.
and finally REVENGE for ALWAYS being mentioned in movies and tv shows as the most random unimportant first world country they can think of, lol
GOODBYE USA!! ha ha ha.
FUCK.
Someone shoot that redhead!
that's not nice
respect to Belgium, I lived near the Franco-Belgian border, I don't thought one day belgium could go as far.
Argentina.
Kill them. Non-Europe Solidarity.
So I guess all the Group #1s won their matches.
@Cyan:
Argentina.
Kill them. Non-Europe Solidarity.
How about Non-Classics solidarity. In which case we would have to eliminate Argentina.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Vincent is such a nice person unbelievable
@MDL:
Brazil
Netherlands
Colombia
Costa Rica
France
Switzerland
Germany
USA
Wow, I did better than I thought I would.
75% ain't too shabby.
Brazil - Chile
Colombia - Uruguay
France - Nigeria
Germany - Algeria
Netherlands - Mexico
Costa Rica - Greece

Yeah 6 out of 8 for me too lol
@Mrs.:
and finally REVENGE for ALWAYS being mentioned in movies and tv shows as the most random unimportant first world country they can think of, lol
GOODBYE USA!! ha ha ha.
Belgium is that place that doesn't bother to get mentioned at all, because we can talk about places people care about instead with the same cultures. Such as France or the Netherlands.
Anyway, Western Hemisphere solidarity.
Argentina, Brazil/Colombia, Costa Rica. Show them what mongrel states are made of.
@Mrs.:
that's not nice
Sorry, that was frustration talking.
But now it's your responsibility to keep winning. So, go Belgium:
7 out of 8… Picked Greece over Costa Rica haha...
Big smokies for this round.
Brazil vs Colombia (3-2) France vs Germany (2-2)
Netherlands vs Costa Rica (2-0)
Argentina vs Belgium (0-0)
@Lans:
Brasil vs. Chile (obviously)
Netherlands vs. México (no hard feelings…)
Colombiavs. Uruguay (Considering if we win they'll be our next opponents… If we don't win, go Colombia!)
Costa Rica vs. Greece (Gotta love their run in this WC)
France vs. Nigeria (Title candidate)
Argentina vs. Switzerland
Germany vs. Algeria
Belgium vs. U.S.A. (I actually think Belgium can go all the way!)
6/8 also… :(
For the upcoming matches
Brasil vs. Colombia (I believe they'll step up for the occasion)
Germany vs. France (The French can pull it off)
Netherlands vs. Costa Rica (Great run by the Ticos anyhow)
Argentina vs. Belgium (As I said before, i think they can go all the way… plus argentina hasn't been anything special)
P.D: Pinilla's last minute shot hitting the post still haunts me...
Argentina is playing pretty badly so I don't think they can progress much. One dimensional, Messi dependent and they really need to work on maintaining their defensive lines. Last game there were pretty much 0 offisde calls thanks to their defensive line almost always not using the offside trap on opponent forwards. For a team whose game is dependent too much on attack, they need to maintain their defensive lines. And I don't know if they meant it to happen that way but Di Maria did shit the entire game and suddenly came back to life during ET. His pace during the latter stages totally killed the wingplay of Switz.
And that was a pretty exciting 15 minutes of ET in the USA Belgium game. Not sure if I had mentioned it in this forum but USA needed to up their possession and pressing consistently. Over the last few games, they always up their possession when they are a goal down and dramatically lose possession when they are ahead. It's generally the case obviously since if you are down you would try to win the ball back and score blah blah but the difference between having a goal down and going ahead shouldn't be that high as it is with the US especially when the team is capable to dominate good teams to some levels. Either case great progress and wish them luck for the next WC!
Pretty weird how all the exciting underdogs got kicked out of the competition with the so called "big" ones somehow surviving albeit their below expected levels of performances thus far. Quarters will be very interesting…
@Monkey:
I've wondered this but do Costa Ricans in the Northeast get mad at Puerto Ricans using the term "Rican" to refer to themselves.
Like they stole your shit man.
I don't live in the US, so I wouldn't know. I didn't know they called us "Ricans" in the Northeast, usually we are just called "ticos".
–----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim Howard was a human wall today! One of my favorite matches so far.
My predictions for this round:
Brasil vs Colombia (If Brasil don't up their game they'll get destroyed by Colombia )
Germany vs France (I have a feeling there'll be tons of goals in this match)
Netherlands vs Costa Rica (a guy can dream… :) )
Argentina vs Belgium (Argentina had it easy til now…)
I don't live in the US, so I wouldn't know. I didn't know they called us "Ricans" in the Northeast, usually we are just called "ticos".
That's what US Puerto Ricans call themSELVES. Or at least one of the things. I know New Yorker Ricans have other terms.
So looking forward to Argentina getting kicked out. For a team of world class players they rely an awful lot on getting free kicks around the 20-20m mark and I don't think they can even create their own opportunities from the flow of the game. Distance shots and corners is all they go for -it's terrible to watch. Without Messi their overall goal count would be 3 goals, I mean, seriously? The same goes for Brazil and their not existing attackers. Without Neymar, they amount to 4 goals out of 4 games - horrible, considering they're playing with the home advantage and should be burning with zeal to win this thing in a blaze. Fred hasn't done a thing expect getting them a penalty kick vs Croatia and Hulk apparently isn't allowed to shoot from anywhere closer than 20m and to shoot on goal. So that's why Colombia and Belgium will make it to the best of 4. Unfortunately, Germany will have to improve their game drastically, too, in order to beat France. As for Netherlands, there I have no worries. Robben will get them either a goal or a penalty kick, and their defense is pretty solid.
Bold=Quarter Finals
Well. I'm hoping Colombia will win the cup now. (Or Costa Rica, but I don't think they have a chance).
Well. I'm hoping Colombia will win the cup now. (Or Costa Rica, but I don't think they have a chance).
That would be awesome, but Colombia does have the tradition of playing excellently and then losing when it really matters @_@
But yea, I seriously seriously hope we at least defeat Brazil. That would be the best.
@Monkey:
Deserved the win. Honestly who cares about what technically made a better team anyway.
So on one hand technically these guys are technical technicians who can out-tech anyone, but it's only the fault of luck that they constantly can't score.
Huh.Football is exactly the same as every other sport on the planet. It's hilarious you keep talking about it like some special case.
Luck and bad luck is part of what HAPPENS out there. Reacting to it and vice versa is part of any sport ever.
This is exactly what I'm talking about lol. It's a physical real life field out there, not a sterile programmed digital zone.
Rule Number One: Shit happens.Not being able to deal with something happening out of simulation sure makes it seem like someone sucks at actually playing the sport.
You're right, Germany grinded in the Victory Road a lot and got to some crazy high levels plus the coach used a few TM's on it. No way can it lose to a Level 4 France that hasn't even evolved yet lollolololol!!
Also people are robots, once they learn technical skill they can't screw up or get lazy or tired or things like that.
Who cares about what made a team better?…eh, actual football fans who want to see the game played the right way?
Lol I'm talking more about teams that sit with 10 men back, having already conceded that they are the inferior team and can't win through skill. So they instead do their absolute best to kill the game stone dead and steal a victory.
They ride their luck and hope for the best, sometimes to an almost embarrassing level.
Unfortunately, football has had a resurgence of this style every decade or so since the Italians developed cattenacio back in the 60's.
Don't misunderstand me, it's a tactic that a smaller team sometimes has to apply against technically better side.
However, to point to that and say that the team who sat back for 90 minutes deserved to win is absurd.
Say that American who missed a chance in the dying seconds of normal time last night had scored. The USA would have won that game despite being trapped in their own box for pretty much the entire game, relying heavily on Tim Howard to pull out wonder saves, and just general bad luck from Belgium.
So you're telling me that to you, the USA would have been the better team had that happened, despite being far, far outclassed?
If you can't recognise who was the better of those two sides, and who would have deserved to win, regardless of if the USA had scored in the last minute, then there's no point in us continuing this conversation.
Maybe it's just because I (I'm going to safely assume) watch more football than you do, and get treated to situations like this quite a lot, and care pretty deeply about the integrity of the sport, that I can draw this line and you can't.
Regardless, we obviously just have a different view of sport in general, and we're not really going to change each others minds in this regard so we might as well drop it lol.
