Aw, no Caribou wacky adventure. Good colorspread, though.
Hm…..so we start off with Luffy punching the crap out of Caesar, with a Gear 3rd Haki infused move. A new one, too. Not exactly sure how I feel about this.
On one hand, Caesar is a genius that really should've reacted better. He could've phased into gas and slipped away, or unleash Shinokuni directly at Luffy, or something else. This is the same guy that defeated Luffy before by cutting off his oxygen supply. Thought he would make better use of that. Really, there were multiple ways to respond, and I was itching to see what he could do, all upgraded like that.
But on the other hand....pounding large opponents is Luffy's speciality. And with hands that huge, he was bound to make a hit. Luffy was seriously pissed off at this point, and when he's mad, nothing can stop him. And Caesar was still reeling in shock at the sight of his foe's attack. He clearly was underestimating what Luffy could do and paid the price for that. His face when the move hit....was hiliarous, reminded me of Wapol. A great villain meets his end!
So either way, I'm mixed on it.
Then we jump to......I'm sorry, what?! Brook brings back a petrified Kinemon? Whoa whoa.....let's back up here a second. The man was so close to finding his son, and even when he found out he was a dragon, he still wanted to find him. Kinemon was even horrified at the thought he had cut down his own son! And to have him fail this close to victory? Again, I'm really mixed on this.
I mean, Oda doesn't like to kill off his characters for no good reason, and being petrified by poisonous gas is clearly heading in that direction. We didn't get to learn the full story about him. Maybe he'll be cured somehow, but that would involve curing the G-5 members, and that'd just kill all the suspense this arc had.
Speaking of, Chopper curing Mocha better have more fanfare.
Moving on, Law is clearly pissed that Luffy didn't bother to capture him, but the best part was Luffy going "like I care, I do what I want". Classic Luffy. But him beating Caesar is bound to draw the brokers out of hiding. They're not happy, and look! Pekoms and Tamago saw the whole thing.
Then we get.....Baby 5 and Buffalo. Buffalo's design and devil fruit I love, but I don't like how Baby 5 has a DF. It seems too similar to Wapol's.....couldn't she just be heavily armed on purpose? Her hating Doflamingo turned into a gag, but I guess I wouldn't care either way.
(oh damn it, here comes the BABY 5 4 NAKAMA!!!!1! train again)
Hey! Franky!......is the same mecha he was back on Fishman Island. What's he doing? Baby 5 and Buffalo will obviously take the wounded Caesar and hit the bricks, but they would also have to get the lego Vergo and the slashed Monet. And that involves treading past the Straw Hats, Law, Marines, and poisonous gas. Not easy.
Overall, a good chapter, but some things I didn't expect or like 100%.
