Grrr uhh awwwww yeah Great chapter.
Chapter 690: S.A.D
-
-
Is there a way to gauge a character's haki level? I mean, is there canon info regarding it? CC did say that there is no one who can beat Vergo's CoA so I would like to think that one's rank isn't really a sure way to tell haki level.
Haki level is the same as DF mastery, there is jsut no way to measure it. For example, i think that Marco is a highly sufficient Haki user (probably even better than Vergo for example) but he still could not hurt Akainu whereas the Haki of Shanks actually stopped Akainu´s magma completely. So, how should we measure the difference between Shanks and Marco?`The truth is, we can´t. It probably all depends on the build up a character gets and also when a character plays a huge role in the story (Vergo was the first serious opponent in the NW).

This chapter was epic.
I didn't expect CC to get up but it doesn't bother me.
Vergo was awesome but no match for Law.
What if vergo is his most valued subordinate because he is in the marines, and not because of his strenght?
Law reminded me of luffy but in a smarter version :P -
So where does this leave Smoker in the power ranking just like Tashigi compared to Zoro. They kinda disappoint.
I bolded your problem.
-
Oh my GOD… Holy SHIT...
This chapter has me so PUMPED for the next arc... As much as I'm enjoying Punk Hazard, I'm hoping Oda will wrap this arc up within the next ten chapters or so. There's so much coming down the road that I'm so anxious to move on! Still, let's just see how this arc finishes.
-
This chapter just got me so pumped up for the rest of the New World. I mean, if Law, a relative new comer, can cut an ENTIRE MOUNTAIN in half, I can only imagine that the veterans can cut an island. Nice work, Oda sensei.
BTW, does this mean Law is up there with Mihawk, Zoro, Vista as strongest swordsmen??
-
Wow, that was a fun chapter. Luffy kicking Cc butt all over the place, guy needs to stop using that trick things like that is not going to work on him, sorry your doomed HAHA.
Law can do that? Holy freakin crap, if Law can do that I'm excited to see what Luffy can do
Vergo is done for, hope these guys that Dof sent are stronger than Vergo cuz well
Can't wait for the chapter, the wait is always worth is it
-
F*cking Jezus on cracker Dexter !…
First that sick image of Vergo all pumped up.
Then he was cut in half a second later, then I saw the tanks being cut in the background, THEN THE LAB WAS CUT !!!11! OMG THE ISLAND IS CUT IN HAAAAALF!Only thing that kinda bothers me is that Smokers tactic was to get the heart back and not able to lay down punishment on Vergo, then after Vergo went incomplete SSJ II a wounded Law pulled this move out of his hat.
So where does this leave Smoker in the power ranking just like Tashigi compared to Zoro. They kinda disappoint.
Prediction for next week: Vergo having the floor of the lab stuck to his cheek for the entire chapter.
Did Vergo went after Law's crew to punish him ?
I don't think we can really gauge Smoker's power level based off that fight. His goal was pretty clearly revealed to not be to win the fight, but just to steal Law's heart back, which he did. Seems like Law and he had a plan. Vergo even comments that he was fighting stupidly by expanding his smoke too much, which likely was to lay a smokescreen so Vergo didn't realize what he was up to and destroy Law's heart before he could get it back.
-
Smoker.. He become smoke, make his body become bigger target, just to steal the heart from Vergo.
He doesn't want to win Vergo, he just want to be even with Law. Cuz he can't be in debt with a pirate..
A marine among marines… -

While law does use a sword he also uses a DF with it so i don't think you can compare him to those guys .
The using nothing but swordsman skills . -
I just saw the cover and before I am off tp read the chapter I need to say
This granny from the cover is the one who was selling umbrellas to Urouge.
She is probably together with Kaidou or something
What if she is Kaidou?

Thanks. I'm actually asking because of what CC said about Vergo's CoA. It kind of made Law's powers pretty haxx if Vergo is indeed at the top in terms of "power ranking" (if ever there's such a thing) and he just got sliced in half like that. So I guess this would be Law's DF mastery > Vergo's CoA.
-
Best Chapter in a long time !
-
Iam not convinced that Vergo is now already defeated…he sure didn
t expect such a powerful blow, but afterall being sliced by Law doesn
t mean youre done. I imagine him being able to get back together because he should have a back up plan for someone he knows has this power (even when he didn
t think that he could be cut)Also DoFla losing his right hand...afterall i think Vergo is just a damn important man for him because of his marine status, so it
s definitely a hit for him to lose him, but that will also happen to him when the info that Vergo is a false marine hit the news. So in my opinion Vergo won
t be done in this arc and he gets back to the side of DoFla without being a marine anymore.
(but i also thought so about Monet and her getting a second chance seems damn unlikely by now)Edit: Ohh and DoFla doesn
t looked as pissed as it was announced..it
s more like being annoyed by that kid who tells him he is done by now.
So he still is far from rage and just agrees with Law that he didn`t thought about his SAD producing going down the river like that already. -
Even though I read the spoilers, I was prepared for that double page spread. My reaction was literally "Holy Fck!!
Law didnt only just slice Vergo but the whole damn mountain!! wtf?! Only person in the manga we've seen do even near that damage with a sword is Mihawk.
I'm going to asume that was his strongest attackI laughed when I saw Ceasars face. He's been Luffy's punching bag. So both Law and Luffy completely overwhelm their opponents. How strong are these guys?!
-
-
Can someone tell me how Kinemon knew that his son was turned into a dragon? He hasn't meet Luffy yet.
-
That granny IS the one that sell umbrella.
This granny from the cover is the one who was selling umbrellas to Urouge.
Nose is completely different. And the old lady in the cover story has glasses.
-
Oda made it obvious that Smoker gave up the fight to clear the debt he owed Law. Had Smoker been focusing on Haki attacks and less on his DF power from the start, I have faith that he would have defeated Vergo. Either way, props to Law for SLICING THE MOTHERF!CKIN' ISLAND.
-
So his Room covers the whole Mountain huh? Maybe thats the biggest Room he can creat.
And he can even creat a small Room, and then swap the hat to his hand.. just like when he teleport with Chopper, or swap the chain.. What is that ability? -
The granny from the cover looked like the one from Skypeia (which took the photos), but they may be different.
Edit: I checked, they are different.
-
OHHHH SHITTTTTTTTTT. Things just got REAL! He sliced the whole lab in f*ing half. dammmnnnn. Overpowered? probably. Hopefully Luffy is able to match up to Law.
In the end Law is shichi. Flamingo, Mihawk, Croc, Kuma would all beat a guy like Vergo. So to be up there he should be no push over and have some sick powers. Since most of them are way overpowered aswell.

It doesn't make any sense to pay a debt to Law at the price to not being able to face his subordinates. The real explanation is that while Smoker was fighting Vergo he realises that he wouldn't be able to beat him. So he changed his tactic to get some time for Law.
-
Most haxx ability in OP: Hancock or Law?

_O I doubt Smoker was as confident as you are…if he could have defeated Vergo it would have been a much safer bet to just beat him rather than let him use you like a punching doll in the hopes he doesn't see Law get his heart, and then depend on Law to beat him.

It makes perfect sense, because Smoker is like walking pride. Do you remember he told the government to eat shit when they wanted him to take credit for a victory that clearly belonged to Luffy?

I thought he couldn't face his subordinates because he was in debt to a pirate

Are you suggesting that a vice-admiral is weaker than a rookie? Even with Law's impressive display here, I still wouldn't say the rookies are stronger than vice-admiral level. That would mean they could take on the admirals and that is not happening right now.
-
Why does Smoker change his tactic to become bigger target for "buying time"!?
It's make more sense that he become smoke the steal the heart.. -
I thought he couldn't face his subordinates because he was in debt to a pirate
I think it is abit more complicated: it is because he wasn't be able to safe them by his own means and had to rely on a Pirate for that
-
I really love this chapter. We get to see everyone, Law is back on his feet and what a speech he gave!
-

Being stronger than a VA doesn't make you as strong as an admiral.
-
Interesting that Usopp has found that room Ceasar didn't like to go into becuase it was Vegapunk's area, they room that he was using as a final safe room and as a control room. Hopefull we'll see Usopp do more than get some seastone cuffs….
@Seres:Smoker has no luck with his jutte, man. They break all the time.
Also, hoooooly crap, Law. Cutting the room / island in half was epic.
Did I get this right? Dofla used Vergo to punish Law?
Seems that Doflo did have Vergo punish Law back when Law was on his crew. Heck it looks as if the cut piece of the island was floating above the Shonokuni!

No, agree with the others who already said no. Above was a post with links to the two old ladies. The one selling the umbrellas looked more like a hag…heavy face ect, totaly different than this granny. Though back in the spoliers thread, I did wish she was the same and that would mean she worked for Kaido.
Well their different old ladies, but this one either A- works for Kaido or B- is just a citizen
Can someone tell me how Kinemon knew that his son was turned into a dragon? He hasn't meet Luffy yet.
It could be that he met some of the henchmen. We did see that lil girl that talked to his son, later was talking to some underlings, asking where he is, she said to them that he turned into a dragon.
-

You should really stop thinking only in levels, it does not work. Just because you can beat a VA does not mean that you can beat an Admiral or one of the Yonkou and besides, Law, Luffy etc. are not rookies anymore.
-
I have a feeling we should be expecting certain member/s to spaz out on the thread anytime today.
-
with that cut… dont you worry about Nami's boobs. D building is 3 meters above R and B building. But Ussop's family jewels are in danger. :ninja:
-
What I thought of
-
Why does Smoker change his tactic to become bigger target for "buying time"!?
It's make more sense that he become smoke the steal the heart..By giving Vergo more space to attack he also distracted him.
Vergo was focused to finish off Smoker and by that wasn`t paying attention to the heart…so Smoker had to use his smoke-form to make Vergo think he can easily hit him and to use his smoke-power to steal the heart in the meantime-. -
GOD DAMN! What an epic chapter
-
I think Law's attack wasn't "ROOM" but an alternate version "shaped" into "wave". We just saw earlier that Vergo could make a Haki-shockwave (this is probably the secret to Mihawk's blastwave) .. so that might be a hint. He could also be using haki on his "ROOM" to acheive this as well. Did he use that "swirling" motion when he did ROOM previously? Since his power is to "cut" and "cut" is a weapon.. maybe he can use them together..
-

yes…you realize Smoker lost to Law right?
-
Good lord, this chapter is quite possibly going to kill Zachri…

Why does Smoker change his tactic to become bigger target for "buying time"!?
It's make more sense that he become smoke the steal the heart..Yes you are right. But even so, he went for Law's heart, once he realized he wouldn't be able to beat Vergo by his own means. Otherwise he wouldn't have to go for it.
-

It's been two years since Law was a rookie. Same for the rest of the Supernovas. That makes them not rookies anymore. That was really the whole point of the time skip, to move the SH crew and the Supernovas past the rookie stage of their pirate careers.
Edit: Also, at this time, it certainly apperas that Law is stronger than VA Vergo, so him being stronger than a VA doesn't exactly seem implausible to me.
-
Holy shit, this was epic!
Damnit, Law's speech… simply amazing.
CC's faces are priceless. They always crack me up xD -
About Kinemon knowing about Mono-chan being a dragon - he's with the kids now or at least met up with them, yes? He probably heard about what Mocha said earlier about how she heard about him becoming a dragon. He thinks the dragon he cut down earlier was Mono-chan.
Also, yes, it was a pretty good chapter. But Law put his hat back on. :<
