That was incredibly anti-climactic and unsatisfying. Vergo just being beaten by a single slash? With Law cutting the entire ISLAND? NO. NO. I am disappointed Oda, I was really hoping for a good fight.
I did love Luffy's beatdown of Ceasar though, but Vergo going down like that? And us missing most of the fighting? No.

No, not necessarily. His haki may have been strong enough for Vergo to not be able to shrug off Law's attack.
That doens't necessary mean Law > Vergo in haki mastery, Law used his ability as well. -

Luffy almost destroyed an ark that is as big as an island, so no worries. This chapter also confirmed a way to protect against DF attacks (even if it did not work in this case), namely covering your whole body with Haki. Abilities like the one of Boa, Perona or Bonney seem a lot less hax now.

Are you serious? There's no way to be certain that it's the same old woman. Leaving aside the fact that she was on an entirely different island, in her first appearance she wore a hood and was somewhat close-up. Now we've got a birds-eye view of another old woman. I think it's not unfair to say that all old women are drawn pretty much the same. Not to mention, this old woman is wearing glasses (but it has been 2 years, I grant you.) Anyway, "she's old, therefore it's her" is not a valid reason.

Depends on the level, i doubt Vergo´s mastery is near the Admiral´s or Garp´s for example, the former stopped WB´s quake or shockwave with Haki

so glad though i opened the spoiler thread, i didn't read it. mixed feelings. it's like "woah" when Vergo was cut, but the way he was built up, he should be strong lol. Maybe it's a way to make us see how strong Law is. Maybe even stronger than Luffy.

Other than the bad translation, this chapter was great. Law is sooo cunning. All those years spending with DD has made him a menace. After that speech, I think he rescued Luffy after the war to set this strategy up. It will be disappointing if he betrays the Alliance.
Kudos on those who predicted that the old lady at the lightning island was the same person taking care of Caribou. After seeing vergo's body with haki, I am now motivated to start working out, again. I didnt expect him to be such a beast and yet Law sliced him up real gooooood.

First that sick image of Vergo all pumped up.
Then he was cut in half a second later, then I saw the tanks being cut in the background, THEN THE LAB WAS CUT !!!11! OMG THE ISLAND IS CUT IN HAAAAALF!Only thing that kinda bothers me is that Smokers tactic was to get the heart back and not able to lay down punishment on Vergo, then after Vergo went incomplete SSJ II a wounded Law pulled this move out of his hat.
So where does this leave Smoker in the power ranking just like Tashigi compared to Zoro. They kinda disappoint.
Prediction for next week: Vergo having the floor of the lab stuck to his cheek for the entire chapter.
Did Vergo went after Law's crew to punish him ?

Is there a way to gauge a character's haki level? I mean, is there canon info regarding it? CC did say that there is no one who can beat Vergo's CoA so I would like to think that one's rank isn't really a sure way to tell haki level.

Well Law did keep saying that he could only guarantee "x minutes" before "something" was going to happen and the lab would stop being safe. Perhaps this is what he meant?
