@Nolus:
I can agree with you more or less.
What is really missing, in my opinion, is organisation and better leaders. They knew the immigrants are coming, and they had roughly known their numbers as well, they should have prepared for this situation. Because there are very kind hearted people here, but their effort are not well directed.
This is a created chaos, the government feeds on people's fears and fuels them them even further. Before the immigrants came, the news already scared the shit out of everyone. One TV channel says poor kids and an immigrant saved a life and the other says they have stolen and did bad things. Needless to say the truth is very much in the middle, but just like the media, people are divided too and there is no one, we can look up to. Our very own politicians are dividing the country to rule it, each of them make me puke in their own special way. As the saying goes, the fish rots from its heads down. And it stinks real bad.
One might say that the citizens should just do the right thing and the mass will rule, vote for a better party, better leader, but there is none you can really trust here. Everyone is only for themselves, and that's very hard to change and no one is willing to change this apperantely.
About Jobbik, their success lies in nationalism, which was surpressed for too many years. Nationalism should not be a bad thing, but the way Jobbik and co, are representing it is just awful and bad.
It should be about a bunch of people belonging to a group, belonging to a bigger home, then your little house, town or small state celebrating your uniqueness, showing the other people how wonderful your world is, while others could do the same and everyone should be glad that wow, we are different, yet the same and tolerate eachother.
The problem lies with thinking your own culture is better than anyone else's (although secretly everyone thinks that) and it is forced onto people, who don't agree with it or just simply doesn't like it. Good for us, that the ancestors have made countries, so that most of the cultures have a home, where they can be, whatever they want to, but still tolerating if someone else is different.
Our world, however, is turning ridiculous. On the one side, there are the extremes, who do not tolerate if you are any different than their ideal. On the other side you have those who wants everyone to accomodate to everyone and there you have the issues in the US, starting from Merry Christmas vs Happy Holidays to not doing things because it is against their beliefs.
