so after reading the actual chapter, my thoughts havent changed much.

oda might have more to come for vergo but currently he's a disappointment.

and luffy getting even more upset, honestly i barely by it. when someone's mad they either want the person to feel utmost pain, or get rid of the person quickly as possible and i didnt see either of the two happened (before now). ceasar should have been taken care of as soon as luffy came out the garbage area, but instead he barely did much and let ceasar able to kill more. call it what u will, but luffy is partially responsible for those men's (death).

I would laugh my ass off if Buffalo showed up just in time, to stop Luffy's bazooka like a badly written Bleach chapter
Then flip a page only to see Buffalo and CC both eat it from the bazooka, accomplishing nothing.

I agree, loved Usopp's talk. Its in character for him too. I remember the match-up with Chopper against Mr.4 & Ms Merry Christmas, he gets a 4 ton bat to the face, ugly mole woman laughs at Luffy, Usopp stands up and gives a speach then procedes with a plan (with help of Chopper) to take them out.

I agree, Usopp's gearing up. Those flunkies may see Ceaser's true colors but seems they want to take their anger and sadness out on Usopp … If they don't shut up, they'll regret it.

Congrats to those who said that Vergo would get cut up and then get stuck on the structure.

Good chapter, essentially lead up to CC's defeat next chapter. Ussop's speech was nice and the moments with Vergo and the G5 were fun.
CC definitely looked monstrous. Really, not much to say, just again a lead-up to the end of the fights. Mone and Vergo's defeat were kind of anti-climatic, but I feel like Ceasar's won't be.
Honestly, been a pretty good arc. There has been some dragging here and there and kind of anti-climatic ends to the two fights, but not much else to complain about, at least the fights kind of felt like actual fights instead of what we got at FI, could've been better, but still fights. Looking forward to the fall out of action, those tend to be the best chapters, that and hopefully the colorspread this chapter will surface soon.

So what was stopping Ceaser from burying Luffy in Shinokuni? Plot? He can shoot Shinokuni at someone but he just floats over to Luffy so Luffy can hit him. That reminds me of the final battle with Crocodile which was kind of disappointing. Why didn't Oda just have Luffy evade an attack first? That way it would seem Luffy is just stronger, not that the plot prohibits Ceaser from attacking.
I like Vergo not giving a fuck, he's so cool, much cooler than that poser Law. I'd love to see him again next arc.

Between the Pompei-ified henchmen, Law shutting up Vergo with a vertical bisection (somehow creepier than the lateral on Kinemon) and Caesar's final form that was some next level body horror for this book.

Great moment for Ussop & his speech about Luffy with the latter's wordless beatdown on CC really showed Luffy starting to become viewed as a legendary figure in the mold of Roger. This chapter really shot from the intimate to the epic in tone.

CC becoming Shinokune was a bit of a cheat for how to get out of the 'everything dies in 5 minutes' corner but oh well. Hell of a place to end the chapter.

Just thought of something. Maybe this is meant to show Gear 3's drawbacks that were shown in Enies Lobby other than the shrinking bit.

Maybe this is supposed to show that big showy attacks are bad and will just leave you full of openings for a counterattack and then show either Luffy overcoming it now, show how he already overcame it during 2 uears of training, or have Luffy tweak this in the future so it's not a problem. (One could hope, right?)

Nice to see that Vergo realy is well and truly defeated, and that Law intends to keep it that way with him hung up all along the fence in little Vergo bits. Also that all Vergo had to say about it was that he wouldn't be able to eat breakfast tomorrow was brilliant.

An ominous hint about Doffy's shady past? Intriguedness! I reeaaaly hope we continue on to deal with him in the next arc.

Usopps speech to the henchies was great, and I kind of hope that he doesn't take them all out. Caesar has used and lied to them almost as much as the children.

Can't wait to see the result of Elephant Bazooka next chapter!

Also, I really want Franky to be back again soon. I wonder what he's built on the Sunny.. Somewhere for all the damn people escaping the lab to stay? A super anti-shinokuni fan? A fancy new barrel for Caesar to go in? Mysteries!

But what is up with all these transformations..Enel, Moria and now CC in which case its even as useless as it could be…he wont be able to even strike one hit with his form right now.
I guess we have to face more of those ridicilous transformations in the future, but i think they aren`t necessary at all and make the villains not even slightly more threatening.

I agree with Apprentice. Usopp hides from fodder nobodies, letting them let Shinokuni in the room where Luffy is. Luffy could've died and those henchmen did die because Usopp didn't stop them from letting Shinokuni in.

Good chapter. Not stellar, but good nontheless.

My main concern is that it felt really short and slightly uneventful, even if the stuff we got was good stuff.

I guess I'm used to having even more stuff in my One Piece.

Again, having to do 3 kickass colorspreads in a fucking row is pretty hardcore, Oda must have his hands full right now, so I won't complain.

That being said, some great things about the chapter:

Vergo being so incredibly un-annoyed by his defeat was awesome, and makes him EVEN better. That random "man, how am I going to eat breakfast now?" as his main complain was superb stuff. It won't be the last we see of him. Or at least, that's my main wish right now.
The hint of Joker's past being something that could potentially turn the situation around was pretty misteryous. Also, anything that gets in the way of Law's plan is a plus for me. I like the guy just right, but I want to see him panic.
Usopp's speech MIXED with Luffy getting enough distance to build a MASSIVE Gear 3 + COA Bazooka, and jumping on Caesar's face was one of the coolest moments as of late. Usopp needed that, and Luffy needed that too. Also, the execution was magnific. Impressive.
Although I'm getting annoyed by a Boss transforming and then being defeated right after that transformation, I gotta say Caesar looks threatening here. If he gets one-shoted as it looks like he'll be, I hope he gets one shot in right before being knocked the fuck out. Or else, this would seem kinda pointless. As pointless as Vergo's hulk power up.
Interesting to see that two nations are interested in Shinokuni, and that they are peaceful nations, is a retty nice piece of info. Do we know those nations? Evil Black Drum kingdom, anyone? (Although I doubt that's to be considered a "peaceful" nation. . .).

Aohige said Chopper is done with the "emergency treatment" of Mocha. That menas she's still not healed, right? I want more on that. Please, don't let that be all there is to that drama.

Also, bring the fucking Colorspread already.

And now, to wait another week. . .

I agree that Usopp could've stopped the whole Shi no Kuni thing, but his speech was still pretty cool because he wasn't bragging or hiding behind Luffy, it was supposed to be that he has faith in Luffy, that he won't betray them that easily. Judging from the last spread, he's in serious mode, not one bit cowardly, too. Hopefully some cool Ussop fighting next week or something.
