Was looking back at chapter past and just realized why Rebecca is so skimpily clad.
It's not cuase Oda is a perverted japanese old man and loves drawing womens boobs. It's because he did some very tough calculus to figure out how much her shield and sword and helmet and so on weighed. After figuring all that out, he realized that she only had X amount of weight left to put into her armor. Thus he was only able to allow her exactly 100 pieces of scale for her scale armor. The end result is he had to put those scales where they offer the most protection. On her private parts.

well it's not like other characters have much more armor in this tournament..jesus just have a shoulder pad…as they already said some chapters ago, people in the audience wants to see blood,so there's a limitation on armors
Yea I can see Bellamy helping to get us to understand why Monet and others are willing to die for Doflamingo.
Oda will use Bellamy as someoen to toss in a flashback or something to illustrate where he gets his loyalty from.
Wonder if this will all tie into his little justice depends on which perspective you are looking from speech
Cause his entire kingdom seems to take offense at Don being refered to as a criminal. Might be that in their eyes he is more just than the WG/Marines
I'm not very good at Japanese pronunciation, so be gentle if I am wrong, but…
could "BlueGilly" be a reference to Bruce Lee? I mean, its obvious cause they share the looks and the fighting style.
Damn, another Pandaman..

Most certainly. He's spelled very close to Lee.

So yrah, he's from barto's crew
Although it was a good finding, they were just listing the big names taking part of the tournament, not Bartolomeo crew. So, yeah, they were talking about Hajrudin last chapter, but no, he is not part of Barty crew (or at least nothing was hinting that so far).
I wonder who else is on that 'Pirate we wish to dissapear the most' list :p probably most of them belong to the worst generation, but anyone else interesting?
@CCC:
“Giant Warrior Hairudin”
Going by the text on the page, and the number of google results, it might be Hajrudin rather than Hairudin. If it was an 'I', the letters would probably be closer together, like in Don Chin Jao, and you can also see the end of the 'J' on the left, as well as the letter beginning to curl left on the bottom right (compare with Jeet). Apparently it's a Bosnian first name, though I can't find a pronunciation anywhere.
Come on. You guys can't honestly think this new characters are just going to disappear after the fight is over.
Especially the ones Oda spent the time to name individual in this chapter.Something big is going to happen on Dressrosa and I wouldn't be surprised if these fighters make reappearances later on.
Some will say it depends on what one considers "the fight", the tournament or the big fight that will happen shortly on Dressrosa between Marines - Dofla family- Strawhats. I think many will have some part in the big fight, not jsut the tourrny, but after that? Yeah, in fact a lot of the named characters can disappear after a big fight for a looooong time (making it seem as if they will never reappear)…. or appear for just a one panel cameo at a graveside after that fight. Remember Whitey Bay, McGuy, Elmy, Delcavan Brothers, A.O, ect. from the Whitebeard War? After that war arc is over we haven't seen one peep of them. We saw them only once after the fight - at the gravesite of Whitebeard and Ace.

My bad, For some reason i've been thinking both gambia and hairudin were form bratolomeo's crew, I'll edit the post.

that would be a nice question for SBS
Seeing as no one was looking for Gambia when gattering B Block and seeing as how D Block also has 1 man less than C, could we assume Gambia was supposed to be in the D Block (the one missing from B is Maynard, obviously)?
If so, it would be a good thing about Bartolomeo. It would mean that, unlike the Chinjao family, the Funk brothers and Elizaberro country, he wasn't resorting to taking his group all into the same block to improve his chances of classifying.

Pretty much this. I swear, I'm convinced you folks forget that Oda is writing this story and NOT Toriyama. Old Tori may have forgotten characters left and right while introducing actual fodder into tournaments that serve no purpose outside of comic relief or just for shits and giggles.
You guys know that Oda's writing this story right? The same guy that names a large chunk of minor characters in his data books? The same guy that reimagines a fair share of characters as children? The same guy that sat down one day and redrew about 99% of the marines (which includes the zombies, and one-shotted noobs) as recruits merely for a cover page/movie promotional?
Yeeaaah…I wouldn't put it past Oda to utilize some of these characters again in the future (albiet probably not all of them though).

Well, when and in what situation would you have them reappear in the current story? Whitey Bay for example is more likely to encounter when the Strawhats get to an ice covered part in the New World, I'm sure she didn't have her ship build as an icebreaker for fun
Most certainly. He's spelled very close to Lee.
ブルース・リー = Bruce Lee

Cool, thanks for clearing that.
@Lorce
that's one moving and touching avatar.
I almost had mentears in my eyes.
will be interesting to see if bellamy becomes a nakama…i remember oda said a while back that a former grand line villain was going to become a nakama in the new world

And the same guy who had a supergiant stomp on all the general zombies into oblivion, right after introducing them.
Some will be fodderized, and some will be remembered. We just don't know which yet. LOL.
- even if the problem (stuck at Jaya) seems to have an impossible solution, don't dismiss it.
But Bellamy was not stuck at all. The Logpose would change to the next island after three days on Jaya. But no matter it still is a big deal for Bellamy to go to the sky island. He would have to rethink all of his believes and find a new aim for himself.
The only problem I have with his new characterization is that he admires doflamingo so much. I don't know how it could come to that from the picture we last saw of him in Jaya.
Therefore I really want to know what happened to him in the meantime.

I'm quite sure he's inspired by hayreddin barbarossa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayreddin_Barbarossa
Aohige confirmed it later:
@Aohige_AP:
Yes, it is. I believe I used that name in my summary, since it was obviously based on the infamous pirate, Red Beard.
He's spelled ハイルディーン in Japanese often.
I dunno wether ODa romanized it as a j or a i, but it's certainly pronounced as if it was written with an i.
Everyone in the tournament, all the NAMED people, will team up with Luffy and Law (and X. Drake and Gecko Moriah) to bring down Kaidou.
will be interesting to see if bellamy becomes a nakama…i remember oda said a while back that a former grand line villain was going to become a nakama in the new world
Oda said a former boss was joining. I believe he was alluding to Jinbei. Also, Bellemy seems pretty set on working for Flamingo. Don't think he'll be changing his mind to join Luffy.
es leal a otro~
And the same guy who had a supergiant stomp on all the general zombies into oblivion, right after introducing them.
Bartolomeo Kaidou's son?
Bartolomeo is all the kind of coolness, and I bet he has a good heart and maybe the fact that he shooted civilians is just a lie that he doesn't care to rectify.
He is another guy that has fun :)

The pirate the name is based on is Hayreddin "Red Beard" Barbarossa.
However he seems to give his character a viking-like theme, and name it in Nordish fashion, thus, Hajrudin.
I mean the dude is clearly wearing a nordic helmet lol.
Bartolomeo Kaidou's son?
LOL, why?
por qué?~

Well that was a very blehh chapter….this story really didn't need to reintroduce Bellamy
People said the same thing when Mr.3 was reintroduced in Impel Down. You never know how relevant Bellemy will be in this arc.
darle una oportunidad~
It seems kinda of obvious that Bartolomeo and Cavendish are gonna be the ones that will be advancing in their respective blocks. Bellamy and Rebecca seem to be there mostly to add drama what with them both being the only ones who have shown a likable side. Add the fact that Cavendish and Bartolomeo have way more hype and are mostly antagonistic and it becomes clear that they will be advancing in order to be fought by Luffy.
1 - "New" Bellamy seems interesting. From the "I want him to get one shoted ASAP" I'm starting to want him to stay with us longer…
2 - Lul Bartoromeo looks like a Troll. I mean like a troll from warcraft games. Anyone color him blue/green/purple? :P
3 - Hmm so there's gonna be Bart vs Bellamy (i was sure Bellamy will be punching bag for Bart since he owned VA so easily and was foreshadowed to be very strong, but Im not so sure anymore. Seems like Bellamy got much more powerfull...
4 - And block D - Cavendish vs RandomHelmetGirl huh? I hope she gets owned. Cavendish seems much more interesting! Becca can entrust her dreams to Luffy or whatever
5 - easy block for Luffy? None of the big foreshadowed players are in this block no? Seems boring. Maybe there will be some 'dark horse' inside this block too... who knows.
6 - very fast/short chapter :/ But this buildup was necessary i guess ...
No one else is interested in what a sorcerer mummy can do? XP
LOL, why?

Hey… It could happen. lol
It would be quite the twist. The Yonko are people to, having children isn't impossible (because I'm sure Lola is Big Mom's daughter).
Oda said a former boss was joining. I believe he was alluding to Jinbei.
IIRC, the quote was more that "a former boss will team up with Luffy", and it was referring to Croc's actions in Impel Down.

I absolutely disagree.
Bellamy seems to be on a road of redemption. If anything, I now see Bartolomeo as a tool to hype Bellemy. Also, Oda already gave Tashigi a dismal performance in PH. I don't think he'll be doing the same thing with another female character for this Arc.
redención~
will be interesting to see if bellamy becomes a nakama…i remember oda said a while back that a former grand line villain was going to become a nakama in the new world
I missed this thing and…well, sorry, I don't trust it without reference.
BUT
If I must pick a grand line villan becoming nakama, I bet on...AOKIJI
Bartolomeo is all the kind of coolness, and I bet he has a good heart and maybe the fact that he shooted civilians is just a lie that he doesn't care to rectify.
He is another guy that has fun :)
actually,he didn't shoot anybody,he BOMBARDED them,which is cooler
Bellamy could be more important than we all think. I mean…
Luffy > Shanks
Bellamy > Doflamingo
Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by Shanks.
Bellamy was inspired to become a pirate by Doflamingo.
Luffy is nice and carefree.
Bellamy is cruel and...not so carefree.
Luffy has dreams.
Bellamy didn't have dreams, and laughed at them.
A lot of parallels between the 2 characters.
PS: I just need to say…I love Oda's character designs. He's so unbelievably good at it creating really colorful characters and throwing them altogether at once. It is much harder than it looks to pull something off like this.
now that i think about that, bellamy's fruit seem a really cool fruit for hand to hand combat,he can use his springs to lessen the impact of an opponent attack and give the same strenght back, much like luffy does with some attacks (like the gomu-gomu bell against hodi)

Yep, Yep!
People keep griping about "Oh these guys are fodder wah wah wah", but even if that's the case, they'll be the most colorful cast of fodder I've ever seen. The King (not his real name, but too lazy to look up his proper name) looks so fucking awesome yet derpy at the same time. Only in OP can I take goofy looking characters seriously. Well… in One Piece and Adventure Time.
buen arte~
Oh lovely chapter. I love Bartolomeo's design and he looks like a funny character! Also, did Bellamy get bigger or is that just me?
Weren't Caribou and his brother also called Supernova back in Saobondy?
"Super Rookie" in the anime. Dunno about manga.@Aohige_AP:
That's how Supernovas were always written. Written as "supernova", read as "rookie". Even with the first set of the 11.
What? So it's actually "the 11 Rookies"?
Did you guys notice that Conis' fox Su didn't appear since the Skypia arc? Bellamy, that bastard. D':
"Super Rookie" in the anime. Dunno about manga. What? So it's actually "the 11 Rookies"?
Well… This saga is called the Super Rookies Saga.
@The:
Well… This saga is called the Super Rookies Saga.
Was that ever confirmed? I thought the naming of the Sagas was just a rumor?
se trata de un rumor?~
One thing's for sure…..I said I wanted to Bellamy to go down in the spoiler thread, but I'm interested in him for now.
Bellamy, think he could defeat luffy? lol even Zoro or sanji enough to take him out easy. All he did were attacking Civilian like Kidd to get more bounty and reputation.
Was that ever confirmed? I thought the naming of the Sagas was just a rumor?

It's either the Super Rookies Saga or the Pirate Alliance Saga. Don't really know which, to be honest.
