dont worry there will be plenty of tashigi cleavage.:getlost:

3 consistently good episodes in a row. Hope Toei can keep it up.
-
Lol, there was a some good gifs to make.
-
That last shot of Caesar was crazy and awesome.
Crazy awesome.
-

Really good episode this week. Punk Hazard in the past looked great. I just enjoy whenever we get explanations whatever is the mystery behind all the places the SH visit and get added illustrations in the anime. Some people say Punk Hazard didn't have adventure, but mystery like this is definitely part of the adventurous part of One Piece. Ceasar at the end just looked crazy as hell, too.

-
More of Battle of Gods and One Piece x Toriko x Dragon Ball Special than i expected
-
The special looks kind of fun, looking forward to it.
Anyway, the episode was great, a little slow at some parts but very good:)
-
Fairly well-done episode. Especially notable because it was almost all dialogue with no action, but that translated really well. Enjoyed the scenes of Punk Hazard prior to the accident four years ago. Caesar's design really continues to shine… which reminds me that despite Caesar being the super inhumane one, Vegapunk is still kind of a douche for doing chemical testing on unwilling prisoners. He's on par with the Impel Down crew, at least.
-
I got cancer watching this episode.. Too bad marijuana isn't legal in the USA because the cancer would go away.
-
Pretty decent episode overall.
I liked the music that played during the first half of the flashback of Punk Hazard when it was a luscious, green jungle. And the animation of Caesar's gas coat is very mesmerizing and smooth.Ryusei Nakao has the Caesar Clown thing down perfectly to a T.
Ridiculously evil with a fun dose of crazy. -
sorry guys but this episode really confused me.. :/
someone mind helping me?so four years ago there was an incident with the gas. then people werent able to walk, until ceaser clown removed the gas. then brownbeard came and almost died from the gas..but how, if ceaser had already removed it?
or did brownbeard come and then ceaser came right after and removed it?and then, brownbeard said he arrived 2 years ago on punk hazard…. but werent aokiji and akainu fighting at that time? how could this have all happened and they didnt find the lab?
thanks in advance :)

Pretty okay stuff. Apart from lazy overused reaction shots, the rest was watchable. The ending bit with Caeser was nice. He's a treasure trove of reaction images and a very fun character to work with, I certainly hope they take advantage of this.
As for confusion on the timeline of events, I don't quiiiiiite remember the manga saying anything about Brownbeard choking on gas.. That may have just been something Toei added.. buuut.. I may be wrong. Either way, I guess it's not entirely implausible to assume it took him some time to completely clean up the island of the gasses. Especially when you take into consideration the fact he wasn't only "getting rid" of the gas.. But I shan't get into spoilers!
And I guess Akainu battled Aokiji shortly after Brownbeard got there. Within the same year, maybe. -
Sigh I guess I'm passing next week's episode. I really don't care much about these crossovers.
-

I skipped last year's crossover because the original One Piece/Toriko crossover from April 2011 was pretty terrible, but the presence of Dragon Ball Z this time around has caught my interest.
-
Great job filling in the history of PH with pretty good animations. Caesar looks friggin hilarious! Crazy hilarious! 9.5 outta 10 episode (.5 deduction for every Tashigi cleavage zoom) lol
-
Is it me or CC's colors kind of changes to light blue to light pink vice versa? XD
-
Caesar was pretty much this episode's saving grace. All of his scenes were great. The comic relief with Smoker was also pretty good. However, the vast majority of this episode is digging through a mountain of exposition. Luffy seemed like he was speaking for the viewers when he decided to take a nap. Nothing really exceptional in terms of art or animation either, with the sole exception of the Caesar Clown scenes.
As for the little crew reminders on the shambled Strawhats' heads, let's just assume Luffy is really, really slow in figuring out who's who.

it's just that i think the crossover shouldn't interfere with the normal episodes but since we're really close to the manga, I don't mind it that much so im just going to skip it.

Caesar Clown didn't get rid of that gas considering it was still there over a year later with enough potency to paralyze Brownbeard. However, it looks like the toxic air was dissipating over time and the air was no longer toxic sometime later that same year when the duel took place Those that survived the explosion and toxins were paralyzed from the waist down. Caesar Clown never gave them an ability to walk, but rather devised mobile balloons so they could move around and travel (not to mention gain their loyalty). Law was the one that gave them the ability to actually walk around with animal legs due to his unique fruit ability.
Brownbeard and his crew ended up on the island ended up on the island very shortly after being defeated by Basil Hawkins and his crew and the duel occurred some months later, within a year. We can assume that CC and his minions kept a very low profile on the island when the duel occurred and the lab shielded them from the collateral damage
The anime actually does a pretty good job depicting the passage of time in regards to this. When Brownbeard first meets CC, the surrounding landscape is a barren, toxic wasteland. However, once Brownbeard tells of Law showing up getting their new legs, the setting is a frozen tundra which means that Law showed up and gave them their new legs sometime after the duel.

Yes please, Toei.Hell yes. I love crazy villains with random tongue action for no logical explanation. I didn't think it was possible, but they may ramp up his insanity even more in the anime.
The episode was overall okay, though I hate Brownbeard and having him talk for 15 minutes was a bit annoying. :getlost:
As for Smoker, I know the anime likes to do dumb zoom-in shots, but Oda is the one who had Smoker-Tashigi remove the shirt, so you can't put all the blame on the anime staff.

!
HOLY SHIT THAT'S FREAKY!!! goes to cry in corner
Anyway another nice episode. I don't really mind expositions tough I was mostly waiting for Caesar's appearing in the end. And fuck was that awesome. And scary. :cwy:
I wonder what happened to that centaur Caesar was experimenting on? In the manga I thought his room exploded or something but it seems that Caesar just blowed the gas out of his room. But why did he say goodbye to him? Guess it doesn't matter anyway. :ermm:
Can't wait for Punk Hazard arc go on!
-
Congratulations on your face, Caesar.
Have yet to watch the episode… will do at some point = 3 = -
I loved the reference about the flamingos and how they got burned, if you know what i mean

there were still some gas,but only enough to make brownbeard vomit..his legs were already unusable from hawkins' attack..the big part of the gas was taken by caesar and
! transformed into Smiley previously..that's why the prisoners with caesar didn't have breath masks
akainu and aokiji didn't find about caesar and the prisoners because they were hidden in the third lab all the time

akainu and aokiji didn't find about caesar and the prisoners because they were hidden in the third lab all the time
I'm just saying there.
I realize it probably doesn't really give away much of anything out of context, but you still might want to change that to not possibly spoil anime-only watchers. More so considering I get the impression that the person you're responding to is one such.

Now that you mention it, yeah, he only mentions getting very sick from the gas which better fits the fact that the island's air got more breathable over time yet was still somewhat toxic when Brownbeard arrived. As you say he was most likely crippled by Hawkins.

403 Forbidden.
Mangareader is a no no for me. -
where did Law find the legs from? since there were no animals that survived on the island.

yeah sorry..didn't though about that :(

Watched the episode a very good episode tough that island was very normal before the explosion kinda strange seeing such normal island on the new world.
That scene with the centaur and the sheepman showing their muscles i was half expecting hearing this music and sparkles everywhere:!
That face of Ceasar with his mouth open he looked like a frog which is kinda ironic considering what is yet to come :ninja: -
Caesar certainly started out on a good note with his face, so good job on that Toei. My only gripe was that he looked like a goat for the last shot, which was creepier than it should have been, but for him it works.
In the meantime, I'm very close to forgiving the voice-non-swap part of this if only because of Smoker and Tashigi. For some reason, for me, it works a lot better with those two having their voices moved around than for the Straw Hats. Maybe because it's only the two of them going back and forth and them being kind of polar opposites, but whatever the reason, I have to admit that I enjoyed their voices being swapped with them. Still have a problem with the Straw Hats though. I dunno, maybe it's the hat pictures thing. It's not confusing enough to need images of them when their voices changed with them. I don't think so at least.
-
That last scene with Caesar…..Ryuusei Nakao, you are the best. You'll up the enjoyment factor of Caesar's scenes!
But the rest of the episode wasn't as strong. Exposition central, which, in a back-and-forth and action-filled arc like Punk Hazard, isn't a bad thing. Sometimes we need those moments to take a breather.
However.....hearing Tashigi's voice come from Smoker's (and vice-versa) is more amusing than with the Straw Hats. So there's that.
An okay episode.

So….I'm wondering what Lawdid with the rest of the animals and the legs of the humans...Did he put the human legs on the animals? Cause I would think that since it was a nuero toxin that maybe since they weren't connected to the affected brain that they would be functional. The other scenario is that the legs are totally shot so there's animals dragging lame human butts and legs along behind them...
Best case scenario is that they just threw everything in the trash.

I can now imagine a bunch of animals with human legs derping around.

New opening on April 14.
-
Opening 16 confirmed for episode 591.
I was right all along.
-
Hell to the yiss.

Pretty late on getting to this episode but it did not disappoint. Exposition is certainly welcome at times, and I feel the anime did a better job of explaining the chronology than the manga. The music during the latter half of the episode reminded me of the Frantic Factory level in DK64, which made me happy. Caesar's freak out faces at the end were golden and I look forward to seeing many more of them. Only fault I'll give the episode are pointless Tashigi boob shots and the masks being completely redundant given the voices.

The Straw Hats will stumble across an island 4 years from now where Law ditched the animals. And the fandom will rejoice.

Oh god, imagine if that was Law being bored at a younger age? @ o @!
