I'm one of those who thought Luffy wouldn't care about the Mera Mera no mi,
but since he does, and moreso wants someone he trusts to have it, I think there's
a real chance Sanji will end up with it.
I know the arguments against and I had the same interpretation of Sanji that
would make him getting a fruit inappropriate, but think about it…
Luffy already offered it to Franky, makes sense he'll offer it to the rest of the crew.
If Usopp gets the question, why would he say no?
His sniping doesn't call for the hand to hand combat buffs a logia would give him
and he's supposed to be the normal crewmember, but he's also a wimp and
tries to avoid danger, wouldn't this trait demand he accept a fruit that makes
him intangible and prevents damage from 90% of the Grand Line?
Given that, I think the only reasonable alternatives to Usopp being the real FireNose
are Sanji accepting the fruit or Luffy not acquiring it... either because Doffy springs his

Luffy crew is a crew with Devil Fruits, its not a crew with only people fighting with sword, guns and haki. They are 10, ONLY TEN. So they need to be really strong in comparison with other crews who have big armadas, divisions etc.. In the New World emperors got big armys with strong people. Really, if u put the top 10 best fighters in Whitebeard crew do you think that Luffy crew will stand a chance? Luffy vs Whitebeard? Marco vs Zoro? Ace vs Sanji? Joz vs Jimbei? etc..etc..etc.. They need to be more strong.

Oda probably won't surpass the 11 members mark (Luffy + 10), or else he will struggle even more with character focus.
I think luffy will win the tournament still in his disguise and when he gets hold of the fruit then his disguise will fall off or w/e and everyone will be shocked and maybe even take a new bounty photo that will show up after then he'll just stretch out and will prolly to escape from the coliseum then get out of the place. By the time the tournament ends, other 2 groups(well now its Law/Sunny/Zoro/Sanji/Franky) will prolly be at their climax as well and Luffy will go towards them.
I agree. The person who needs help the most, imo, is Nami. Like I said before, he fighting style is horrible. Oda has to do something. I'm not saying he should give her a fruit, just improve her weapon. What are clouds going to do to Blackbeard's crew? Imo, both Usopp and Nami would greatly benefit from having weapons that have eaten devil fruits. It may never happen but anything is better than clouds. I hope something is done, because I like nami but her fighting style is really lacking. Oda could do so much better.
The only problem Nami have is speed but hope things change in her next battle since we saw Usopp integrating the new stuff she brought from weatheria ( chapter 702J think it was)

Anyways, my guess is that the man Violet wants Sanji to kill is the other samurai. Dofla's men are incredibly famous and well liked in Dress Rosa, so it seems odd someone would ask a random stranger to go after a member of Dofla's group. But if it was the samurai, it'd act as a nice introduction, and if the samurai is anything like Kinemon when it comes to women its easy to imagine he could run into this type of trouble
i got the same idea. kinemon is looking for kanjuuro, kanjuuro is held captive in dress rosa and the third samurai will meet sanji because thats the man violet wants dead.

I really hoped this was gonna be Sanji's arc, and I even agreed with the theory that he should solo the tournament because nobody knows him yet.
But now that Luffy's signed up for it and Luffy only, and Sanji is going in some backstreet with a random whore, it seems more unlikely.
I hope Sanji will still get his shit in this arc though. He needs his spotlight.

Great chapter, and I'm really enjoying this arc. To those of you who've been asking me for my chapter reviews, my apologies for not doing them recently (and not responding to the requests too, no offense intended). I've never thought they were all that special, rather just large thought dumps, but I'll try to get back to it, starting now.
Cool color spread. Oda must be getting back into his comfort zone since he didn't include the entire crew. I love how Brook is being used as a clothesline.
We got the simple and logical answer for what happens to DF's after the user dies. It almost felt like it wasn't even worth mentioning, but it was still needed. And now we can go back to not caring anyway since death is so rare in this series.
I wasn't completely sold on the idea that Luffy would care that much about Ace's fruit, but in hindsight I should have known better. It elicits emotions from the reader, so it's only natural that Luffy would reinforce those. I'm surprised there isn't a little variation in his thinking to what Dofla expected, though. The guy managed to anticipate Luffy's thought process perfectly. I saw that mera thread was like 90 pages, which confirms that the fate of Ace's fruit is a huge topic of debate around here lately. Before this chapter, I had guessed that Luffy would wind up with the fruit and carry it around like Shanks did with the rubber one. But him asking Franky to eat it in this chapter really makes that seem a lot less likely. It seems like he'd be happy if anyone in his crew ate it, and it's hard to imagine all of them refusing. Nami especially doesn't seem like the type who'd give up a chance to be immune to most injuries, and Usopp to a lesser degree as well. But one of them getting it doesn't seem right at all. I also can't imagine it getting wasted on someone's weapon, like Zoro's "fire sword" or Usopp's Kabuto. So I guess I'm of the opinion that someone who isn't in the crew will eat it in this arc with Luffy's blessing.
I'm really liking the way Franky was handled in this chapter. Simple dialog that's not about cola or robots, well analyzed and logical, and still thoughtful to Luffy's feelings. Well, Franky never struck me as the type who'd avoid a trap anyway.
On the Zoro/Sanji/Kinemon side we have Kinemon completely vanishing for the entire chapter for some reason. I hope he got lost or something, because it'll feel like a small mistake if he's back with Zoro next chapter like nothing happened. No real updates with Zoro, who just keeps on chasing. Major plot development with Sanji, though. I don't really mind the whole nosebleed bit as long as it's not a threat to his life, because he's always been putty to a pretty girl flirting with him. Rather, I'm completely fascinated by this development. It's hard to get a definite read on Violet, but she has all the makings of a vixen. I really hope that's the case, because it would really test Sanji's values and could give him some much needed development in that area. I can't help but feel that Oda will take the easy way out on this, though. Making Violet a good person, deep down, who's stuck in a bad situation and having Sanji solve her problems in a better way than she had even imagined. But if that's the case, I at least hope Sanji doesn't do things the way she wants him to. He'll also probably need to get stabbed a couple times. Either way, she's going to be very important.
I almost didn't expect Luffy to reach the colosseum so easily and on time, but he did (thanks Franky!). I was also curious on whether or not Franky would participate (and likely surrender when he eventually had to fight Luffy), but that ship has sailed, thankfully. He's much better suited to work behind the scenes on this one while Luffy acts as the front stage distraction. I'm hoping that while Luffy competes, Franky can gather the intel and maybe even bust up whatever trap may have been set up for Luffy. I'm crossing my fingers for him fighting with the seat of spades or something behind the scenes to pull all this off. And with this, the 4 monsters in charge of destroying the factory are now all operating individually. This is probably how their total domination of Dressrosa begins, as they'll luckily wind up hitting it from all angles.
The one legged toy soldier is awesome, but the fact that he was compared to Diamante doesn't bode particularly well for… Diamante. He's probably going to be really important, but I have no idea how. At the very least, I really want to know what his crime is. He seems very polite and all.
Lucy. Hahahaha wow. That's gotta be the best gag since the timeskip. I died laughing. He couldn't have come up for a worse ending to the name if he tried. And then seeing Luffy destroy one of the strongest fodder guys with the Roshi beard gave me a huge smile. I feel like this tournament should introduce another major contender. Luffy and the Donquixote guys don't seem like enough for Oda. The tournament will really need another wild card or two that are actually participating. Of course, it has Franky, the old blind guy who seems to be Fujitora, the toy soldier, and possibly Dofla's other seats acting as wild cards who aren't participating, so the usual array of characters is there. Still though, the tournament itself could use a wider array as well, and I expect that it will. And the question isn't if Luffy's identity will be revealed, but when. My bet is on 2-3 chapters from now (that actually have tournament content).

The suggestion that Luffy wants one of his crew members to become the new fire logia is very intriguing. I'm thinking Sanji as a possibility but I'm not sure if he'd be willing to be a hammer. The man loves the sea and he may not want to give up his ability to swim. Zoro, I seriously doubt but its possible. I'm somewhat leaning more toward the Usopp and Nami of the weakling trio. Both seem likely to at least be enticed to being granted logia powers, especially Usopp who still has an occasional bout of cowardice. However both use unique weapons that I don't think would go well with such an offensive-oriented fruit. Not to mention a haki-user would also get the most out of such an ability. It seems it could be any one of these four as all would have some benefits and drawbacks.
Couldn't help but love that Sanji/Violet sequence. Yes, Sanji was willing to leave Zoro on the island effectively losing him forever, yes he got another nosebleed, but there was something strangely endearing about the whole sequence. While it's obvious she's played Sanji for a complete chump at least in some regard, I can't think of any other situation where Sanji actually has a chance at an actual romance instead of a one-sided unrequited infatuation. If even if there is no romance and she is using him, Sanji might "learn something about women" that might pay off later in the story and future encounters with beautiful yet dangerous women.
Also, not only has she told him that she stabbed a man in blind passion and Sanji's totally cool with it (actually kind of excited over the idea) but she then asks him to kill a man. We all know he's going to agree, which makes me wonder where this is going to go. Who does she want dead? Will he be someone who deserves it or an innocent victim. Will Sanji actually go through with it? And lastly, if Sanji were to execute a man, how would he do it–a kick in the head? The heart? Or a thorough deadly beating?
And the new alias of Lucy--a guy named Lucy wearing a fake old man beard becoming collesium champ. Too funny for words. Even his ability in the ring might not keep the crowds roaring with laughter.

When he Kinnemon wen't off to find his torso and got into trouble,Sanji declared Kinnemon's well being in that situation as his own responsibility and went to search for him.

I don't think we will witness it because someone would have to die and Oda doesn't like to kill characters off without a reason. I guess it is possible that some fodder with a useless DF will try to eat two as an experiment and then die.
This is Oda we're talking about, who after hundreds of chapters went and killed off two characters within 5 episodes or so of each other.

How about the chance of Violet being a dissident to Donquixote's regime and manipulating Sanji for the purposes of her group,urging him to assasinate a member of Doffy's crew.One big hole in this would be the fact that she can't possibly know Sanji's strength,but then again she might be thinking that she's using some random doofus as a diversion of sorts.
It's worth noting that an anti-government group wouldn't necessarily be good guys or rightous revolutionaries acting within the interests of people,as Doflamingo seems to be a benevolent and beloved leader,with the population being seemingly quite content with his rule.

BLACK-LEG Sanji would become … FIRE-LEG Sanji...?! I don't think that his "Black-Leg" title, his remembrence of Red-Leg Zeff, will change. Also, he already has the ability to kick with a leg on fire. It would make absolutely no sense for Sanji getting the fruit. He also, as it was said before, is the best lifeguard in the crew (not considering Jimbei). Why the hell should he lose so many characteristics?!
No one of the crew will get the fruit. All members have their unique fighting style. Getting the fruit would make their training during the timeskip pointless. I think it is possible that Luffy will keep the fruit some time and then give it to Coby. Or someone else, maybe already in this arc. But not to any current crew member.

So Sanji spends two years in hell with nothing more than okamas his worst nightmare (that and mermaid Kokoro)… And he hasn't been back in the real world a week and you expect him to be classic Sanji? In our time it's been years since the time-skip but the way Oda writes has only allowed a few days to pass since then. I get why people get annoyed but to me I just realised he's gone through hell so he can afford and enjoy all these nosebleeds.
If he wasn't sent to the Kamabaka Kingdom then things would turn out differently but that is where he was sent. It's a part of his character now until he gets over it and gets used to being around women again. Sanji will always help a damsel in distress, that's just how he is, just like he won't ever kick a woman. All I can say is that Sanji is a real Gentleman and a sucker for love. That's just who he is.
Plus, about the DF. I'd say that Sanji doesn't care about devil fruits, he said it earlier in East Blue didn't he? Oh well. But even if he did care about and want a devil fruit, he wouldn't eat it cuz it would conflict with his dreams. If he had eaten one PTS or during the TS then he wouldn't have been able to swim with the mermaids and enjoy it. If he eats a DF then yes he can still find and see the All Blue but he wouldn't be able to swim in it. I see Sanji as someone who values his ability to swim and I think he'd want to swim in the All Blue and really embrace his dream rather than looking at it from the Sunny

About Sanji's nosebleed… Oda has over 9000 running gags in One Piece and he uses all of them. A lot.
It's normal that from time to time the gags turn to be annoying.
Sanji's nose will continue bleeding every time he sees a hottie. That's a fact.

Someone here mentioned that Luffy will get handicapped in this tournament by not using his rubber powers so as not to give away his disguise. I can see Oda doing it, with Luffy trying to use it against stronger opponents but Franky restraining him everytime he tries to. Would really make for some cool and interesting fights.

How many times have any of the Strawhat or Sanji fought in water? Last time I checked even DF users can swim or fight underwater if it comes to that, what's the point of the "bubbles" if they aren't any DF users to use it? And when Jimbie joins then Sanji being best swimmer or stuff will be thrown off since Jimbie will be the water dude in the crew.
It still doesn't change the fact that oda showed us a post time skip move from sanji that makes him as fast as a fishmen, he wont ruin a skill he just created to give him a fruit, IMO
