Does anyone else think it's weird that Kid and Shanks share so much in common now?
Red hair, similar scars on the left eye, missing their left arms… and out of all the SNs, I think Kid has the best chance to rise up to a "yonko" position.
Yeah, I know they're two totally different characters, I just thought it was a little weird that their designs are now quite similar.

I am seeing a lot of speculation that killer and kidd gave their scars to eachother. While it is possible, I rather it not be true, the Kidd pirates are not really a threat to the strawhats anymore if they lose killer. Could you imagine how tough it would be for Zoro to fight someone as strong as killer while desperately holding onto his swords so that Kidd doesnt get him while he fights Luffy.
Not that I am expecting a big battle between them like that, I think it will mostly be small skirmishes as they race to Raftel.
Anyways I have my own ideas on the scars so hear me out, it may be a long shot, but no more so than Killer betraying Kidd. I am going to connect this to the timeskip as well so hold on. First, look at the form and color of the scars on both of them. There are a lot of scars in one piece, but I only recall one that has that color and explosive texture. I think that Kidd and Killer got hit with magma and a certain admiral's magma to be exact. Kidd's scars are the same color as luffy's and Killer's arm seems to be burned as well. It is my prediction that while Akainu was still in the new world after black beard, he heard about what Kidd did on his first island.
Akainu isn't the type to let potential like that get away so he attacked them and Kidd tried to use is giant arm of weapons attack on his left arm to hit the admiral. Akainu of course would have melted right through that and taken kidd's arm before unleashing a counter to engulf Kidd and Killer.
The pair did not die however, they picked up on what the strawhats and possible Law were doing and decided to train as well. If Luffy got trained by Rayleigh and Drake was "mentored" by kaidou, I do not think Oda would let Kidd get eclipsed by those two.
Yea kinda farfetched right? But I wanted to add some more to the discussion, I am not sure if I believe this full-heartedly myself.

I agree if it is heat based it has to be akainu. S.C is right, Marco's flames don't burn so Akainu is the only logical conclusion.
And yea I did not have time to say that if they did decide to train, it was probably Killer's idea, he seemed to be more of the brains compared to killer who fights every person who challenges him, even if he believes himself to be fighting Bartholomew Kuma.

Damn, these are cool. Law's great but I wish he had his old hat, Kidd is sweet and I'm liking him more now. Apoo and Drake look fantastic. Really excited for all these guys to play a bigger part in the New World.

I like the idea that Kidd & Killer fought against the magma-dude. Kidd in way always seemed to have a battle with Luffy and Law, in my eyes these three will be more then a less allied crews by the end of OP. So Kidd maybe heard that Luffy was saved by Law from the threat of an admiral. So maybe he did rescue Bonny from Akainu just to show "I can do that as well, don't mess with me or I'll freakin' kill ya". It would fit Kidd's character, it would explain Bonny beeing still alive, the scars, … I'd really like that!
You might as well forget about seeing the light of day. Ever again.
