I mean Oden forced himself on WB ship. I can see Yamato do the same. Same with Inu and Neko hiding on the Moby Dick and Oro Jackson, I can also see Carrot do the same.

Robin became more important as a potential contender to join the crew later in the story of Arabasta. In hindsight it was more obvious but during my first read/watch it was less obvious. Furthermore, both Robin and Nami become more fleshed out later in the story as well. Franky only started to make sense during Enies Lobby.

Does that mean Carrot will definitely get a story and join the crew? No, I can potentially already say that her story is over the moment she saved them with the Sulong move. Pedro mentioned that everybody has their moment and who knows, maybe that is or was her moment.

The only reason she fits as a potential Straw Hat is because the whole story of WCI she wasn't needed there and yet she was there. If Pedro didn't die I wouldn't have said that she had a chance. Cause the moment he died it seemed like she became part of the Inherited Will that most Straw Hats have. I believe somebody mentioned but what if Pedro is alive? Then I don't think she will join for sure.

We are at the moment speaking in the current state of things of the Manga. Wano isn't done yet, the fights aren't done yet. If right now the last chapter of Wano would be here then yes, Carrot doesn't join. But that isn't the case. Cause chances are that she still has something to do later in the story with Perospero, if that doesn't happen, then again I think she doesn't join. Her potential fight with Perospero is going to be important to her characterization. That said in the current story it seems she isn't going to fight him anymore and Nekomamushi is going after him. So again, her chances are indeed slim. But then again her past actions also make sense to be part of the crew.

Edit: And I am not trying to take the fun out of this guessing game here or saying anyone should feel bad for supporting their favorite side character with gusto. Just that being actually realistic will be more healthy for people.

I don't know what happened here in this forum. But as far as I know most people are just doing a guessing game? I feel that is fine. If character X doesn't join then that should be it and fine. I was a huge Jinbe contender since Impel Down and I am happy he finally officially joined. And if we are only getting 10 crewmembers in total I don't care if it is Carrot, Yamato, Kuzan or Vivi etc.

But it is quite demotivating to be seemed "stupid" when you believe X joins. Carrot made no sense to be part of the WCI story so her being more prominent at that time makes more sense. I don't see why that is putting things out of thin air. It is there.

In the current state of the manga I could even argue that non of the characters that are being mentioned as potential crewmembers make sense:

Akazaya –> Probably death, need to be with Momo
Yamato --> Came very random in the story, wants to be Oden, wants to protect Momo.
Kuzan --> Part of Blackbeard
Vivi --> maybe death, not strong, who knows.
Momo/Tama --> Kids, no.
Carrot --> Has no story.

Close the thread and open it again when Wano is almost finishing because nobody is joining anymore. This is of course exaggeration but I feel it takes a lot of fun out of the whole thread if you can't even argue about a character anymore.

Just seeing Big Mom's flashback again and the giants in Elbaf were talking about the Sun God. I like the fact that the New World seems to be pushing around things related to the Sun.

And then we have the Straw Hats that have their boat: Thousand-Sunny. I just think it is pretty cool that this seems to be a theme.

That aside with the latest chapters we now see that the Straw Hats are getting (mini) power ups again, not sure if I forgot something but for now it seems;

• Zoro –> Enma
• Sanji –> Raidsuit
• Chopper –> Rumble Ball upgrade
• Nami –> Zeus

So we have quite some characters that still need some upgrades and probably some of them are going to happen in a later arc;

Elbaf arc

Usopp seems to be a prime contender to get some sort of upgrade here. Elbaf will be very much related to Usopp. Yggdrassil or so.

Vegapunk arc
Franky I mean this says enough.

That leaves Robin, Brook and Jinbe and honestly I have no clue where they could be.

Brook perhaps also in Elbaf if they want to have relation to the Niflheim. The other two are no clue, perhaps their new stuff is going to be shown in the next few fights.

As I am re-watching One Piece with my girlfriend and we are currently at Whole Cake Island. Seeing how Carrot joined Luffy's ship similar to how the Minks joined Roger's ship already gave me a certain vibe. Then when Pedro died we saw some small bits from Carrot being trained by him given different weapons and telling how her fighting style could develop. I once heard people say that she is just a Mink nothing special: She was/is a ruler's aide and is a Musketeer wearing Guardian colours. This already made her more unique, furthermore when they were escaping from Big Mom in WCI the moment Jinbe took the helm, Carrot went up as and keep an eye on in the lookout. Furthermore, everything else you already mentioned makes a lot of sense. Cause, why bring Carrot if you already have Pekoms and Pedro?

Anyway, it can go both ways very easily. But I do think she still has a good chance at the end. Heck, the Thousand Sunny is literally named Sun and the Sun brings the Dawn so it would makes sense that she joins that ship then as well ;p.

Yamato is an interesting case but I like to see more of Wano before I could give a good opinion about it. Latest chapter did bring something interesting based on the other Straw Hats though… need to find the right topic for that.

Genko Genko no Mi I believe that would translate to the Language Fruit.

Technically you will be able to communicate with anything and anyone. Furthermore you are able to take in text really fast as well so you are a beacon of knowledge. The owner also becomes really apt with martial arts fighting styles due to the fact that his awakening helps the user in reading bodylanguages and thus you are able to learn any kind of martial arts with ease.

The latter was more of an awakening as well.

Well several Straw Hats also use Fire in their moves :p. Why not more ICE ICE BABYYYYYYYYYY

If Oda wants to leave the best impression of One Piece as an entire series, especially to his fans, it's better to have a punchy and satisfying conclusion rather than one which is long and watered down.

I am watching/reading One Piece close to 18+ years so I doubt I and many others will stop reading it :p. I do hope the ending will be great. Too many great stories had lackluster endings.

Hahaha. Yeah I get what you mean. I don't know Kuzan would work pretty well I think with his own agenda and such. I do wonder when he pops up again though. If we get the 13 crew members in total I wouldn't be suprised it is:

Jinbe, Carrot, Tama/Yamato, Kuzan.

I still think Yamato makes sense as well. Though I almost feel Carrot is a lock in the current setting we are storywise. But that discussion will be over soon when we get more info on certain fights and how Carrot is going to be used.

Oooh. Okay I give you Tama if you give me Carrot and Kuzan :ninja:. Honestly, I am slowly warming up to Tama more and more!

That aside I was quite surprised with Pirate Warriors 4 how much Carrot was being pushed with the Straw Hats there. Not that I think it was any indication of her joining the crew just something I noticed and then I was like this fits perfect!

Now coming back to the discussion. I think Kuzan actually could join as a last member. Especially with the lack of a Logia within the crew and Kuzan would work by the end of the story anyway.

While I am definitly more in the boat of Carrot joins the Straw Hats I am not perse someone that wants her with the Straw Hats. My main reason why I think she would be joining is why does she excist in the first place. No moment in the story I felt that whatever Carrot did was something SHE had to do. All the things that happened in Whole Cake Island with Carrot could have been done with Pekoms for example. So why create a Rabbit Mink that is different than the others? A Guardian Musketeer Mink, as far as I know there were no other Minks that had both things. For me it seems the way she is writting she is being put as a Straw Hat and I agree she isn't popping off compared to some other Straw Hats before they joined (Franky for example). Doesn't mean that isnt going to happen.

Anyway, I feel the story is pointing her out towards joining the crew. If it happens cool, if it doesn't she 100% joins the Grand Fleet. But for the moment I find it weird she has been around the Straw Hats all the time.

In regards to the poster and how they call everyone Straw Hats. I wasn't aware this happened with the Franky Family as well, it has been a while ;).

And yet Oda continues to draw her. Carrot has no reason to be where she is. Oda could have put her with the other Minks. He could have drawn Namis reactions alone. Carrot and Nami could have split up. Carrot could have somehow escaped differently if Oda wanted to. But all of that doesn't matter cause Oda decides to draw her next to the Straw Hats. Oda keeps reminding us that Carrot is in the same location as the rest of the Straw Hats. Does Robin have a solo scene or big moment since the raid began? Jinbei after they landed on the island? Sanji, Franky and Brook have disappeared for mutliple chapters before their entrance this chapter and while they were gone Oda continued to draw Carrot. Just like those got their moment there will also be a moment for Carrot and why she needs to be where Oda put her. I feel like repeating myself too often but Perosperos is heading to Big Mom, Carrot is next to Big Mom. I will honestly be shocked and confused if that has no payoff.

I am with you on that point. But also I explained above, I feel she didn't need to join the Whole Cake Island arc at all. They could have done all those things with Pekoms as well. And now she is still with Big Mom and the other Straw Hats. I am really curious where it goes. But I do agree if nothing happens that puts her in the limelight, then she really doesn't join the main crew.
