It's also a nostalgia wave kicking in. I mean, I was a huuuuuge MLP fan as a kid, but since then there was nothing MLP-related to get excited about. Until now. It's like childhood has returned, or something.

on the topic of Fluttershy - she really is a fantastic character to me. she's sweet and lovely yet almost never annoying - except for that one episode where they had to go climb the mountain to the dragon and she kept holding them back :/
Pinkie Pie still has to be my favourite, though. for some bizarre reason, I have yet to find her noticeably annoying, and I'm up to Episode 15 or so.
