Perhaps it was a sudden, jabbed touch-and-go greeting hug and you found it awkward because it was sudden and you're not used to them. Perhaps it was one whose warmth lingered in the seconds you made contact and brightened your day. Perhaps it was a sincere one with a family member over a sentimental discussion that touched your heart.
Do you regularly hug people? Do you use it as a greeting in that aforementioned awkward way? Is it totally not awkward for you and other people are weird for thinking it in that manner? How often do you expect shipments of hugs to arrive to your body?
Here is a letter I wrote to a future hug
Dear Future Hug,
I hope you do not come with heavy splashes of cologne, because I don't usually like other people's taste in artificial body smells.
