not finishing a book is an easier gift to self than not finishing a movie in a theater. what to do with delillo's "underworld". beautiful prose and a story about what?! could it be nothing?! 108 pages. that's a critical buddhist number, right? maybe the grind gets worth it, but i'll celebrate by quitting. yay! while i'm on a negative, ugh, "swann's way". eff sake, how many pages did that momma's boy need to whine about her good night kiss? BUT "everything and more" was great and "to hell and back", too.

RE: What Have You Learned Today?
i have learned that if you don't wait on the front stoop for the delivery man, he will come.
i'm damned certain that's an original idea. i'd better copyright that and one-click ordering right now. wait…
and now i can go back into the office. yay, right? (i'm thinking internet is the new 15-minute cigarette break.)
lata kiddies.

RE: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
@Kareem:
good that Miyazaki wants people to actually think about the characterization
ah, i'm in the camp that believes what someone said about what someone said about that miyazaki himself said he was more interested in the atmosphere provided by backdrops than stories (at whatever point in time he said that). i'm not saying "only" but "more". i loved "spirited away", "howl's moving castle" had its fetching moments, and "my neighbor totoro" was fun, BUT. he's a bit regimented when it comes to peter pan stories, with their arcs and characters.
sorry to hate. while i'm at it, "mononoke" was pretty, but i thought it was a five minute story, too.
@THE:
Anyone else thinks Princess Mononoke is over-rated?
so, yeah, i think it's over-rated, and it's also not my idea of pulp. i'm a "battle royale" sort, so maybe i need to sneak back out of this thread.
pardon, pardon.

@Kareem:
Name a manga in it's league lol
depends on how you define "its league", eh?

RE: Gintama Discussion
I loved how they did Doraemon reference with the voice and all!
see, i know nothing about doraemon, but it still has chuckle-worthiness for me.
sure, i could know about doraemon, but i suspect there'd be pain and anguish involved.

RE: What Have You Learned Today?
jesus reads one piece? does that make it the holy manga?
wait. i forgot the rules to jeopardy.
i learned that jesus (presumably) reads one piece, so it must be the holy manga.

RE: What Have You Learned Today?
Well you've had thousands of years to do it. Get your priorities straight, man.
did jesus kill this thread? i like this thread. come back, come back.
today i learned nothing. well, i learned something, but i've trained hard, so i can forget whatever's inconvenient.

Hey guys, does anyone know where I can read the Dr Slump manga?? I can't find a site containing the entire manga.
wasn't gantz waiting room and that trio (offtopia, and …?) doing that one?
