As for Villian., maybe The Rhino? the Chamelon is boring as a stand alone villian. Scorpion would be cool, as would Hydro man and Electro. The Vulture and the Lizard seem out of the question espaciallly if this movie intends to show audiences we're different than the other series (as both we're considered for Spiderman 4). That being said I'd doubt we'd get The Green Goblin, or Doc Ock. There's Hammer Head too.

Lizard might work as a true tragic villain, maybe even more so than Doc Ock in the second film if done right. Really play off the "man vs. monster" aspect perhaps in comparison with Peter and his spider powers and it would be a nice film.
Lizard was never one of my favorites, but that character could probably hold the spotlight for a whole movie what with all the how do i kill my friend/mentor drama that comes with doctor connors.
Or Jamesson, Smythe and the spidey slayers? Throw in two or three models of the slayer for him to fight and we've got a show. It leaves plenty of room for the intrigues of Parkers everyday life given that the slayers and smythe were never that big on the story as they were on the bang. And also gives Peter a chance to show of his science smarts as well.
And as unlikely as it is i'd love to see the enforcers in a Spidey movie, even if for just a moment. Or in combination with for example Tombstone as the spec version where he's only about twice as awesome as king pin.
Kraven needs to be in this movie.
But like i've said before what i'd love to see a a spidey flick that has more of an episodic feel to it, yknow there isnt one main villain there are 2 or 3 of them in the entire movie and they get wrapped up alot faster. Something like the Shocker robs a bank, brief fight and gab, bam there ends the fight and we're moving on with Peters social mishaps, oh what's that Rhino is ripping up shit down town in the middle of the date, cue the nicely coreographed fight scene etc etc you get the point.
Thus making it so that the focus of the story is on Peter Parker and his life, and the spidey fighting villains bit is more of the sideline and not the end all. No 2 hour build up that ends in a boring "dramatic" showdown ending on top of the empire state building but just another day where the teenager fighting a supervillain schtick cuts into his dating life, his family responsibilities and his job and how it all combines to lead in to a bummer ending for plain ol' Parker.
I actually would like to see this again, I really would, but the problem is, it doesn't work well for a movie, especially if the movie is called "Spiderman".
What you described to me was more of a "Peter Parker" movie, and if it were to actually be made, it would be a little odd. Seeing something be episodic in a movie sometimes feels rushed in my opinion, and that kind of gets in the way of entertainment.
I grew up with the 90's Spiderman and I love what I can remember of it, and I'm also enjoying some of Spectacular Spiderman whenever my friend sends me a youtube link for it, but when it comes to the movies, I guess I have higher expectations and want a more theatrical feel than an episodic feel.
Now, if they made a Spiderman/Peter Parker TV series that wasn't animated and focused more on Peter like you described, THEN I would be quite happy.
Well i suppose it could be hard to pull off, but it worked for Favereu's Iron man films. They're pretty much 75% life and times of Tony Stark with a sidedish of Iron man action. And not really with a focus on a big bad's plan that dictates the whole plot but yet they dont feel lacking in the theatrical department. Atlest not to me.
As for a live action show, i dont know why but i cant stand those. Smallville which is supposedly a pretty great show just rubs me the wrong way. The special effects technology hasnt gone far enough to make the seams betwenn the effects and the real sets invisible enough for me to enjoy it witout being bothered by the cheesiness.

Ah well I guess you're right about that, Iron Man does manage to focus on Stark's life more than his Iron Man side, and I actually really did like the 2nd movie because of the fact that he was searching for a cure for himself and that he actually created an element (I'm a bit of a science nerd, so that's mainly why I liked it).
And a live action show would be good if they keep the villians and have them be continuous, and not be killed after 1 episode like in Smallville.

It was fun watching Clark learn and practice his powers as he discovered them, but after he discovered them all, they moved on to major villians, and severely ruined that.
Bizarro wasn't too major, but they made him in a season finale, and killed him in the next season premiere. That was a lame move.
And Doomsday was built up throughout a whole season, only to have him fight Clark in the season finale for barely a few minutes. And to top it off, they made him have a human form and they put him in a love story.
Stupid, stupid, STUPID move.
If (and that's a BIG if) they were to do a Spiderman live action show, I sure hope they never follow the same route Smallville did.:wassat:

Doesn't matter about that. There are several points even before OMD where Peter still struggled with thoughts over Gwen. Several stories in Peter Parker: Spider-Man focused on that, the entirety of Spider-Man: Blue focused on that, as well as plenty of ASM stories mixed in there.
Also, Gwen has only had two notable mentions in the Brand New Day era. One was Peter flat-out saying, "You were the girl I loved the most" at her grave, the other was Chameleon as Peter telling MJ, "We had problems in our relationship because you weren't her."
BND Peter spends more time banging Black Cat, trying to hook up with Carlie, working out his friendship with Betty, having mixed feelings for his roommate Michele, flirting with Norah, and generally wondering what the hell happened between him and MJ.

While the scenario of OMD is controversial (lots hate it, some like it, I enjoyed it), it doesn't change that BND has certainly had some great stories regardless, i.e. 617 and 625 made me LOVE Rhino.
I'd be more concerned about the overly stretched Clone Saga or shitty arcs like "Sins Past" than those.
To truly catch up, you need WAY more than the ~485 issues of ASM. The '80s and '90s had a habit of spreading arcs between books, so ASM might have parts 1 & 4, Web would have 2 & 5, and Spectacular would have 3 & 6, for example. Not to mention Peter Parker: Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man Family, Amazing Spider-Man Annuals, and several limited series.
I just had the bizarre connection with this movie, and it's a complete smack in the face from God or something.
Today, I saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the last movie Heath Ledger was in, and died in the development of. I liked it. Not bad. But throughout the movie, there was a character named Anton who I couldn't help but stare at.
"Who is this actor?"
"He's not bad looking."
"I swear he seems familiar."
So when I went to look him up today…....it's Andrew Garfield, our new Spiderman.
So......I guess I'm kind of okay with him now.......Yeah....I'm petty like that.

I was actually hoping this movie wouldn't get made so the rights to use Spider-Man would revert back to Marvel. That would've meant the possibility for a cross-over with the Avengers or another hero Marvel still has rights too. I much more prefer that. I also have an uneasy feeling about this film. I'm still not entirely sure if I'll want to see it. I guess will see in due time.

I like the new costume design. I always hated the pop out white striping on the old one.
Its still way too complicated for a teenager to make in his bedroom out of fabric, (because he's not going to stop and make each of those squares individually) but its a bit less gaudy. Its also a lot lankier too, which I like.
Also notice the hands, it almost looks like he made the suit out of old motocross gear or something. And also he doesn't look emo, looks like he just got his ass beaten judging by the scratch on his face and dirt on the suit.

Spiderman didn't exactly have the happiest of superhero lives. The fact that his character is supposed to be the joker of the superheroes who actually manages to crack jokes at/with Deadpool disturbs me.
I understand forcing a smile when covered in dread, but…
Not to mention, that's how they're going to present super heroes always. Downey's Iron Man isn't exactly a Debbie Downer and is one of the most fun superheroes to watch, but his advertising is always shown with him being bad ass, dark, and/or menacing.
EDIT: And my opinion...I like the costume design. But more importantly, I like the appearance of the actor so far. I might be my undying hatred of Toby Maguire, but I like this kid so far.
Now....I want to see how he'll hide his British accent.

Still way better than the lame white wire frame thing the other one had. It was waaaay too pronounced… and white... on that one.
Black trim is closer. And he really doesn't need all that much as long as the red and blue are in the right places.
I'm worried that this will be too dark for Spider-man. Because acocording to sources it will be'' dark, gritty and contemporary'' and they compared to the Batman Begins.

4. The reason Rami left is because Sony wanted multiple villains instead of just one (Spider-Man 3 anyone), and they wanted him to make this movie on a reduced budget. Rami probably felt he wouldn't be able to do Spider-Man justice and make up for 3 with these restraints, so he walked.

Guess i have something in common with mr Raimi then. Always considered Venom to be one of the weakest spiderman villains.

Fun fact: That was originally supposed to be a Batman story with Hugo Strange, hence why it felt so dark and gritty.

But…then again Batman Begins wasn't really dark, or really gritty at least compared to the Dark Knight. Spidey has some pretty serious story-lines but my greatest fear is that they will kill off Gwen too soon. That would terrible writing, and she needs to come out of this film alive. The mainstream audience needs an emotional attachment to her, to forget

The casting director thought Hugh Laurie was native American when he saw him first.

Well Marvel has the rights to make their own movies of the Avengers and the characters in it, such as Iron Man, the Hulk, Cap', Ant-Man, and Wasp. They don't own the rights to make a Spider-man movie right now, that belongs to Sony, so Spider-man won't be in Avengers unless Sony sold the rights back, which I don't think they would if they are planning on making a full series from this reboot.
This is the same reason why we won't see the X-men crossover with the Avengers movies.
I like this image. The thing about releasing this sort of pic ( besides stealing Cap's thunder ) is that it automatically gets people thinking about "their" Spidey.

Wasn't Mary Jane like that as well in the previous films? Gwen has been with relationship with Parker for quite a long time. This could be a chance to establish themselves differently from the first set of films. I would prefer she got killed in the second film then in the last film they have Mary Jane comforting him, and slowly revealing that complex side of her through him.
That would a pretty good blueprint.
