Im starting to think that Luffy and Zoro have haki. This would enable them to fight logias…... Also i think dragon have the ability to control elements.

Zoro having Haki and Dragon controlling element aren't obvious (just probably), but people have started to think about that posibility since Napoleon was born.

Well, Zoro's done some absurd stuff with his sword play that we've seen haki users do (haki users on Amazon Island). For example, he's used a fire-technique with his sword to burn his opponents, most recently during the Moria arc against Ryuma(?). This could technically fall under the haki umbrella since Hancock's sister supposedly used haki to create fire snakes.
I'm late in here but thx for the chap. Well like i said in the spoiler thread, sabos chances of surviving aren't that high. Nobles or eventually marines are going to sink that ship. 1000 lolz if we hear "if you'd go on a journey…" againg and kuma zaps that little bastard away for the moment...

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMM, haha you know, that is actually pretty plausible. Assuming Kuma had the Paw Paw fruit at that point.
Dragon could be like, "Kuma."
Kuma: "Yes."
He teleports to Sabo, sends him away (to the ship?), then goes back. Celestial Dragons blow up the ship before they see what happened. Everyone thinks Sabo is dead.
Maybe, maybe.

Marigold used a match to light herself on fire. Zoro's use of fire typically also came from external sources.
Everyone has haki… Zoro has haki, Sanji has haki, Sanji's shoes have haki, Usopp's nose has haki and Nami's breasts has the grow haki

I think she have already, it is reached the perfect size.
It's been said, but I can't see Sabo living through this flashback, or it has to atleast appear like he's dead - Luffy seemed pretty adamant that they were his brother's during the flashback yet after or in the middle of the war said Ace was his only brother in the world

The Ryuuma fight seems to have a little differnce to that.

I think that life-saving route through that fire was made by Kuma's Paw Paw fruit power only, no?

+1 I support your idea, and i'd say, its in this moment when Maybe an admiral that escorts the celestical dragons shows up, or maybe sengoku himself or anyone else that is powerful to counter-attack Kuma, then they will capture him and offer him to Dr Vegapunk for his researches.. Otherwise, how can he showup next to the governement, then join them later..
Very plausible, i'd say.
You're smart dude! y0.

Buggy has the fake hype haki.
I haven't read the rest of the thread so this might have already been mentioned but this chapter gives a greater reason for why Oda killed off Ace rather than just to hurt Luffy. If Ace was strong enough to use haki at age 10 then he was definitely stronger than Luffy. This means Luffy wouldn't have stood a chance at being Pirate King if Ace had really wanted it. So Oda gets rid of an obstacle for Pirate King at the same time he manipulates Luffy's character. Bravo.

I don't think that's haki, from what we've seen haki has a couple purposes
A) hearing voices: similar to mantra, or maybe the same, this allows people to hear what there oponents will do next
B) enhance: it's been implied that haki makes weapons stronger or even makes the users stronger
C) Nullifying DF's: works on logias well as well as paremcia's like luffy, allows you to hurt them, idk how far this ability can extend for example if you hit magellan with haki, will your hands be hurt?
D) Blocking: this is the one I'm unsure about I think we've seen it as another ability here

other notes:
A is why I think zoro has haki he can hear the heart beats and breathing of rocks trees etc. I think this might be similar and he's yet to waken is full abilities, but this has yet to be stated
different types of haki mean different things although we only know one so far
my crazy ideas:
an opinion of mine is that roger had some sort of will of D type haki ability/transformation that he used to be able to fight toe to toe with WB in his prime, what it would be i don't know but i think if true luffy will gain this ability to beat BB
and that's all i know about haki
It's not just haki, it's the king haki that Ace used at 10 the same way Luffy used it on MarineFord. With only 7-8 years of delay.
I haven't seen anyone call the ability to hear voices (which again is perhpas different from Zoro's ability to hear the breath of things) anything but mantra. How do you know for sure its related to haki?
Nothing is for sure but don't you see the obvious connection?
This was a great chapter! I like how, Dadan and her friends came in to save Luffy and Ace from Bluejam. Also, it was pretty cool of Dadan and Ace to stay behind and fight Bluejam. And, it was cool to see Kuma in Dragon's crew too. Anyways, I predict that next chapter that Dragon will be doing something to interrupt the Tenryuubito when they come visit the kingdom.
I find Ace having haki really cheap. From now on it would be ideal if noone more had King's disposition. Just ordinary powerfull will projecting in wonderfull perks as profit. And not everyone-every second. No, every third would be more preferable.

He is the son of the pirate king who was said to be an extraodinary man regarding hearing voices and probably an ambition expert… He ain't a random villager in eastblue.

Haki's apparently genetic, and we should have seen him having it coming long ago.
Why do people get worked up about this? King's is still rare enough to fit into the one in million ratio.

Think what you want but for me that moment was really pulled. It could've been easily skipped with no losses. Bringing haki just for one moment was unnecessary.
And I find you laughable for falling down to internet insults.
cheap ace, good thing he died. []
Ok, I admit he's sort of a dick here…but that doesn't mean he ''deserved'' to die...

Huh LOL. Nothing is a given in this manga, but yes, I can see the logic.

Yeah it seems as if a genetic link is what they are implying when Garp says "Oh he was born with it" (or somehting to that effect, during the war
The other thing to remember is just becasue something is genetically passed down is no guarantee it will be passed automatically.

Is it true about it being genetic? I've read a translation with Garp saying, "I knew he had it in him", when Luffy used Haki during the war. I'm not sure if that was more accurate. But if he did indeed say, "So he really was born with it", it doesn't necessarily mean it's genetic. It could mean at the very least that strong wills are inherited, which has been noted quite a few times.
If what I'm saying is correct about strong wills being inherited, then that, along with the fact of the user having a strong will himself/herself, that would manifest King's Haki in somebody. At least that is my belief on the matter. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Zoro, who has shown time and again that he has a strong will in many ways, displayed King's Haki at some point in time.
Anyways, Ace's Haki "blast" showed to be quite weak in comparison to Luffy's during the war. Bluejam wasn't even fazed. Nor did he know what happened. Luffy's blast covered a larger area. Perhaps this is an indication that Luffy's level of Haki is quite strong in comparison to Ace's.

I don't know… Maybe you can't compare Aces blast when he was 10 to 17/18 years old luffys one?
i wonder what was the point of showing Ace using Haki ?
sure this must be a foreshadowing of Haki explanation in the future
I think lots of people here are just realy afraid Haki might turn into OP's "energy beams" aka Dragonball .
There are certain things that have been constant since this whole saga (Flying Fish Riders to current) began:
It's normal for the flashback to cover some of these themes.
IMO, there's nothing wrong with small ace using haki.
he probably didn't even KNOW that he used it, just like luffy doesn't know when he uses his own.
that's why he didn't use haki against blackbeard and akainu, because he never learned about it, and thus couldn't control it.
also, haki is very promising. it could turn out good like nen from hunter x hunter.
@MDL:

Considering that Marco was blocking attacks from Kizaru and Akainu and WB kept bitch-slapping Ace every time he tries to kill him, this seems unlikely.

i should clarify, i meant that he might have never learned that HE had haki.
sure he'd have learned about it, from such examples that you mentioned, but i reckon that ace never even considered that he had it himself.
or, his fire powers were serving him so well that he never saw the need to be taught how to harness it.
I really dont understand why Oda is trying to create a particular impression of Ace on us by attaching random characteristics like "I do not run" bullshit ala Whitebeard's "I do not dodge." Whitebeard was an awesome character and he lived like a king throughout. So it did make sense that he died as a king and for that he needed the build-up of "I do not dodge" and that suited his character really well because indeed WB did not dodge so many attacks by akainu and kizaru in the preceding chapters. Even if he had not showed WB 'not dodging' previously, it does not really matter because we know very well that WB is so powerful that he can take on 2 admirals at a time. So literally anything on the likes of dodge, run will do for him because we know that he is capable and he is "legendary".
On the other hand, Ace isn't like that. He lost to BB (though not shown explicilty), was not shown any signs of haki and was directly abused by akainu that his DF is inferior compared to his. So obviously once he died, it is natural for everyone to think that he died not just because he was trying to protect luffy but many other factors like no haki, inferior DF etc (remember haki wasn't shown for ace that time and the next chap akainu fights vista, marco and says "Oh Haki, what a pain"). So oda clearly showed that Ace isn't powerful. Done and dusted! Lets leave him at that. He does not need a WB kind of farewell because he is not even close to being legendary.
But then why does he have to name a chapter on that crap and project him as if he is a kick-ass character and he died in the hands of Akainu EXCLUSIVELY because he was trying to protect luffy.
I love everything about the flashback except for Ace. He is getting irritating day by day! Let him rest in peace Oda. Leave him please!
I don't see why we have to pay any of these Ace revelations or characterization any mind. He's dead.
Its nice to see Kuma in the background there
yes back on track kuma the revolutionary
readers who think that Sabo will die are very very dump i always said it this is a very stupid ass theory ,
Sabo being a pirate just to die come on !!
Ace gone
Sabo live
This flashback really emphasizes oda's genius.
The quiet windmill area that we thought was just one small island from chapter 1, turns out to be a backwater island on the outskirts of A WHOLE FREAKIN KINGDOM!
and we never suspected it at all. we naturally wrote the whole area off as being entirely bumpkin.
also, the crossed out 'S' on sabo's flag, it's the one on ace's arm!
the way he ties things back into the story is incredible.
that's why you should pay attention to every small detail in one piece, because Oda has the writing skills to bring them back to the surface seemlessly.
there are more than a few manga artists who trip over too much info and events, but oda manages brilliantly
fantalk over
I think it isnt to weird thinking Sabo will die..we all saw what happened in SA what happens when you walk in front of a Tenryuubito, let alone sail in front of there ship after days of preperation and everything (the people also warned him to come back).
@No:

Yes. It really starts to scare me that everyone strong either uses DF or has Haki. Yes, Haokushou(or how it was) is indeed rare and one in a million but for us, readers, it starts to get common. And that is uncool. And ordinary haki. I understand that you get powerful either by DF or by that haki(to be able to compete with Logias as I see). But I hope it will take the tones of "he is so brave and lively that his believe in himself gives him the power to suppress that cheat stuff, and he grew that power from seeds that everyone has himself" and not as everyone is just born and do not work for it.
Interesting-writing this made me feel easier about ordinary haki. Still I hope there would be no more bearers of Sovereign. I understand they all get where Luffy is going but it will feel crowded.
