Perhaps Crocodile had the hook and scar before he ate the fruit and fruits can't heal any scars/missing limbs from before they're eaten.
Most Disappointing Thing in One Piece
-
-
It shouldn't matter. Logia fruits don't protect you from bodily harm when Haki is used, losing a limb or being cut and scarred should be no different. Not to say Croc couldn't have still had them before (I doubt it personally) but he can just as easily have gotten them afterwards.
We've actually seen Smoker get a new scar from Arabasta to when we see him after EL, so there's actual proof if anyone needed it.
-
He can turn his hook into sand too so I was thinking why couldn't he just reform that into a hand, but maybe he can't actually change the physical properties of an object besides making it sand like how his clothes go back to being clothes. Which also makes me wonder if he can revert sand back into its original state, like the stuff that got turned into sand with ground death. It's also a possibility that he lost his hand before getting the devil fruit.
It is possible that Logia Devil Fruit powers can't affect scars or severed limbs from before consumption. That's one of the many things we still don't know about Devil Fruits yet, which makes me yearn for the appearance of Vegapunk and his precise explanations on the mystery of the fruits.
Dammit. These are the questions that need to be put in an SBS, instead of random penis jokes. sigh

The most disappointing thing was when Sanji stopped wearing dresses :(

The fact that Akainu hasn't suffered a very slow and painful death yet.
-
I think in the end the concept of the Davy Back Fight itself will have importance, and Foxy losing to Buggy and being forced to join him will also be important. :ninja:
But, it's true that arc really wasn't as full of overarching plot elements like most other arcs/sagas had. It had a few, just not many. There could also be some plot element involving the previous world record holder for stilts, I guess.
But in the end, while it might not have had all that much to do with the rest of the story, it was also very short (15 chapters or so). So when considering the length, it wasn't really so bad.
I'm kind of waiting for the New World to have their own, serious DBF , while what they do anywhere else is considered "child's play".
-
The fact that Oda currently has an illness.
-
The fact that no one can come up with a serious, original reason to be disappointed.
-
I've been skimming the posts so I can kinda fit in with the conversation (latecomer, o hai~) but I'm just gonna jump right in since the primary purpose is to post what you don't like about One Piece after all. :3
Me? Probably my biggest problem (or the one that instantly springs to mind) is how characters keep springing back to life. Yes, it's One Piece and I love it for its craziness, but it's got to a point where I'm not even surprised in the slightest if somebody reappears. Even worse, I've been reading and now share the opinion that part of Ace's death was to show that people do die in this series. I loved Ace and whatever the future outcome, I know I'll be a bit… well, 'eh'. If Ace stays dead, I'm gonna be sad, if Ace comes back to life, I'm gonna sigh and think things along the lines of, 'here we go again'.
And Sabo... People are already talking (not necessarily on AP but on the internet and offline in general) about what they think he'll look like and what his VA will be... Gahhh--
-
Well Sabo is heavily implied to be alive…
Ace's insides were melted and his grave was next to WB's at the funeral, so barring Moria, Ace isn't going to come back. Likewise with Halfbeard's numerous injuries including being Halfbeard.
-
Surprised that no one mentioned Usopp (Didn't read all the pages).
He made me laugh a lot but the continuation of him being a coward throughout the series annoyed the hell out of me.
Mind you, I'm still watching the anime and reading the manga (Thriller Bark Arc).

Well you souldn't be surprised because it's obvious that Oda wants to make Usopp the SH closest to us(readers).IIRC it was even stated in an SBS

Aah, now I got that. That makes a lot of sense and to be honest, kinda makes it less annoying.

I never disliked Usopp (I actually quite liked the light hearted humour of his character and all) but it does make sense that his purpose as a link between the Strawhats and the reader. Some of those guys are quite superhuman after all… Damn, the more I read and learn about One Piece, its world and everything, the more I love this series.

The thing i am most disappointed of OP right now is that the Red Hair pirates just let the marines try to kill Luffy.
Of 'course Ben Beckman wouldn't try to hit Kizaru 'cause then the war would continue, but why didn't they stop the marines from attacking Luffy???
What's the point in telling everyone to stop the war if you don't support it with your actions?
What's the point of Shanks acting so badass and then doing nothing but watching the marines chasing Luffy?
Luffy got away alive just because he was lucky! Not because Shanks helped him. -
we still haven't seen the fishman dojo where there could be a potential crewmate
-
Yeah, I'm pretty surprised that there hasn't even been a single mention of the dojo since Hody put his plan into action. I'm starting to worry that if any fighters from it do show up, they'll only end up jobbing to the bad guys.

They wanted to stop a war, not to start a new one…
And how exactly do you stop a war when you just let the one side attack however it pleases????
If Shank's crew just stopped the assaults of Kizaru and Akainu without actually hurting them the war would still be over! But at least they would have supported their words with their actions and would have made the whole situation seem more realistic!
But why Shanks told them to stop or he personally would join the fight and after this he let the marines continue chasing Luffy is beyond me… -

lol, are you kidding me? Usopp is great precisely for being the coward! If he wasn't a coward, he would be One Piece's Krillin. And no one wants to be Krillin, right?
All his battles he gets beaten to a pulp, but in the end, even if he takes a beating, he brags about being "Captain Usopp".
By the way, Sogeking is the best gimmick EVER.

I agree. I think the fact that he is a coward makes his victories or moments of awesome even more satisfying. I remember how happy I was when he had his first victory against a fishman. He is human but his ideals and his friends make him go beyond that.

Although his dream is too be a brave warrior of the sea, I don't think he will always remain a complete coward. Sure he will still be cowardly at times in the future, I believe post time skip Ussop will be more brave and less intimidated by strong pirates. Also Ussop is also known for being an excellent sniper; his unique abilities helped save robin.

True, true. But, when they started to go downwards to Fishman Island, you can see a panel of him being a bit scared (even though he denies it in the (same) panel)

Hey. You. shut up. Krillin's awesome for that very reason. He always tried, always. All he wanted to was to live long enough to get married, mission accomplished.
I think the only thing that bothers me now and always will are the Cocky Logia users… They're way too smug for someone who just got lucky enough to eat a fruit that makes you invincible.
Smoker calling pirates trying to enter the grand line "weak" because they couldn't hit him pissed me off beyond belief. I know Oda made a way for them to be beaten now, but take into the fact that most people in the OP world don't know how to awaken their Haki, so you have these Logia douchebags running about with this "established self-worth" they didn't work for.
And you can tell that most of them have gotten lazy because of it, never dodging bullets, unable to take punches, etc.
Usually the user behind the power is cool to make up for it, but man do characters like that tick me off.

That is probably one of the reason Ace died. His logia fruit made him too cocky. I have always held the belief that logia is not always an advantage. In fact it can be seen as a disadvantage against strong non logia opponents. For example, it was shown that ace had the potential for Haoshoku at an early age, why did he not develop it. I believe it is because he put too much faith in his df that he neglected improving his haki.
In conclusion, logia are good but they put individuals in the mindset of relying too much on it and thus not learning haki. so although logia is an advantageous power, it is a psychological disadvantage to those rely too much on it.

You apologize right this instant, Mister!
And, uh, to contribute to discussion, um, I don't like how Caribou is completely ignored ever since he started kidnapping mermaids.

I'm sure it's just to set up for something big he'll do later…

I'm disappointed with posts that say "X character has disappeared!"
Especially when those complaints come from an arc that is not finished.Buggy took several hundred chapters to reappear, but when he did, he did it quite flashily.
Crocodile took forever to reappear (and didn't even need to, but now we're all glad he did) but became extremely badass and more of a dynamic character after doing so.
Shirley disappeared in the current arc for 20ish chapters, but look who's back in the most recent chapter: her.
Caribou has disappeared, but he will obviously go the same route as Shirley.I would just like certain people to think of this series as a whole, and remember certain happenings.
"Okay… so it seems like at the end of the arc, most, if not all, characters reappear, even the minor ones.
Hell, even the Franky Family and the frog reappeared in Enies Lobby, when they could have been thrown away.
Is it a reasonable assumption to think that Character X is going to disappear during this arc which -- in all likelihood -- is not even halfway done?"I'm not ragging on any particular user, but posts like that do irk me a little bit.
And Davy Back arc was fun as hell; I marathoned the whole thing in the anime.

I'm dissapointed at being dissapointed by the dissappointment. This 2 weeks waiting is driving me looney; so I'll repeat it again I'm dissapointed at not finding something to be dissapointed in the first place.

Am disappointed that explosions no matter how large or how devastating never seem to do much damge to characters, the survival rate for explosions is very high and that just sucks. It also sucks that apparently the WG is going to hand a former Roger pirate a "prestigous" titile after been shown that they apparently executed innocent women and unborn children in order to eradicate Rogers influence, And why didnt WB just storm Impel down or intercept Ace's transport from ID to marineford and couldnt sengoku just have executed ace the moment WB showed up himself.

Talking about Buggy? They know buggy is a nobody but they might as well make use of him.
MF is closer to the NW and how would they know where to intercept?
Then WB would have just sunk the entire island soon after.

I'm not exactly sure why does Nico Robin has this huuuuuge cleavage lately. Don't get me wrong, I like boobs as much as the next guy, it's just that it might seem a little uncomfortable fighting with those two giant milk bags wiggling around.

Maybe she is afraid that the zipper will stick into her cleavage, when she tries to zip her shirt up? :wassat:
By the way, it would probably also be very uncomfortable to fight in stilettos and that long skirt. Alright, every One Piece woman has no problem running around in stilettos, but in an ankle-long skirt, you can hardly move your legs. Then rather wear a short skirt or even better - regular pants like Nami does. (or nothing at your body at all, that gives ultimate freedom of movement :ninja:)

It's obviously like that so she can distract the enemy.
