chapter 327 will be released February 10 which is nice… two chapters within 2-3 weeks of each other.

This is what I heard too.
I'm not entirely sure about the other thing… like him "not liking the idea". Never heard that one. -
Don't we get a glimpse of the Idea after Griffith decides to become a demon?
-
Yeah. I heard that "was" the lost chapter aparently. Could be wrong.
-
@Cyan:

We do get a glimpse of the Idea of Evil in the chapter that Griffith is turning into Femto. It's the chapter after that one that's the lost chapter. So it's still implied that Griffith did meet the Idea either way.
-
lost chapter is quite interesting to read…i read it after reading all the available chapters...that way it was even more interesting...

I'm sorry, the words "the" and "heart" in succession within a single panel have been forever ruined for me. Damn you white laundry detergent.

I do love the spreads that Miura does, but I can't be the only person wanting the story to progress more.
-
I artgasmed. Beautiful spreads and it seems like the plot will have to advance next chapter!
-
Beautiful art as always.
Looks like this arc is basically done.
-
"Guts…
..Gut's is...!" [END CHAPTER]
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
-
Guts is a monster. I'm glad we're finally progressing and leaving this arc tbh.
-
God dammint, why does it end like this…fuuuuuu-
I hate and like when they end the chapters like this. -
Gaaaah! Damn cliffhangers. I really don't think I'll ever get over how amazing the art in Berserk is.
-

Well, I did relish in the panel that had Puck in non-chestnut form.
Not really, I feel the same way. Not only with story progression, but character progression as well. At least the Lost Children Arc had a consistent focus and development on Guts' dark path and his tenuous alliance with Puck. In this arc, Guts was pretty much backseat muscle until he takes on the Sea God. At least those chapters, as well as this, we get to see his continuing attempts to "control" the armor/beast on his own terms.
Otherwise, the Fantasia arc up to the present has been much in the mold of Sinbad-like adventuring and swashbuckling. I'm not against this much except that Guts has been more sidelined lately in favor of some moderate focus on Isidro and the new Isma character, with Farnese continuing her pursuits in witchcraft. Guts has otherwise been shuffled along the plotline doing little than crack wise and kill stuff. Again, the Sea God "duel" is really the only moment in the arc where Guts was doing anything interesting aside from some (welcome) subtle interaction with a few characters earlier on. Otherwise Guts was mostly on autopilot and the most interesting things about the plot came from Isma.
I don't mind the lighter adventuring tone the series has been steering toward. However, were it not for the consistently excellent artwork and some larger-than-life set pieces, I'd say this arc was overall mundane. My enthusiasm for the series has dwindled since the Fantasia arc started, and now that this Sea God portion of the arc is on the verge of winding down, I'm just hoping the series gets back into the groove it was in during the Millennium Falcon arc. Not to say this arc has been a total bust–I did appreciate the further depth given to creatures of the astral plane (generally in relation to merrows), for instance. Muira also continues to be dependable in his continuing depiction graphic violence and bare breasts.
Lastly, I'm glad this is the end of those blasted pirates. My God, they were 10x more annoying than Adon (even anime Adon). Sure, they were necessary as a hurdle for Isidro to polish off in his development as a fighter, but I'm not sure it was worth it. They haven't even been disposed of in a satisfactory way, though their absence in the last few chapters were much appreciated. Now if they somehow get restored after the Sea God dies….

The beast has been put to rest in more ways than one.

I caught up. Figured I give the series a huge break before reading numerous chapters. I liked it alot and enjoyed the pace. Especially since it focused on Ishidro a little bit. The only character I'm still a bit on the fence with is the Mustached Knight. He kinda came out of nowhere and I find his antics a bit out of place. Maybe he's intended to be a sideline character that reveals his importance later on and somehow his company would make sense upon rereading these arcs, but I'm not getting him.
As for the cliffhanger… I'm sure it's nothing. It's probally to save page space for a spread with Guts being bought back to safety from the Merrows... and I'm guessing he would not be able to fight until they reach their destination(probably along with scenes of Guts trying to fight that monster inside him). Saying that, I'll miss out on another year's worth of chapters to read them in bulk again. I kinda know what to expect of the wrapping up of this arc.

You know.. that seems like a good idea. Especially for Berserk, waiting a year will get you at least 12 chapters or less to read from.
Hell, I'm rereading the entire series again just to keep fresh.

I'm thinking like the first time Guts used the armor his body was jacked up so imagine what he looks like now. He may be out and will look all kinds of jacked up until Elfhelm at which time Caska won't be the only one needing the kings healing.
first 10 minutes of the first movie, gore parts are censored for the internet but of course in theater and dvds won't be censored. credits at the end are awesome.

He's Azan from the Retribution arc, who was one of the Holy Iron Chain Knights.
I have to agree that he's a rather random extra group member since his odd run-in with the group at the end of the Millennium Falcon arc. He hasn't done much outside of sparring with Isidro and make funny poses. You'd think he'd have more panels in which he catches up with Serpico and Farnese.
As someone who's been following the series since 2002, or whenever Guts first met Schierke, I usually find I can't miss more than a few chapters before my curiosity gets the best of me and I catch up. Either way, I agree that it's better to read in chunks as the series paces better in a volume-by-volume basis.

Okay, these generic cel-shaded 3D models might kill the movie for me. I reeaally hope all of the battles aren't going to be using these cheap looking 3D models. Bazuso here is particularly embarrassing in his lack of detail. And for what? To shoe-horn some simplistic 3D effects to market it as 3D?
Ok, the 3D is more likely masking a limited budget. Hopefully, profits from each film help improve available budgets for future films. Despite my criticisms, I'll probably enjoy it as a whole since the cel animation is quite good. The 3D, if they insist on using it in the future films, has much room for improvement though.
However, the credit sequence is indeed awesome and seems much more enticing that the footage included.
-
skullknight.net of the movie it seems it will be good and the violence/gore/nudity is all still there lol =DMiura had refused tens of other studios to make a Berserk movie, Studio 4c was the only to present an expensive pilot. Budget was always a concern and it shows. The movies were always intended for global market so that's good for everyone outside of Japan. Combined 3DCG and 2D…like I said budget was a big issue. Of course as a huge fan I wish there was unlimited money and recourses but that's not reality. I'll take it for what it is, I'm not really hard to please so I'm sure I'll get used to some of the wonky CG...hopefully after the movies the budget will increase for the rest of the series. I'm excited for it reguardless and will buy it on bluray when it comes out. Reading some peoples impressions at

lol, it's Azan.
Remember? Azan?
And as far as his antics, he's clearly trying to stay undercover for some reason. Personally I think he got his face fucked up by the Vatican when he went back to report the failure at Albion. And maybe his knightly shame is why he's trying not to be found out (though Serpico obviously knows who he is).
-
Wow. To be completely honest, I don't remember him very well or much at all. I thought his first appearance was at the docks(main reason why he confuses me so much). Gotta put rereading the Retribution Arc on the to-do list. There's alot of little detials on the series I missed on my first reading 3-5 years ago.
-
Yeah, Azan was that big knight guy with Serpico and Farnese in the Holy Iron Chain Knights.
-
How long does it usually take for the DVD to come out after the movie has been released in Japan?

Why don't you ask your posse of stupid gifs.
-
I've become so uninterested. I'm so tired with this Fantasia arc.
-
You can't say your tired of an arc in Berserk lol, not yet anyway.
You mean you're tired of the Sea God island storyline. -
Well yeah that. The waiting for chaps and this pit stop. It's worse than waiting to see how the king would lose in the chimera ant arc in HxH.
-
@Monkey:
Why don't you ask your posse of stupid gifs.
You don't like them? I don't really give a shit about you though. Lol
-
What a…..a.... renegade.
-
@Monkey:
What a…..a.... renegade.
Because I know you hate them Zeph.

Because I know you hate them Zeph.
why did god allow there to be a band of aging prog rockers making aor
-
-
What do you mean Bevard?
-
I'll leave it to the king to figure that out.
-
Who wants a taste?
!
-
So, what will happen, the King and the Zeph will fight to the death untill only one personality rules? Or they will coexist in "peace"?
-
I was always King. There is no conflict.
-
Grandiose thoughts .
-
ANN had a review of the berserk movie biggest complaint was the 3DCG but overall very good.

327
Guts is trapped inside the Sea God. He tries to stab at the walls and is engulfed in water/blood. Goes near unconscious, contemplates death. At that moment, the Child appears above him, whose hair is really starting to look like Griffith's now. He guides him to safety by pointing the right direction. From there, the merrows drag Guts out and bring him to safety. Meanwhile, the Sea Horse crew, led by Roderick, enter the mouth of the Sea God's corpse in order to try to rescue Guts. But then the Sea God begins to sink (?). Thankfully, Guts and the merrows meet them just then. The episode ends with a focus on the Child, who was apparently sitting with Casca the entire time (must have been astral projection?).
328 is also out on Feb. 23rd
-
From the new SkullKnight.net podcast the director of the movies said after the Golden Age Miura wants them to make The Black Swordsman arc into a movie. That's good news, it wasn't known if it might be skipped.
-
Time for elfhem!!!
Guts fighting against Sea God was nice but it was long. -
You better put that in a spoiler tag.
-
Where the hell is berserk? Chapters been out for days..
-
The scanlation sites have been backing off on everything for the last week or two since Viz stomped Mangastream. Except every series to be later for a while until the dust settles.
This happens ocassionally whenever there's a big action or an arrest or something.
-
Evil Genius always does the best job on Berserk and takes a few days to do it anyhow.
