I hate that there weren't more interactions between Cell and 16 during all this. "So are we cool?"
Far as Krillin goes, I think the Owned Counter probably should have went up more than once for that kick.

Can someone explain to me the cpmment from Cell about Vegeta father being right about him?
It's meant to be a typical taunt towards someone with a lot to prove.
Not really a lot to explain with it, it's just a put down.
To put it into perspective, imagine if Kuina survived into adulthood, and was losing a sword fight,
and her opponent told her that her Father was right about her. (When he mentioned that girls are too weak to be true swordsmen)
Omg. I'm slightly horrified with how much I actually laughed..
Hahaha, loving the FineBros reference
Want to watch video, but suspicious of airing date.
Too batshit crazy for my liking, but I did love the Broly reference.
Wen Broli? Wen?
I really enjoyed this. Shameless pervert Tai just works for some reason.
The only uncomfortable part was the implication that Tai did inappropriate things towards his sister (hence the restraining order).
Other than that, I thought this was pretty cool. The Digimon villains talking together reminded me of the good old "Marik's Evil Council Of Doom" videos.
The whole FineBros thing was great too, the overall joke is dying out now but I'd say that they juuuust made it in time.

To Kari, or to Gatomon? I mean, he _is_ a furry here.
That's a good point, didn't take into account the common link in his perversions.
Revamp of World's Strongest is up
Lol, best troll ever to the "where's Broly" crowd. Redo one of the old movies.
Anyway, ton of fun. I want more Dr. Wheelo.
Glad they finally did this, I was kinda confused that this movie was missing when I started watching the show like a month ago.
Good thing that I gave this another shot, since for some asinine reason I've used to hate abridged shows years ago, don't even remember why.

They did the first couple movies before they officially formed Team Four Star. It had a couple of the same actors but the overall quality was much lower. This is kind of a redo.

They are doing Broly though, one of the dudes said it would be done probably by August, in one of their gaming livstreams. So at least the Broly crowd will be getting it eventually
They'll end up releasing Broly right before the Cell Games, which I think is after two episodes?
They're getting better at adding in additional animation changes lol.
This was ok to meh. Not their best work. I wasn't laughing as much as their previous stuff, probably because the movie has no Vegeta or the other cast. I just thought this was a weak installment.
I reckon the later movies will be better.
Loved it. Really liking how they're starting to add depth to the series rather than just go for comedy. You know, making scenes better or changing the plot. It's really cool.
Also, that Goku line about Chichi
Kochin and Dr.Wheelo had really great voices imo.
Apparently the Biomen are voiced by Kirito from SAO Abridged.

I'm personally very critical of it. I remember that aspect basically ruining YuGiOh Abridged, and don't like the bits where they e.g. made Nappa come back as a hollywood producer for the exact same reason.
This episode's ending also gave slight vibes of jumping the shark, however the fact they limited this to a movie they already did before shows they're probably aware of this issue and simply experiment with some new stuff. Which is totally fine.
Well after spending the entire movie giving Wheelo an actual personality, and a fun one at that, sticking to the original script at the end where he just becomes a rampaging robot to blow up would have kind of.. sucked. The change was a good one.
I hope they do DragonBall super Abridged lol

Difference of opinion I guess. I do agree that the changes to the Wheelo movie were a little… heavyhanded? Especially since the animation was nowhere near anime level in that last segment. However, the idea itself was great, and it's not like they're changing tooo much.
i just love the little things, like the androids having fun quirks (birds, parkranger), or Gohan becoming visibly more and more irritated with his father (as opposed to being the passive kid who accepts it all in Toriyama's story), krillin struggling with the android bomb more than he ever did in the show.
I just feel like it adds sprinkles of humanity to the characters, fleshes them out more than there were fleshed out in the series, and lets be honest, DBZ was fun but it did lose some of the characters to its obsession with massive exploding fight scenes on one too many occassion.
I do hope they never go the Yugioh route. Team Four Star actually cares about DBZ a lot, so it feels more like any changes are done to add to the lore, unlike LK's changes which are mostly to cut content or just to get a cheap laugh..
Some of the reimagining is even preferred to the original. Nappa being Nappa, Super Kami Guru, Popo utterly destroying Garlic Jr. and his goons, etc.
The continuity is insane.
Yeah, all their changes are out of love.
Whereas Little Kuriboh… I swear he hates Yugioh and really only had a few jokes to make about the dub when it all started, at this point its just something he feels vaguely obligated to do.
Yeah, I kind of dropped off Yu-Gi-Oh abridged because it just wasn't that funny/fun to watch anymore. DBZ Abridged is still fine. Some episodes are funnier, some less, but it's always fun to watch.
Yuigoh is still funny. But an episode only dropping every six months does not help it.
Shame cause the filler arc he's on right now is loaded with potential.
I think Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged is funnier than DBZ. He's been releasing a bit more often now. The last three episodes have been released in two month intervals. I just hope he sticks to that.

I mostly agree. These changes are great because they keep things in line with the original story as well as their own build-up. What I'm worried about is, exactly, stuff that cuts content or does stuff because "lol so random XD" instead of keeping in line with established characters.
The Wheelo thing was very borderline in that aspect and could have misfired if handled carelessly. I'm probably overthinking this, but let's say for example they do GT after finishing Z. One plot point in GT later on is the over-reliance on the Dragon Balls - in fact the exact number they have been used. If this was the main series, since movies are hard to fit into the timeline anyway, they now would have added another wish (+ one year timeskip).
They would have to modify further plot points down the line or screw continuity, which I hope they'll never do because it's one thing that makes the show great, for some throwaway joke at the end. I know that isn't a perfect example because the dragon being annoyed is something they have built up for some time and they could thus easily fix it, but it shows what I mean. And this sort of thing is among the stuff that made YGOA become rather bad.

I'd agree… if GT was canon. It's not. Their willingness to put common sense actions of the characters before GT's continuity shows their understanding of GT's stance within the series. I doubt they'd ever do anything that would affect the Buu saga or even Super at this point. But GT? GT can be stepped on without anyone batting an eyelid.
I don't get the point, the crappyly designed cool idea for dragons where already badly counted, of the top of my head cannon wishes:
Panties
Revive Upa's dad
Picollo Sr. Youth
Revive Picollo's rampage victims
Revive Goku
Revive those killed by freezer and his men
Revive those killed by Cell and his spawns/Remove the android's bombs
Revive those killed by Babidi's mooks/Make everyone forget about evil Buu
Eight to ten canon wishes. Seven dragons with one being made from "general darkness". Adding a bunch of dragons later to make fun of it would be an improvement. And even if they halfass the designs they would probably be better than the 7 dragons.
I don't get why would anyone complain about the canonness of a fanfic retelling of the story. The point is of it being fun, not about it being acurate.

as mentioned, that just was an example of what sort of thing I'm talking about. And not a perfect one at that, as I also said. Put more generally, I don't like when they move too far away from the original plotline because it sort of defeats the point of doing an abridged series, which is supposed to make fun of plotholes, silly things, … in the original work instead of creating such issues on its own.
you're actually right, never noticed that. Did they ever explain that?
Napa being a producer, Garlick Jr. being offscrened by Popo, Karin and Yajirobe interracial love, other than one off jokes, how can that have any impact on the plot? It's not like we ever see napa in hell either, or ANYONE would ever find Yajirobe atractive.
They go off the rails with one off characters and villians, and keept the heroes under control, the only exception being Popo having to be eaten by evil Buu and save Dende, but that's something that I look forward to see how they handle, not "oh you ruined it by removing Popo from the platform/making him take control of buu/causing buu diarhea/making buu high/making buu not eat him because he's creepy"
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It's Dragon Ball, the plot is loosely conected enough to handle it, it's not like they removed Laboon, Crocus and little garden without imagining that Brook, the giants or the doctor of Gol D Roger would be relevant.

1-It's a movie, so they already accrue a bunch of extra wishes there, (Garlic. Jr, Unfreeze Wheelo, revive a forest, free hildegarn, plus whatever the Dragonball movies count for) and the series itself had way more than 7 made on the main balls in the course of things.
2-They didn't add an extra timeskip. That ending point, like the movies themselves, happens between adventures. After Raditz but before Namek. Somehow. So its not a whole extra year that needs accounting for, its an extra twenty minutes.
3-They aren't going to do GT other than random one off jokes about what a terrible future it is. Especially now that Super exists.
As is they're still conflicted on if they'll do Buu or not just due to how many more years that would make the project and they've talked about how if they were going to stop anywhere after Cell would be a good place…. but now that they've got Patreon going and its their jobs, they'll probably do that.

Again: this was just an example to illustrate why I do not like those things in general. As I pointed out, I'm aware you can't count the movies towards that seven-wish thing. What they did with Wheelo was ok in the sense that it does indeed have no influence on any future episodes. If they keep it within such projects or even the movies in general I don't care, especially because they still made fun of the movie itself (which YGOA kinda dropped as well) but, as far as I am aware, this is the first time they actually changed the plot (ignoring cutting filler such a Garlic Jr. or Frog Ginyu, though I'd have preferred if they kept the former in).

I just listed that for completeness without really thinking through when the movie is supposed to take place.
3-They aren't going to do GT other than random one off jokes about what a terrible future it is. Especially now that Super exists.
Huh. Did they actually state that? I would have considered GT more likely than Super because GT is complete, while Super might not be whenever they get there.

Again, I'm not talking about those sort of things that do not have any plot relevance.
Regarding Nappa, I simply thought of it as rather random and shoehorned, basically just to have Nappa somehow in there. By the way, ironically enough that one would have a slight effect on how they'd handle GT because Nappa shows up again.
3-They aren't going to do GT other than random one off jokes about what a terrible future it is. Especially now that Super exists.

Not having watched Super, but being a fan of GT (it's so cheesy and lighthearted, why does everyone hate it!), I'd much prefer if TFS eventually did GT.
I'm sure they have a greater nostalgic connection to it than they do to any of the Super stuff, and besides, it's so ripe with jokes!
I can't be the only one wanting to see abridged SSJ4 and SSJ4 Gogeta, or Mustache vegeta, or awkward fusion dance sequences, even if it's inferior to Z as a whole. Hell, maybe the abridged series can 'fix' some of those plotholes and character changes they made in GT.
Super not being complete by the time TFS finishes Z? Seriously? When they still have to go through the whole Buu arc, and have been on the android arc since 2012?
I'm fine with TFS making more edits but if they keep this up, they should really bring on an extra editor to help with small changes like lip flaps and other cuts. Their release schedule has slowed dramatically due to the increased production value and editing is by far the most time consuming part of the process. Hell, it's half the reason they started a gaming channel since most of them are on standby waiting for KaiserNeko to finish.
They've said at conventions (as of two years ago anyway) that they weren't even sure about doing Buu saga and Cell seemed like a decent stopping point… because they all want to do other things. They enjoy it and the exposure, but want to do other things. ANd if they had less interest in doing Buu, they really had no interest in doing GT. But again, now that they're on patreon and have actual jobs doing it, it seems much more likely.
And yeah. Even if Super runs for like 300 episodes, it's still going to take them another 4 or 5 years at least to get to the end of Z and all the movies (Unless they cut a shitload out of Buu). At that point they'd have plenty of material to work with, finished or not. Or they do original Dragonball, but I imagine they don't want to since half the cast and all the running jokes would be missing.
Not having watched Super, but being a fan of GT (it's so cheesy and lighthearted, why does everyone hate it!),
Because its cheezy and dumb.
Not lighthearted like Dragonball or Buu saga.
Just dumb.
And the designs were awful. And the plot and logic were awful
Granted, for all that Super 4 was a terrible design, at least it was different compared to red and blue.
But GT is officially non-canon now so… Even at the time no one was happy with it and it only ran as many episodes as it did due to licensing deals.
Eight to ten canon wishes. Seven dragons with one being made from "general darkness".
Eight to ten canon wishes made using two, arguably three, dragons at that since Piccolo killed the one who granted the first three wishes and the last two sets of wishes were made with a dragon remade by Dende.
They already said the voice actor for teen Gohan was the one planned for the Buu saga, so I'm pretty sure that's confirmed now.

They all were the same statue though, the same core, and the dragon acted exactly the same, it should have been warry after picollo sr.
I was expecting a SeaLab 2021 joke in this episode.
New episode is up!

I completely forgot about Cell's time-travel angle.
Multiverse Theory is a bitch.
