woot finally this chapter is out and damn i feel sorry for luffy in that last scene
I mean, is it just me or does it look like hes dissolving or decomposing? Either way I find it touch for him to get out of this unless he somehow applies like a layer of haki around him to prevent himself from getting degenerating any further.

Another thing I notice, why the hell didn't Luffy use Gear 3 against Magellan??
That would have made him shit himself on the spot! He could have even fused Gear 2 and 3 to make the attack faster! Luffy really needs to think before he acts or the New World will eat him and the rest of the SH's alive, Ussop been saying for the longest he's too reckless, when will Luffy get it!:sad:One more thing, why is Croc and Ace in Level 6, I thought it would have been used for people like Robin that knows about the Void History, butttttt, then again Croc did know about the acient weapons, and did try to re-create one him…...I was wanting it to be a place for people like Rayleigh! That's knows almost everything about the One Piece world as a whole!

Yes, he should have used gear 2 and gear 3, fully exhausting himself leaving him vulnerable to the rest of the guards at impel down assuming IF he did defeat Magellan with that form.
And gear 3 alone is most likely too slow for Magellan to be effective.

How far away was the kitchen, I'm sure Mr. 2 could have got him meat to get him back to full strength…..but on the other hand Mr. 2 did run away, either way, Luffy once again got his ass handed to him, What the hay Oda, this is Re-DICK-U-LOUS!

nice chapter, love it when the main character gets utterly beaten like this cause it separates it from other manga where they only do this only to have the protagonist stand up immediately and get a comeback win.
No way Luffy can counter this right off the bat.

I have a couple of notes that I took during the spoiler thread.
- Luffy will make a bunch of pirate friends here in level to help him stage a Level 5 riot. He'll do it the classic way.
A. Inspire a bunch of downtrodden souls with a speech/story.
B. Offer them freedom/friendship.
C. Riot.- Mr.2 has just gained super Crewpoints
3)Iwa will join the Breakout team on Level 5. He could possibly be the one that cures Luffy. He is the Miracle Man after all.
4)Ace is on Level 6 (though it doesn't make sense.)
5)With the above statement we now know that Crocodile and those other prisoners are no fucking joke.

I think Luffy WAS thinking about going for his Gear 3 form, but the problem is that both of his hand is now covered with poison, how is he going to go for the form now? And then Magellan does that Poison Breath technique, that possibly makes the victims' view of what they saw is a mirage or an illusion or so, and confuse what they see, which is why Luffy tries to attack Magellan now, he hits nothing but empty spaces, which led to Luffy's defeat by Magellan's Hydra attack.I also think that both Ace, Crocodile and Jimbei, along with the other prisoners are held in Level 6, I mean Level 5 is called Freezing Hell and every prisoners there are frozen solid and suffers from frostbite. If those 3 and the other dangerous prisoners were to be be in Level 5, wouldn't they be in the current state those prisoners are and it doesn't make sense right? Also, if Luffy were to be imprisoned in Level 5, then his entire body would be frozen along with the poison substances throughout his body and possibly we might be able to meet Iwa-san in this floor (whom a person in another thread speculated he ala the Dr. Frank N Furter of Rocky Horror Picture film)

hey isn't mr 3 going to have powers similar to aokiji thanks to the freezing conditions of level 5? his wax will probably freeze on contact with anybody he shoots at. he might end up being their power player down at level 5.

It took me a bit to calm down from the spoiler thread, but now that I see the entire chapter I can now accept what has befallen our dear protagonist quite a bit easier. Luffy has now suffered a number of setbacks this arc, hopefully has gotten stronger for it, and now when Bentham and friends save him he will get his second chance. I've now gone from worried to excited again for what's coming up next (maybe I should just lay off spoilers for a bit, give my fanboy heart a rest).

I think he just used some unknown tricks to cheat Hannibal. Maybe he disguised himself as someone else and led Hannibal to some trap. Hannibal is pretty strong and I don't think Mr.2 can defeat him easily.

Or Hanyabal helped Bon Clay since he already "attempted" to undermine the Warden with Buggy and Mr.3 but they just didn't listen to him and attacked him anyways. Hanya just needs to give Bon Clay his clothes AFTER he sacks all the other guards, and just vanishes without a trace. This than lets Bon Clay assume his image, go wherever he wants and undermines the Warden, and he can plead innocence because he can just say the Warden was incompetant by falling for Bons disguise, and whatever Bon does cannot technically be blamed on him and is more likely to be blamed on the Warden itself since he is in charge of Hanyabal.

we don't know if he's actually strong but its kinda hinted. i feel like bon actually beat him and hes probablly tied up in a closet somewhere.
i gotta say even though hes next to be warden i don't think he will sink so low to sabotage magellan because they both have pride of ID of how no one ever escapes (except the lion guy) and he doesn't look like he wants to end that record

He specifically commented on letting Buggy and Mr. 3 pass through. Meaning they'd have a chance to escape. The goal likely being to make Magellan look bad.

He has on two different instances commented on letting people go past him. Once 2 chapters ago (he didn't verbally say it, it was a thought bubble) and said specifically in that instance that he wanted to do it to undermine him and hopes it gets him fired so he can have the seat. In this very chapter before Bon Clay shows up he specifically mentioned saying he wanted Buggy and Mr.3 to go past him for the exact same reason but he had to defend himself when they refused to listen.
The way he looks at it, as long as it happens on Magellans watch, its technically not his integrity that gets destroyed if someone get free. In fact letting a prisoner get free is actually what he seems to want happen as long as it can't be directly linked to his behaviour but rather the incompetance of the Wardehn himself. At first it seemed like a joke act, but it seems he is actually really serious about it lol.

little question. how come that it feezes on level 5 when there is a lot of heat on level 4; i doesn't make sense.
heat goes up but the stones have to move some heat downstears to, or am i wrong -

His aim was to free Robin against all the opponents that were waiting there. The Buster Call was just as much reinforcement for the WG's side as Merry was for Luffy. And by the way it was Robin who saved Luffy from the BC bombing so, he could only be rescued because his invasion was a success and rescued Robin at the first place. Cleary different then now at Impel Down where Luffy went down without neither defeating the antagonist nor rescuing his brother. Something like that didn't happen at Enies Lobby. He went down after he succeeded in both.

Depends on how the entire situations will play out. If the entire development has still a large way to go then having it end quick is no biggie. However if the first round is supposed to be as long as any other round against Magellan then it could in fact be too quick.
But for now I'm actually pretty satisfied that the warden of Impel Down was able to take a 300 million bounty head down that quickly even though Luffy through his hunger announced that he wasn't at full strenght.

Nope because so far we don't know what the central tower is. It might be an interrogation room or the most secure cell. No matter what it is, seeing it that Level 5 only has prisoners with a bounty higher then 100 million they should be able to handle him.

Now we have 2 possibilities to free Luffy :
1 - From the inside of impel down
2 - from outside it
The first might be by hannibal or Mr 2 and co or why not Mr 1 that oda showed before, without any rule for the moment, or other prisoniers
The second possibility might be by his pirates how'll know that he's caught and will come to free him, also it can by his father dragon or shanks … -
I still dont know where hannibal is.
But I do know that mr2 as hannibal together with mr3 can free all prisoners they want. I think they will do.
They also can get easy to Level 5. I think they will.
They also can fetch antidotes. Easy.
So, right now, they have the power.

His aim now is ace against all the opponents waiting there… My point was that since he entered the GL the main opponents were most of the time so tough he barely came out alive from the fight. Crocodile Lucci Moria. He alone wouldn't have been able to survive the fight against them. Remembering that it was a matter of time he will encounter an opponent so strong that his crew won't be able to help him (pacifista sentomarou + kizaru). And now alone against all the guards in ID.... He never had a chance. Magellan pwned him period. If you saw how difficult it was for luffy with his actuall strength level to stop the villains it is normal that he goes down now that he was so dumb and reckless to think he would just break in ID and free Ace without a plan and without new techniques.

So luffy is going to die in 24 hours and Ace will die in 29 hours. I think it's clear how this arc is going to shape out MR. 2 is going to release everyone on lvl 4 since there aren't any guards any more and riot on level five.

Ah, this is the chapter that should make this arc so much better. I thought the first half was largely underwhelming, but now with Luffy caught, there are a bunch of new possibilities on the table now.
Wonder what happened to Hannyabal. I guess Mr. 2 could have beaten him and chucked him away or something, or maybe he has a devious plan of his own. Hm. Lots of awesome points for Mr. 2, regardless. I expect he might try to recruit Mr. 1 next chapter before heading down deeper, and since everyone's fighting on the side of good this time, I expect that Team Baroque will become much more competent.
