Now that was a chapter.
These kind of chapters are the reason I love Bakuman. Haven't enjoyed a chapter like this in ages, at least not a manga related chapter.

FANTASTIC chapter.
This is what the series is all about.
(and early too, what a pleasant surprise!)
Loved the color title page too. it was interesting and different.
Again we see both Mashiro and Takagi at their best - maybe, not as mangaka, but definately as characters. Them having the same idea was probably the highest moment of the chapter. And Shujin's shouting "Dammit" actually made me think otherwise, so the surprise worked for me.
Also, lol at the jogging gang - only Hiramaru, underslept, in his home clothes, is trying to get away from Yoshida, and nobody notices Eiji making his move.
Indeed, Shujin is back at 100 %… and so is Bakuman.
This is the kinda shit I like to see.
Red Hawk scans got a new raw provider, the chapters will come earlier from now on.
Welp, this chapter CONFIRMS that the bank break ins were done by one person. Plus since an unrelated bank was broken into in a short time span, that eliminates the possibility of an inside job. PLUS to top it all off, another bank break in was orchestrated in a matter of ONLY a month. UGH!!! Welp I call bullshit.
Great chapter in terms of characterization. But it's such a shame that such a usually well grounded series resorts to such cheap Hollywood science. Next Takagi will have a hacker in his manga and a copycat hacker will show up who can hijack cars with his computer.

Seriously? :I .
I wish my ignore list ignored quotes.
Good chapter was good. <3

It's silly, childish writing and I expect better.
Grow up, it's a shounen.
A shounen that supposedly prides itself in its realism. Realism my tush.
They don't teach you plural personal pronouns in Malta, do they, TLK.
The police are convinced it was one criminal. Don't see why I should doubt their word. I'm sure they did some proper investigating.
Remember, where Lion-Chan lives all banks have tanks guarding the front doors, laser beams, a dozen guards with loaded rifles, and billion dollar security systems that require three keys and a 27 digit encrypted passcode, on par with Fort Knox.
Of course he has trouble buying into people breaking into a bank. The sheer fantasy of it is insane, since never in recorded history has anyone broken into a bank. Ever.
Excellent chapter to an excellent manga.
So why is TLS complaining again?
@Chucklepants:

Because its IMPOSSIBLE to break into a bank. The condors with shark teeth alone should deter most people.
Anyway. I loved how SHujin got pissed and then cranked out great work. Very often anger DOES bring out the best and most creative juices in a artist. When you have something to prove and you want to show someone up is when you do your best.
No LONE person has ever broken into two different banks undetected in the space of a month on a whim based on a children's comic and didn't even take anything before that's for sure. You know I realized why the banks locations are noted as XXX. Because the banks are too embarrassed to let their identities be revealed.

The chapter was GREAT apart from that stupid plot device. I especially liked how Takagi got pissed of instead of further depressed. Very cool that.
Low Tier: Children, civilians, teachers, mangaka
Mid Tier: professors, adults, university grads
High Tier: Banks, Police Stations,
God Tier: Churches, Government, … God
Bakuman broke the holy rules of balance and allowed a couple from the low Tier to infiltrate the God Tier list. That's horrible writing and if no one believes in me, then I lost my belief in human kind.
@Thousand:

Yes they have. And the note indicates it was in fact, a group. And the entire point of PCP is to do it with friends so that its a party.
undetected in the space of a month on a whim
Obviously there was planning involved, so it wasn't just a whim.
based on a children's comic and didn't even take anything before that's for sure.
They got their story on television and reported by news outlets. Thats the reward and acknowledgment they were looking for. Same thrill as a lot of criminals. Why do people spray pain graffiti? To say "I was here, I did something daring."
It was such a minor plot point. If it was a major bank robbery and the security was at all crazy and it was of any importance, they would have made a deal of it. But no. Just… a bank.

I would assume the culprits are at least teenagers, rather than 8 year olds.
Adults read Jump too, after all.

Bravo for Bakuman!! Excellent chapter and PCP ranks third! Fuck yeah! Felt like the old Bakuman again.
TLK sigh Better times when he was banned.
Very good chap tho. Liked how they bounced back.
On a completely unrelated note it'd be funny if it was Nanamine doing all of these bank break ins and he didn't change/still holds a huge grudge lol.
guys, back the fuck off. The point is, Bakuman is fairly rooted in realism. Two bank robberies by the same person, just to prove a point, is pretty damn unlikely. One was a thing, but two? It stretches my suspension of disbelief as well. because remember, this isn't a dude robbing a bank point blank. That happens. The keybank near my house used to get knocked over more times than a 7-11. But sneaking into the vault, and then being such a snide prick to not even take anything, and to do that TWICE in a span of a month?
That's crazy shit.
So the characters accepting it as a sort of "oh here we go again" instead of "wait shouldn't we be concerned about this guy this is a serious issue" is kinda weird.
but not a big enough issue to make the chapter bad, like TLS said. Ya'll better stop hatin'.

Dude you're missing the point.
Jesus man what's your problem.
Pretty good chapter. Glad we didn't have to wait for the next one to see the fruits of Takagi's labor. I kinda want the direction of the series to change for a little while. Maybe they could focus on volume presentation, promotion, or how to reach different age groups. Something concerning a book signing or a Jump Festa would be nice too. I'd really like to know what Ashirogi's fans are like or at least be exposed to something other than the normal hard work/routine difficulty stuff.
Now that was something. Yes, this chapter was great, but it really surprised me. Looks like this may not end up being the event that brings down PCP. In fact, new theory: Now that PCP is in 3rd, Ahirogi may end up challenging Eiji for 1st (provided they can hold the 3rd position). And, who knows, maybe they could even end up getting a PCP anime (last I checked, they only said it was unlikely, not impossible).
But yeah, really interested to see what happens now.
Actually with this recent development, depending on how the rest of this arc pans out, if Ashirogi Muto really establishes to the public that PCP is not a criminal manga they could very well get an anime from this.
Assuming of course this all works out well.
I didn't know TLS was banned. No one ever tells me anything.
It's good to see the series in topform again. I liked this chapter a lot. I'm siding with TLS and BBL though. To an extent. I agree with BBL two bank heists in a month feels like going a bit far. The main problem I have is that I don't expect bank heists in my Bakuman chapters. I also had issues with the latest One Piece chapter (the dancing fishboys took me out of the scene a bit alright) but I was still able to enjoy the chapter. Same here.
Yeah it's possible PCP will last and it'll get an anime. But then what was the point of the dogboy and Nanamine arcs? They've been talking for a while about starting a battle manga so I want to see where they'll go with it. I think PCP will still get cancelled, that's me personally.
@THE:
(Like being a little more realistic and bring up those "real life event" that's against PCP into the manga to create new antagonist, then letting the protagonist desperately attempt to justify their behaviors with an interesting prank)
I guess I am really psychic.

No it's not unlikely. It's not even a robbery. It's breaking and entering. For all the realism you want to bring up it's not out of the realm for a genius even in the real world.
Plenty guys have robbed banks by themselves. It's not hard at all if you got a sound and efficient system.
Then again it could've easily been an inside job.
what are they going to do next?! Get another rival? Someone passes away?! Be stuck in a life or death situation and after making it out alive they'll use that experience and integrate into the manga?!!! What crazy and impossible theories. they would never stoop so low as to make something up so far fetched.
@Zik:

yes, it is unlikely. because it doesn't happen very much that people sneak in, get into the vault, and leave a pissy little note behind. Or at least I've never heard of it happening twice in a month. most bank robberies are "this might be a gun but the money in the bag" style, which is completely easy for one dude to do. Hell, some guy robbed like 11 banks in a 16-week spree or something.
post links to similar real-world bank break-ins and prove me wrong, but I think this is a crazy thing that we are just expected to accept, and I don't quite.
Why is it so unbelievable that breaking into a vault which happens in real life, would be tweaked to mimic PCP by leaving a note? Do you guys not remember the ridiculous reactions to people keeping their own Death Notes? Same concept but with much more planning, meaning that instead of being a stupid silly fan with a notebook, it's a group of fans with enough brains to break into a vault.
Chapter was enjoyable, good to see Takagi back to his usual self.
Seems like PCP is approaching its 100th chapter!

You make it sound like this was just a spur of the moment thing some group of people did when they were bored. Unless the manga explicitly proves otherwise, I'm sure this took a ton of planning and was likely an inside job at both banks. The fact that they left a note is entirely irrelevant. Crazed fans that also happen to be cunning criminals? I'll buy it.
Besides as it's been established how they robbed the banks is not important, the effects of it on the authors is the point of the arc.
@"y u no suspend disbelief": Okay, I've white knighted for you long enough, TLS, and I don't even want to get in your pants. I don't care anymore. if people want to talk about it, bring it up with him.
I enjoyed the chapter, and I loved seeing Takagi and Mashiro have the same idea at the exact same time. They're bringing back the energy that made them enjoyable characters.
yes, it is unlikely. because it doesn't happen very much that people sneak in, get into the vault, and leave a pissy little note behind.
If that's what you're complaining about then you have a petty problem with the story. It's obvious the culprit is a fan of PCP. The authors are tying in that real world event to the story. How else is this even going to be important enough that it effects the story and is significant in anyway?
You're simply picking and choosing when to suspend your disbelief if you're whining that 2 times in one month some guy broke and entered a bank and all he did was leave a note as if this manga is about criminals and has kept it's realism that way.
Or at least I've never heard of it happening twice in a month. most bank robberies are "this might be a gun but the money in the bag" style, which is completely easy for one dude to do. Hell, some guy robbed like 11 banks in a 16-week spree or something.

There have been bank robbers who have robbed multiple banks in the same day. If you don't believe it go look it up. Start with Massachussettes.
Can't you only white knight for women?
Or has urban dictionary lied to me again? >=\
All I can say about that chapter is Bakumans back
Am I the only one that thinks the person/persons that "broke" into the vault is just an employee working in the bank who reads PCP and wanted to help boost their popularity by doing this?
This chapter was sick, I loved it. The cover looks much better as it is compared to when I checked it in the spoilers.
I just loved every single page and panel, I really felt the chapter and got along with the characters again as opposite to what I felt on the last one when I was feeling a bit like a stranger would to them but I could relate anyway. This was a fantastic 'conclusion' to this matter.
By the way, Nanamine-kun and bank-robber guys were pcp fans, when will we meet another one soon? :ninja:
I assume Eiji didn't take first place since they didn't talk about it again but he's sure totally getting there.
I agree with the others. I don't find it so unbelievable that a group of intelligent teenagers with enough knowledge to hack the system and jam the security cameras could rob two banks in the course of a month. Geniuses like this do exist in the real world, people. Moreover, security in these places is much more lax than you may think. It takes huge events like terrorist attacks to force people to take the job seriously - but in many cases they are slacking and not used to actually having to enforce the security, because in reality, security is enforced more by fear of being caught than brute force.
Still, I doubt this will become a major plot point. It was just something to get Ashirogi Muto to step up their game. But they may surprise me, because I didn't expect things to go down this route.
Also, let me say that colorspread was plain genius. I saved it.
Can I assume we're all over our little argument from last week? I tried to not post in here so we could all cool down and move on.

Don't worry no one will hold it against you. Not unless you say something really dumb like Almost Legendary with his "Zoro kylled Mihark ovur temeskiiyp" nonsense or AGOG's "science" that Jimbei can't join the Strawhats because he's 3 Luffy's Wide! and the door to the Sunny is only 2 Luffy's wide! (DUN DUN DUN!!!) So yeah. Don't say anything that dumb and no one will ever hold anything against you forever. Probably not anyway.
just wondering… i feel that what eiji said in the latest chap can be applied to bleach. it's time to end it.
134 is out.
http://www.mangareader.net/bakuman/134/2
Some iiinteresting stuff going on with Eiji. And Nakai, amazingly enough.
It's nice to have the series back in proper form.
Yeah, they were talking about +Natural and the Bleach paralel was really obvious. Great chapter, and Nakai for the first time in a really long time, didn´t look like an asshole. (Can´t blame him with the sudden urge of eating a burger, it happens to me all the time).
Eiji plays one mean motherfucker throught this chapter. And I like it.
The current situation really piques my interest. On one hand we have Eiji, determined as ever to become the first and use the cancel right. But on the other hand, his own series, Crow, is coming to a natural end - with an all-out full-cast final battle, no less - which actually allowed him to occupy the top. Therefore, he doesn't intend to use this right for himself. And, with his reaction to Ashirogi's gratitude, a certain conclusion comes to mind, doesn't it.
Oh. It was a long time since I last had this feeling - the chapter felt really long, I expected it twice to be over, at the end of the Hiramaru bit, and at the end of Fukuda moment. Nice.
