@RobbyBevard:
Okay MiniLuffy, convince me its a good show.
Give me 10 good reasons.
Cite specific jokes, if you can. Preferably from after the show got canceled and came back.
Well, I don't have to, really. You're entitled to your opinion and even if I were to give you ten thousand reasons, I doubt it would change anything. But that's not the point anyway, I'm not trying to convince anyone the show's good. Some like it, some don't, plain and simple. I just don't like the fact that you make it seem like the show is widely hated ("and you should too!") and nighly one of the worst shows of all time, which I don't think it is, despite its flaws (I am aware of the fact that the show went downhill with its latest seasons, this is obvious).
Regardless, since you insist, I can bravely declare that I liked pretty much all of Season 4. The replay value of nearly all episodes is high. I can watch a couple of episodes today and if I watch them again after a month, I know they will still make me smile, because even if the jokes aren't all comedy genius, they're relaxing. My favorite episodes from it are probably "PTV", "Jungle Love" and "I Take Thee Quagmire". I'm afraid I can't cite, since I haven't watched those episodes in a while, but I remember the last scene of "Jungle Love" where they forgot Meg, and well, that was pretty funny, since y'know, Meg is the punching bag and her face was priceless. And in "I Take Thee Quagmire", when Peter, Joe and Cleveland tried to frame Quagmire's death, that was pretty hilarious. "PTV" I liked because of its concept, because the FCC does tend to overreact nowadays.
Season 5. Still, high replay value for me, but not as high as Season 4's. Memorable episodes to me are "No Chris Left Behind", "Meet the Quagmires" and "Mother Tucker". In "No Chris Left Behind" I remember a scene where Mr.Pewterschmidt was teasing an orhpan, showing him all sorts of toys and kiddy goods, but had locked his car. That was undoubtedly cruel as fuck, but original and amusing (I'm going to hell for laughing at it). I liked "Mother Tucker"'s concept (Tom Tucker becoming Peter Griffin's stepfather? Doesn't get more silly than that) and who could forget that classic ice-cream scene. As for "Meet the Quagmires", well, Death made it for me. Seeing him one more time was simply fantastic.
Season 6 (boy, this is taking longer to write than expected). This season has less good episodes (quality-wise), but I liked the Star Wars special (although I don't like specials very much in general), "Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air" and the two-part episode where Stewie kills Lois. Knowing Star Wars, I liked the special, the references were good and I liked the scene where Lois (or princess Leia) tries to send a message through R2D2 (Cleveland). "Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air" I liked, because I always wanted to see Joe walk again. I mean, his backstory was awesome, he was a total badass and this episode proved it. And hey, a story of friendship, always charming. I liked the part where he wanted to shoot himself, because Bonnie was a terrible shooter. And finally, for "Stewie Kills Lois" (and "Lois Kills Stewie"), well, it was another concept I've always wanted to be realised (just like nearly all FG fans). A memorable scene is when Lois shot Bush's portrait a wee bit more than the other presidents'. And the ending. It was totally expected, but that's what made it great for me.
Season 7. Well, I'd say it's a bit worse than S6. Still had it's good ones, though - "I Dream of Jesus" and "Ocean's Three and a Half". In "I Dream of Jesus", I liked the part where Jesus starred on Jay Leno's show. In "Ocean's Three and a Half", I liked the part where Brian listed many songs named after a girl (I seriously hadn't noticed this cliche before).
Season 8 (tryin' to cut this as short as possible and failing). Signficantly going downhill, "Brian and Stewie" comes to mind (oh god, that one sucked), but there were some good episodes too - "Jerome is the New Black" and "Quagmire's Baby". I personally wanted to see more of Jerome, too bad they just erased him. He brought the coolness of the episode, but there's also Brian's feud with Quagmire (or rather, the entire world, in a way). As for "Quagmire's Baby", I liked its concept, an irresponsible guy like Quagmire looking after a baby? Again, this is something you'd expect to see happen to such a character eventually.
Season 9. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to comment on it, since it's not over yet, but regardless, I think this one is real bad. Most of the episodes' concept was bad and there was too much unnecessary gore (it was a Christmas special, I mean, come on). I liked the Halloween one, though (Birdo Brian, I laughed so hard after just seeing a preview image of that). Oh, and "And Then There Were Fewer" was pretty interesting to watch, I couldn't tell who was going to turn out to be the killer. It's kind of amazing how many characters they erased with just one episode, though.
Holy crap, that took a while.
Well, I don't know how many reasons those were, I hope they were enough. Not to convince you it's a good show, but rather to make you just give it a rest already. :/
edit: And please change the thread title, I don't care what it is, just don't get me directly involved.
