This bonus chapter 125.5 was cool, I would prefer the story would revolve around these chars and how they became abyssal ones tbh, cuz nowadays I can't make sense of whats happening in Claymore anymore.
Claymore

@RobbyBevard:
Pointless arc? It's probably the final arc.
It just reads reeeallly badly month to month. It'd be fine as a weekly, or in trades.
I was under the impression that the author was gonna do the dragon war arc. . . when he brought that up. . .like 50 years ago. . . yeah I just skim the latest chapter every 4-5 months and see if they are out of the same arc thats been going on for years now, having the main character be gone for almost as much time as leorio had been…
hell, the author hasnt even made raki meet up with claire again, he could have at least done that by now.

Yeah, but why now when they're already dead… I can appreciate Riful and Duff's story, but they died so long ago that I'd have to drudge up the earlier chapters to properly appreciate the romance.

I don't think dragons were ever a significant part of the story moving forward. Claymore has focused entirely on the island and that conflict is distant and too far removed from the stories of recurring cast to gel with the rest of the work.
hell, the author hasnt even made raki meet up with claire again, he could have at least done that by now.
This needs to happen. :(

I really hope you are wrong about this being the final arc. I personally hope for another 5-10 years of claymore, which goes out of the island and allows the claymores to unveil the conspiracy and whatsnot, stop the dragon war and end the production of claymores and yoma. Or it could have an open ending, but in that case the organization must change and the claymore-become-yoma thing should be fixed…
As for the current arc, it seems to me that the mangaka has tied himself into a knot with the last fighting and the only reason it's dragging out so long is that he must manage to end it without asspulls and without messing up powerlevels...
-
I also thought the claymores would be going to put an end to the war. Clare and co are pretty much the ultimate creations of the organization and Clare and the glasses dude need to reach the end of their relationship where one of them dies. Not a "love" relationship of course but the "give and take"/"fated" relationship.
-
Claymore 126 And that is it.
But before making any unnecessary noise, consider that there are already news it continues next issue as usual. Except no confirmation for that.
-
I'm certain the series just ended so don't expect any news on a continuation.
All these abrupt endings to mangas something must be going on -
Well, that was… sudden?
Well, the "end" is just kind of confusing. Arc end, I guess. I think Berserk has had a few of those along the way.
I never expected it to actually go off and deal with Dragon Island, but hopefully it does in fact continue next month since even as far as ambiguous endings go, it at least still needed a showdown between Claire and Priscilla.
If that is indeed the end, its a huge letdown. If its an inappropriate editor's note, it's agravating. Either way for this chapter to pop up after so many months (years?) in the midst of this base invasion arc is just… well...
quick.
Guess we'll see next month.
I'm certain the series just ended so don't expect any news on a continuation.
All these abrupt endings to mangas something must be going onNegima-Author was worn out and constantly falling behind on his deadlines after doing the series for 10 years.
Bakuman- Ended exactly where it should, give or take a couple chapters.
Claymore-??? we'll see next month.
Any other series you feel recently had an abrupt end?
-
Well, there's also Naruto and Bleach on their seeming last arcs, as well as HunterxHunter ending a chapter ago…
Wait, what?
-
Not for long.
Anywho, I'm not convinced this is the end of the series, there wasn't even an announcement or anything for one thing. It'd be in poor taste to end the series without ever seeing our protagonist again for one thing or ever see her resolve her main conflict.
-
This can't be the end of Claymore. You can't just end it by killing some fucking fodder, lol.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Well hopefully part 2 comes next month or after a hiatus. Since that was one seriously shitty ending.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@RobbyBevard:
You mean that thing was still running?
Air Gear has 3 more issues and then its done.
-
I'm happy that this arc is finally over.
But I am convinced that this is not the end. Apart from it being a bland ending, there is the cliffhanger.
Who else thinks that we will have a genre change/time skip, from medieval to futuristic. I mean that lab looked pretty steel construction & rubber tube capable (and there are the hyper tough claymores).
Maybe it will go to a horror, survival storyline with the sexy 7 hiding from Amarkama & Organisation alike on contested territory convincing either side that the other one is ..depopulating their current vicinity. Oh well in shoft I would prefer it if Claymore goes back to more horror/survival than shonen.
edit: wait a second. How did Rubel become a spy ? Isn't this a inter species war? I mean the opposition is twice as tall O.o!
-
No, wait, I mean, no, it can't be, what, It wasn't, It shouldn't, I want, Batoto, Plotpoints, conclussion, climax, Prisscila, Claire, last line being said by fooder being healed, MIRIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
-
At Shueisha - Claymore is published in Jack SQ - the magazines almost never announce series' endings in advance. Moreover, pretty much every series' ending has an editor's note stating "Look forward to this mangaka's next work". This chapter has a usual editor's note at the end. "Claymore - おわり" is written below in the last panel.
This is pretty much the end of the Northern Campaign. Perhaps, Yagi plans to change the name of his series, since Claymore Organization is no more.
-
I'm not holding out hope the series is over imo
The way it ended aside from Clare being MIA everything was basically wrapped up in the usual abrupt ending manner for a manga that is ending. -

I'm hoping this is the case.
This ending would suck far too much otherwise.

It usuallly says on the raw Claymore - Then a message about next months issue. I forgot how it's worded. The raw for this one is Claymore - The End. Which is why the whole talk about it being the end of the series started.
-
WHAT THE F*CK! What the… This is impossiburu! No! NO! no! nO! noooooooo! this can't be really the ending. It must be a prank. Or the end of the first part. Wha---GRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
******** ****** ***** ******** *** ********!!!!!!! What about Clare? What about Priscilla? What about the Fcking dragons! nooooooo! I won't stand for this. It's Shaman King all over again. I call BS. Someone behead the main editor of shonen SQ. Sure, it wasn't fantastic...but this???
F*******************CKK!
-rant over-
EDIT: I did like the explanation for the yoma..., but if this is the Editor's idea of a joke... well... OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
-
Does anyone know what the fan rankings on Claymore have been lately? I mean, with the pace its been at for a long time, I wouldn't be shocked to find out it was doing badly…
I wouldn't be surprised to find it was coasting on the strength of its start either. But...
-
Here's the ToC rankings. It's in the top 10. It should say (End) or something I would think. It's most likely some stupid ass editor comment signifying the end of Claymores since the Org Arc is done. In the author comments Yagi doesn't talk about a new series or the series being over. He comments about some food he ate.

The last Claymore trade, volume 21, disappeared from the Oricon top with solid 200 000 copies. So it does hold its weight in sales.
And Kenshin is probably the live action promotion tie-in. If not, it kind of makes Watsuki look like a one-trick pony.
-
Ha–-
I got so pissed with the ending I spoiled it to a friend who is currently reading the beginning and has decided Claymore is his favourite ending.
So the Editor might be an idiot. That would explain stuff. But it DID feel like a conclusion. A BAD conclusion, but still a conclusion. If it isn't actually finished then they sure chose the worst chapter to put that comment on... being the one that explains yoma and stuff.
-
I like the fact, that this chapter alone has generated more replies here then the last half a year.
That aside, I dont believe for a single moment, that the manga really ended. I just doesnt make any sense. But I would support it, if the author goes into some sort of hiatus for fresh ideas, because his last arc(s) were just bad.
-

Well nothing has happened for the last year. By merit of being the end, this is more story movement than we've seen in 400 pages.
-
Okay crappy ending CONFIRMED.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-03/claymore-manga-series-ends-in-jump-square-magazine
In the June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine this week, the last panel of Norihiro Yagi's Claymore manga announced that the series has come to an end. The magazine issue does not reveal what Yagi is planning to do next.
In the issue's back page, where authors are given a line of text to send messages to readers, Yagi simply wrote, "My editor dropped off some of those super-spicy Peyoung noodles that everyone is talking about these days. I tried them, and they did a number on me." The June issue's preview page for the next issue does not list Claymore.
Volume 22 of the manga is slated to be released on June 4 in Japan. In North America, Viz will publish the 20th manga volume in July, andFunimation released the Claymore anime adaptation produced byMADHOUSE.
-
That's very strange…I was sure that Claymore wouldn't end until Clare vs Priscilla reached a genuine conclusion...And then we have Raki who was supposedly supposed to wake up the Clare-blob so that the final showdown could take place.
-
Absolute garbage if it's true. Maybe even if it isn't.
Some high-functioning bullshit.
-
How can you end a series without resolving the protagonist's main conflict?:/
-
Awfully, lazily and idiotically, but apparently you can. What I don't get, though, is that how on earth do his editors and the guys at SQ let him get away with this. Have they not been quality checking their series at all?
-
Well maybe he'll release the true final chapter in volume form and it'll be some ridiculously long chapter, or at least we can hope. I'd hate to believe someone who's been so consistent with his series and plot points could cut us off like that, so much so I'm forcing myself to believe if we wait we'll get more. Though I'm only doing so because if I don't tell myself that I'll continued to be enraged by the thought of this being the last chapter.
We all knew this was the last major arc, and there's not a lot to resolve yes. But Claire, Priscilla, and reuniting with Raki. These are all things that need to happen. We need actual closure, not just the end of this arc. I'll put hope in Yagi, because there's really not much else we can do at this point :|

Other than Claymore being absent from the next issue, that tells us absolutely nothing new. We all saw what the last panel said, and that message from Yagi doesn't indicate finality in any way, so I'm going to hold out hope for Claymore 2 sometime within the next few months.

It doesn't even tell that Claymore will be absent from next issue. And Jump SQ preview pages list only series with color pages.
By the way, Heiji @Ritual ScanForge (a reliable source) stated that next issue will have Claymore chapter 127 in it.
-
Star Comics, the Italian publisher of Norihiro Yagi's Claymore manga, reported on Friday that the manga is not ending. Earlier this month, Shueisha had published a chapter in the June issue of Jump Square magazine that finished with the text "Claymore — Owari" (Claymore — End).

All is well with the world again~

So claymore has avoided having one of the crappiest manga endings ever. good to know
-
So. The editor is a complete idiot then?
-

That, or Star Comics is wrong.

More like ANN is the new Fox News. :P
To be fair, we're all suckers for not questioning the story (I believed it at first too).

Yes and no. Claymore has gone mainstream which means that it's going to be a cashcow if it isn't already. So we all should have suspected something amiss for a manga that's actually making money to just end. On the other hand this has happened before on the Korean side of things. Veritas was popular as hell but because of economic issues with that country's manwha (plus the issues the author was having) they just canceled that shit. No resolution, just, OVER.

Claymore will be in next month's issue. We should get spoilers soon. http://imgsrc.baidu.com/forum/pic/item/cb8065380cd79123ff84a3d3ad345982b2b78034.jpg

Same here.
If you find one post it here :D. I'll do the same. -
Strange, that it doesnt appear anywhere else then on Mangabird. Dont want to read it there.
Maybe the other sides thought, that it really had ended and removed it from their lists. Mangastream for example did not have it anymore. -
Decent translation out on Mangareader. And i don't like the way Raki looks now, there are already loads of female warriors in the series, so him having long hair really doesn't help distinguish him from the rest.
-
Could you post the group name of who did the chapter they're hosting? I'm apart of the majority of the internet that still can't view images on mangareader (unless people have figured out how to fix that).
