That'd be okay if it was a weekly. Or if it were 5 pages of the full 30 page chapter.
But its a total waste of time as a monthly.

I put off reading this chapter for an hour and then It's all filler… lately claymores pacings been quite awful.
Short chapter for a monthly.
But Anastasia being the hottest Claymore I've seen thus far makes up for it a bit.
Christmas Claymore chapters tend to always be short. 22 or 23 pages is the norm. Yagi must feel left out that SJ has 2 double issues during this time that he decides to take his own break. As for the chapter, filler aside from the last page.
Ever since Claymore started killing off every single character who dared have a personality my interest has quickly waned, and this chapter does not help. Sorry Helen and Deneve, but without the Abyssal Ones you two alone just aren't enough to hold my interest.
What daz said. When the Abyssal ones bit the dust I slowly started losing interest plus the pacing doesn't help.

New chapter is out. Made the last chapter made sense after all the randoms fights. I think it was more to show the difference between power levels of the warriors from the north and the current organization.
I liked the chapter, but dang if that was a terrible cliffhanger. Not terrible in the "it was bad" way, terrible in the "gah, now we have to wait a month to hear her answer!"
God, was the series always paced this abysmally?
After a full month, and a 30 page chapter, STILL NOTHING HAPPENED.
Sure its cool to see some ass being kicked, but… we get it. They can take out elites like they're fodder now. GET ON WITH IT. This pace wouldn't be so bad if it were a weekly series, but really, its like it wants to be Bleach or something. Endless fodder fighting, no actual story progression.
I dunno. I dig the series, and I end up thinking this every month, but I may have to give it up for a while and just let it build a stockpile for like, the rest of the year. Cripes.
At least STUFF HAPPENS in Berserk when it gets back from its breaks.
I was skimming the pages and was wondering if pages were repeating.
The series isn't bad, but its definitely very unsatisfying for a monthly. Needs moar pages.

Holy Shit.
HOLY. SHIT.
Looks like the plot's moving forward after all.
I don't get it
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait…?!
WTF?
YOWAAAAA SHOCK!!!!
This song should be fitting once you read through the chapter.

Wonderful News.
I'm happy…. but somebody explain this.
Just a speculation.
Tunisia –--> Egypt ----> Libya
It's a cascade of emotion and inspiration.
On second thought, this notion is just to good to be true. I'm not going to be surprise if it actually flips to a different route next chapter with the Northern group turning out to be the actual targets.
@SSM:
I'm happy…. but somebody explain this.
! Apparently Miria attacked them a full 3 months ago.
! But the Organization warriors felt so confused and uncomfortable about the reasons given to them for the attack, and probably their own personal experiences, that they were given pause.
! That Miria went out of her way to not harm any of them probably told them all that something was wrong.
! So they all struck non-vital areas, but attacked them so violently that it seemed like there was no possible way Miria could have survived.
! It seems like in the 3 months that have passed, Miria has had time to recover. And during this, she likely explained her cause to the other warriors.
! A bit much to accept but…. Miria's back~
! It's a shocking development, to be sure, but it certainly changes the tenor of the past few chapters. I went back and read them, and you realize that the Organization is really on the ropes. They're down their 1 & 2, their single numbers are absolutely no match for Miria, all their warriors are gathered in the same location - and without the former number 1s to use as warriors, they've suddenly got a real problem on their hands - a natural result of their constant negligence and disregard of the warriors.
! I wonder, though, what's gonna happen with the sealed Claire, Destroyer, and Priscilla...
Yay Miria's back!
The Organization is screwed.
! I wonder, though, what's gonna happen with the sealed Claire, Destroyer, and Priscilla…
???
Those are the three Dae was talking about?!
Also, is her name really "Lady Dae" or Cassandra? Cassandra seems like a Claymore name, while Dae…like an I don't know.
???

Oh, no, no no no! You misunderstand. Those three are the ones sealed back by Rabona. Claire and Rafuela have Priscila sealed there, and releasing any of them releases all of them. The Organization doesn't know about it. I was just musing about their role in the sure-to-be troubled future.
Dae is the name of the guy with the skin missing from his face, and he's picked 3 strong former Number 1 Claymores to be a part of a revival project which uses Priscila's severed arm - which she used to save Raki. Cassandra is one of those Claymores.
The "other" incident Louvre and Dae were talking about concerned Miria's attack on the organization - whose death "wasn't confirmed, but wasn't in doubt."
so how the hell is miria back?
Awesome.
It is great that the claymores have half a brain.
Half way through I kinda expected Miria to return as ultra-zombie but this is way better.
Finally something happened and it was good! Now I'm just wondering hows the orgs gonna defend themselves with 2 groups attacking. I'm hoping the orgs forced to awaken the three number 1.
Yay for Miria  so she was able to survive because the others faked her death somehow? I'm happy that the other Claymores are finally standing up against the organisation as well they'll need every fighter they can get against an enemy like that.
This chapter made me so happy. My favorite character still alive, and confirming my theory that I had, that all the Claymores would betray the organization and Clare's group would have an army under their command. Now it's looking like the Claymore Army commanded by Miria will take on the Organization who has the Abysmal Eaters and revived #1's on their side.
Yeah… this setup for the final arc looks amazing~
Yeah… this setup for the final arc looks amazing~
There's still a whole continent of big monsters and "other" enemies out there. This is just the threat at home.
Sure, them mentioning why they have such big swords in passing might just be a throwaway and there's no guarantee that they'll gt around to it but… there are bigger threats than the organization.
Though if Claire manages to power jump due to her current situation and take care of Priscilla, then yes we're probably in the home stretch.
Yeah, I don't see them expanding on the bigger continent or the dragons sadly. It's possible they could go there after this, but I don't see it happening. Mainly because they have no reason to want to go there, and it seems that would span the series into another full story direction, when they've set up Pricilla to be the final villain all this time. So I'm thinking this arc is it.
I say dragon people invasion. Going to the continent doesn't seem like the way for the plot to go, but not to present the new evil race would be stupid.

Yes, but she traveled for years with Claire's best friend the piddly human boy, so she's changed. An alliance to deal with with bigger things could happen. Or she could easily remain out of everyone's league for some time to come.
Even Piccollo and Vegeta were final villains once.
My best guess is that they go to the main land in an epilogue kinda style since after the whole situation is resolved and in case things go public i doubt they will receive much warmth back there. This leaves the choice of either continuing on in the same manga taking a break and writing a sequel or leaving it open ended like that. Not the worst options to have.
If the author intends to continue on afterwards expect a lot of faces to be culled before the voyage since there will certainly be new faces on the main land.
Personally i would go with the open ended one and at least a break before possibly following up on it. His ending of Angel Densetsu wasn´t bad in it´s openendness but then again it was a gag series so there is that.
Kinda disappointed that Yagi chickened out of his fantastic "Feel the maximum consequences of stupid actions, kill you like a pathetic dog!!!!" plot twist but I suppose the execution makes up for it especially when Miria was only saved because of the organization's own extreme foolishness in treating its warriors like shit.
Yeah, I would've been more bothered by it if this hadn't REALLY. BEEN. A LONG. TIME. COMIN'.
We all knew at one point the warriors would reach a point where they would get so sick of their mistreatment, the lies, and the unresolvable contradictions that they would turn on the Organization. And honestly - the Organization is lousy about oversight. They don't care when warriors run about killing humans (Ophelia), they don't really pay attention to inconsistencies when they should (Teresa, Miria, Miata, the rumors of the warriors from the North - PRISCILA), and they treat them like absolutely disposable test subjects and don't tell them ANYTHING (Clare didn't even know that Awakened were former Claymores).
They blackmail people into paying for fees to cover their protection in a continent-wide extortion racket, and release Yoma on those that can't afford it. Considering that most Claymores are born out of such events where they've lost their families and homes, of course it wasn't going to be long before SOMEONE realized the Organization and Yoma attacks were causally related!
Communication even within the Organization itself is awful. Look at the past few chapters with Dae, and he spends several pages mentioning "people I'm not supposed to know about" referring to "events I'm not supposed to know about" hinting at the suppression of "information I haven't been told."
With the confirmed death of the three Abyssal Ones and (though they weren't known about, Alicia and Beth) you can be damn sure that there is no better time for a rebellion than now. Any Claymores who considered the injustices they suffered minor compared to the threat that the Abyssal Ones posed now have nothing to hold them back from turning their wrath on the clearly shady Organization.
They were outrageously foolhardy - and perhaps their comeuppance has arrived.

Yeah, that seems beyond the scope of this series. Priscilla has had so much development I can't imagine her not being the series villain, especially since we readers will be a little torn about her now that she's developed a relationship with Raki, and how that relationship with be rectified by Clare.
I'm not familiar with how Yagi ends his manga, but the end I'm hoping for is a Clare x Raki end. Because so many Claymores have tragic ends to their lives, such a triumph would be a testament to all the Claymore's hard work and sacrifice. Though, it might be "too much" of a triumph given the rather somber tone of the series, so Yagi might settle with the Claymores beating The Organization, earning their freedom at the expense of Raki and/or Clare dying.
Or he could surprise us. I find myself more often surprised than not…
Well, using my extensive sample size of 1 (angel densetsu) I can tell you he ends his manga's fairly abruptly with an open ending. ie I can't see this lasting much longer myself.
Ps if you haven't read AD as your comment suggests you really should.
For some reason, I kinda wished they kept miria dead. So claire is no longer part of this series or what?

She's currently in monster mode fusion limbo. She'll get out of it eventually, likely with a massive power up.
Possibly insane.

New chapter is out.
Miria proves once again why she is all sorts of badass.
Aw poor Raftela =/
Anyway, I miss Clare and these chapters are way too short.
Isn't it the middle of April? Why did the chapter come out now, of all times?
Golden Week affects everything. Jump SQ as well.
WHY DOES NOTHING EVER HAPPEN IN THIS SERIES.
Seriously, the first 18 pages were splash shots of their heads saying what they said in a single page last chapter. She held back, earned their respect, we get it. And some of the relentless berserkers were sent out. Yawn.
It wasn't always paced this badly.

Well at least it's not as slow paced as Felch. But I do think it's headed down that road.

Due to the earthquake in Japan, Jump SQ got delayed 3 weeks.
Pretty good chapter I'd say; made sense why the other warriors chose to side with Miria, and I love how they threw the message at the organization that they were more human than monster, when the normal humans this series puts so much emphasis on them being monsters. This chapter did a lot for the plot progression, which we don't get a lot of in this series. So yeah, I liked it.

I don't think you could have summed that up any better, nice job!
The next chapter is out.
Did I forget something or was it explained sometimes, why Raki is so strong all of a sudden? He could "defeat" this two twins, who in turn are able to kill a Abyss Feeder. I get that he trained with Isley, but he remains human and shouldnt be in this league.
My main problem with the last chapters and arcs were, that anything processes too well. We have such a large cast of "good" claymores to keep track with. There are so many, who were mentioned, but its hard to remember their face, or what they did in the past or one single character trait. But while all the bad guys were dropping like flies, new ones were introduced (Feeders), only to not represent a danger anymore in the next arc, not a single one of the good guys died after the time-skip. I really thought, that some of the survivors of Pieta, especially the minor ones, would have died after all the shit they got themself involved with. But no, even the on and only death got erased 2 or 3 chapters afterwards.
So yeahh, we have now three new uber-bad enemies, who will get defeated in the next couple of chapters and most likely again without one single casualty. I really wish, the old gloomy atmosphere of doom from before the time-skip would return, where not everything was a cakewalk.

You're right, the tension is kinda gone, no Riful or ..oh shit Ophelia moments. My grief is I guess that the abyss feeders compared to the old enemies are kinda bland. If they had an instakill poison bite or something they might be more interesting, instead of their "really resistant to chopping & we all look the same".
Are the three new ones actually certainly hostile? Are they Abyss Feeders (that can awaken)?
They should really stop sending Claymores to fight Claymores. That hasn't been going so well for them.
Another month, another chapter, another lack of anything happening. How is it this series is in an epic war showdown thingie, and I just don't give a crap at all? Where did all the drama, suspense, pacing go?
If this was a weekly the pace would be okay. But every month I end up feeling cheated and like nothing happened.
