Yeah, I was just explaining how it worked.
Hajime no Ippo

I don't think Gedo's down quite yet. A purse that size has to be motivating him something fierce, plus it just doesn't feel like the end of the match.
Wasn't there a volume cover that showed the three Oriental champions that Ippo was going to face? I remember him being some long-haired dude with some weird markings on his face.
-
Where can I download manga scans of this from volume 31 and up?
-
Dunno where to download them beside IRC or torrents, but you can read it here: http://ippo-online2.confusticated.com/nav.html

I love IRC. Where do you get it from IRC?

Well
! The gedo match is finally over. Thank god. It was a meh fight. Got better towars the end, but the 3 weeks straight of nothing but him getting his ass kicked was brutal.
Wii game out too
-
So now we're getting into Itagaki's matches? Lame.
I want to see Takamura's 3rd title conquest.
Or even Miyata vs Randy Boy Jr.
-
I guess so. I hate itagaki too, but if he loses its fine with me.
Though…once Takamura wins the suppermiddle weight title, I'd like to see him Unify it with the WBA champion. Hes fought basically cans for defenses, so I'd like to see him have a defense which could actually give him trouble. That and him Unifying would be great (Though it'd be more appopriate since 168 is a somewhat worthless divison, except its current status in real life. Then its awesome. Joe Calzaghe ftw).
-
So I've been trying to catch up to this. I read up to volume 51 and it's probably one of my favorite mangas, but I just wanted to know does it start to lose steam later on? I mean it seems like after 80 volumes it might start to lower in quality or something.
I'll still keep reading though.
-
You're actually coming up on one of the better fights in the manga. Ippo seems to have its ups and downs, and although I liked his most recent match, many say that it was pretty slow. The quality remains pretty consistent, but we've yet to have anything close to Takamura vs. Hawk (though I think the match you're coming up on gets second place).

What's with the Itagaki hate the last thing we need is one more boxer
at the gym with more than one lost on they're record we have Aoki
and Kimura for that. And for the record Takamura has had problems
getting belts against Hawk & Eagle respectively so it wouldn't be any
thing new to seen him struggle. -
Aokimura is so much cooler. I'm still wondering if they'll ever win their respective title. Kimura prolly has a better chance now that Mashiba's aiming for the world. Aoki's a joke, but he's a really good joke and he has his moments.
It would be really cool if their title bouts are both on the same day, and they win together.

That fight was amazing, i wondered why everybody ,liked that fight but it easily tellable now.
And i don't know i got to the fight with Ippo and keiichi and i dont think this one will be too good
-
I just bought the anime series and watched through it. It was really good, I enjoyed it a lot.
I know the manga continues on, but where should I start from?
Another few questions: Does Ippo still only have one loss? Is he still Japan's champ, or has he gone to higher levels? And is there actually more length to other character's matches, because most of the other's fights were really short.
Oh yeah, have there been any plans to do a second anime series? I heard there are about 300 more chapters to work with since the anime end and it seems like it would be more interesting animated.
-
ah the cliffhanger drives me crazy, i wanna see Randy boy in action! with this kind of build up he has to be broken almost to Takamuras level which promises for an awesome match after the whole Gedo thing which was kinda disapointing, only downside is if he pwns both Itagaki and Ippo then well have to deal with more smugness from that little deformed coach and i cant stand im.
and yeah i think he still is the Japanese champ but hes gotten himself a world ranking too.

He needs to be taken down, fast.
-
Yo Syan you should start with volume 31
and right now HNI has 83 volumes so alot to enjoywell for your other few questions I advise you to read it . It s so much fun than to get spoiled right now.
-
Volume 31, okay, thanks! Any tips on a good place to get the series scans?

They're essentially the Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis of boxing though it is
a bit unfair that Takamura,Ippo, & Itagaki's stars keep rising while AK
stars keep falling that what makes them so fun to watch.Bullet timing or whatever the hell it is. I don't mind outboxers (I actualyl perfer them to infighters), but Itagaki's Bullet Time is so lame. He barely edged out a decision against Imai then came back and had some special crap.

The fight with Imai in my opinion was one of the best fights in the manga
decision or not.The fight with Hoshi, what do you expect he just spent
sometime in the hospital and it wouldn't had been any good for him to
be sent back.Another few questions: Does Ippo still only have one loss? Is he still Japan's champ, or has he gone to higher levels? And is there actually more length to other character's matches, because most of the other's fights were really short.

1.You should know the answer to this question
2.He's on the move to the world stage (still a bit behind though)
3.What fights ran short for you?
4.I seriously wish they would, I for one just can understand why the
Japanese tend to shit on good Manga series that get adapted into crappy ass animes or OVAS. -
I think it would incredibly awesome if Itagaki learns the shoulder roll though. Probably not for another 4 years Ippo time though since Mayweather is just starting his career.
DowuxLN6YRs&feature=related
Mayweather uses it at the end of the video in round 5. I have a gif of it, but my stupid photobucket account has its bandwith exceeded.
-
warp: could you give more precise information about when for us nonboxing fans so that we can fighure out what it looks like in real life? how many seconds into the vid?
which one is Mayweather? the one with the shortest hair right?
-
Correctumundo and Warp try listing time in which the roll
takes place because that's alot of video too sift through
I get the gift to show it off but I don't feel like it. -

2. Cool, good to hear that.
3. I don't know, they just felt short. The only non-Ippo fights in the anime that actually got some real time were Miyata v Mashiba and Sendo v Vorg. All of Aoki and Kimura's matches were less than two minutes airtime. Takamura's title win and two defenses were pretty quick, either destruction in an instant or sudden suprise and return thunderously. His fight with the bear and following entrance was awesome incarnate though.
4. That's a bummer. -

3.Aoki & Kimura get more play in they're respective title matches
Takamura's fights only last long when he challenging for a
title the only exception being his fight with Morris West
4.-sigh- -moan- -
Aoki and Kimura actually got title matches, huh? Cool.
Yeah, I just was wondering if Ippo had lost any other ones, but it's kinda cool that he's defended the title for so long. How many matches is he at now? I think the show ended at around 13 fights, 12 wins, 1 loss, 12 ko.
-
Would've been cool
! had they won but I guess that woul've created a bit of weirdness.
Wish I could tell you but I wouldn't be able to give a proper count especially since I haven't finshed reading his recent fight.
-
Wow. I can't believe I'm just hearing this news now.
Any guesses to who it's gonna focus on? I hope it's not Gedo since that fight was pretty recent. Also hope it's not somebody boring like Vorg. Man, I really have no clue. It could be pretty interesting, though.
-
I need a little help with some information (since I neither read nor watched the series so far). Does the Karaoke scene in Episode 45, where they sing the Champion Song also happen in the manga? And if yes, what chapter?

Yes, in chapter 148.
It's also the same song. -

Unless Madhouse decides to get back on the horse. and more people watch this time.

We need the World Championship animated, and we need Kamogawa's WWII flashback.

Yeah, I gotta say, I only got into it recently and I've already finished the anime and read all the manga chapters up to date, it was that good….
In favor of animation for Kamogawa's past and Takamura vs. Hawk.
-
anyone got the dl links for the 3 Ippo opening MP3s?

best i can have.
-
Did they release episode 76 on dvd in the US? I can't find any record of it, and it seems strange to have released the Champion Road TV Special without finishing the main series.
-
76 was a filler episode not worth it if your not down with Takamura.

Shonen Magazine announced that next issue (09/17) will bring "shocking news" on Ippo.
New animation? Fingers crossed.. -
NEW VIDEO GAME PLEASE. They are the best boxing games no joke. They shit all over fight night and even knockout kings 2001. The only real huge thing is they don't have create a boxer. Sure there is boxer's road mode for Victorious Road and Boxer's Road 2 (not an Ippo game though), but they don't have just a normal CAB. That and there is no clinching, which would be great to see, but CAB should definietly come first.

New animation? Fingers crossed..That would seriously rock. The manga is far enough where they could leave it off at the end of the Miyata vs Randy Boy Jr. bout. Heck, I'd settle for just the Aoki title bout at this point. I'm not getting my hopes up, though…

Who gives a shit about an Aoki title belt
bring on Mashiba vs Sawamura and Takamura vs Hawk
